Victor Sinclair Candela

The color of money with the unique taste of candela leaf.

Victor Sinclair cigars are flawlessly blended by Jose Dominguez in the Dominican Republic. His blends are prized across the country for their perfectly balanced flavors, expert construction, and joyously affordable prices.

Victor Sinclair Candela hails from the Dominican and features a Candela wrapper. This hulk-hued wrapper was immensely popular until the early 1970’s before it fell out of favor to beefier blends. If you appreciate smooth and sweet, then this blast from the past is for you! This mild-bodied blend is completed with premium Dominican long-fillers and features the crowd-pleasing Dominican flavor profile. Expect silky flavors of cedar, cream, and nuts with a noticable sweetness on the finish. This is a great way to try candela for cheap!

Victor S Churchills
Smooth smoke with an easy draw. I was able to make these last a long time as the taste held up very well.

VS Candela
True to the VS brand, this is an all around good mild cigar. Only complaint is an occasional uneven burn. I will buy again.

Nice smooth smoke
This is quite decent and worth trying. It burns slowly, is mild and pleasant. For just an everyday smoke it's great and also great as a give away to friends. I enjoyed it and plan to order it again.

Victor Sinclair Candela Churchill
Very nice mild cigar that shouldn’t be hurried. A relaxing time number pairs with porches and your favorite libation.

My first candela
Very nice smoke. Skimpy wrapper though that doesn't hold well brings it down a notch.

Best ever had!
These classic Candelas, my fav first smoke in the am, were the best I ever had- minty, creamy, stayed cool all the way through.

Nice smooth cigar. Would buy again!

Good Candela
A smooth cigar. Sweet, with notes of white pepper, green tea, and cedar. Good bang for the buck on price, and it's something to put in the rotation for a nice change of pace

Bitter taste!
You get what you pay for, though Victor Sinclair is a good name. Sweet tip, probably to mask the bitterness of the smoke. Hate to throw them away, but horrible taste. Never again!

They are for the most
They are for the most part not as I had hoped. Can't beat the taste, but they are rolled too tight and they dry out quickly after being taken out of the humidor. My humidor is at the right setting. If they were rolled for better draw this would please everybodys taste.

Not quite.
Not as expected. Too sweet on the end, had that been noted on the description would not have ordered. It's not the sweetness at the finish it's from the start. Tastes like it was dunked in sugar.

TOO SWEET
Overall I liked the cigar, but was not a fan of the sweet wrapper. I draws well and is overall a good cigar, but too sweet tasting.

Good cigar!
After several weeks in the humidor, they are a smooth smoke. They draw well and have a slightly sweet tip. Well satisfied!

Delicious, mild cigars
It's getting harder and harder to find the candela or jade wrappers, which are rather delicate and add a unique flavor. The cigars are well-made, burn nicely, and are quite a bargain at this price.

Really enjoy the Victor Sinclair
Really enjoy the Victor Sinclair Candela Gordo, but not the Torpedo. The Torpedo doesn't have the same smooth draw the Gordo has. Still a mellow tasting smoke, just doesn't draw smoothly

Different
I don't know what I was expecting but the taste is difficult to describe. The more I smoke them, the better I like them. Would probably buy them again.

A true, delicious bargain to enjoy!
This is a solidly crafted cigar with a firm but solid draw and slow, even burn. First third of this green goddess has a mild, white pepper finish with slight notes of hazelnut and cream. The middle of this cigar is literally and figuratively its sweet spot. There you will find delicious creamy cashew and white chocolate notes that you won’t want to end. An excellent cigar. The smoke out the tail end is mild and somewhat fragrant. The cap is only mildly sweet (less so than Drew Estate naturals, Acids or others I have tried) that helps balance any naturally bitter notes. A true bargain to enjoy. Also, left a less harsh aftertaste and odor on my hands than most cigars which was definitely a bonus.

Victor Sinclair Candela Robusto's
These cigars are a nice mild sit on the porch type of cigar. Very smooth, good flavor and almost no after taste. Great pricing makes these a cigar for everyone, especially if you want to share!

GREAT!
I am making these a regular. I have spent so much time trying to search all these boutique smokes and ratings that I forgot that the old green wrapper is still one of the best recipes out there .... like the good old days.

Sinclair Candela Torpedo
I do not like the torpedo but, that was all that was in stock. The torpedos taste different than the regulars to me. I do not know why but I will not get them again.

Inexpensive But Tasty
The Victor Sinclair Candela Robsto is a nice one hour smoke filled creamy pepper note the first third, creamy and cedar notes in the final two thirds. A pleasant smoke.

Victor Sinclair, 'nuf said.
I have smoked many candelas over the years but with little satisfaction. All too often it is a tasteless experience, most forgettable. But these are different. At last I hit on one that is most enjoyable, mild and satisfying. I will buy them again and again. You should too.

Had candelas in the past but this was much too sweet. Sugary. Threw them away

Great Cigar
I was a little hesitant to try this after reading the comments you have to enjoy a sweet cigars to like this. I personally love sweet and full flavored cigars. So keep that in mind when choosing this.

Nice Easy Smoke
I'm about halfway through my first box. I find the flavor at the top of taste, very mild and a nice easy draw. I will definitely buy these again.

Can't beat it for the price and long burn time. Good any day or all day.

Mr.
I enjoyed the cigar but it didn't have much Candela taste, didn't burn too evenly, and really didn't like the sweet tip which I had to cut off an inch of the top, to enjoy smoking the cigar.

I thought these were a very good cigar. Slight sweetness all through. Really like the nutty taste of the candela. Great breakfast stick. Would like in a larger ring though.

I wasn't expecting sweet
Perhaps I missed it in the description, but I was surprised by the sweet taste. Fortunately, it is just a sugary coating on the wrapper and doesn't permeate the entire cigar. Otherwise it is a typical VS cigar with a mild taste and good draw.

Victor Sinclair Candela Churchill
This was a real treat, as candela cigars were hard for me to find. It had good construction and burnt well, the wrapper didn't flake off or anything, and good flavor. The cap was artificially sweetened but not overly so.

Candela Robusto
Sweetish, but altogether a very pleasant and economical smoke. Hard to believe these types are not more common than some of the other ones I have tasted - which basically shouldn't be.

Pretty good for the bucks.
Pretty good for the money, but not what I was expecting from the Victor Sinclair stable. Some where hard to draw, some the wrapper fell off, most were good though!

Added sweetness was not a treat
These were mild and burned well, but the additional unadvertised sweetness applied to the tip was horrible. The description could have explicitly stated that the sweetness was added instead of implying it was a natural property of the cigars. I will not buy these again and I will be more attentive next time in reading the description.

Too Sweet
Cigar burns unevenly and flashes very hot. Plus the candy-like flavor makes the cigar harder to like.

Its structure and composition are good flavors of dried green leaf snuff and sweet fusion do are all pretty decent against is their uneven burning in some...

Victor Sinclair Candela
Thought a very good cigar, mild as a candela is, with an almost sweet start, never harsh or bitter. They were good right from the day they arrived. Best candela at this price point. And I will definetly order again. JH of Cape Coral.

Victor Sinclair candela robusto - good w some caveats
If you smoke one right out of the bundle pack it's pretty awful, but if you unwrap them and let them breathe in a humidor or cigar box for a couple weeks then they're quite good with a bit of spicy character, worth the effort. I'll probably buy more.
