Torano Captiva

Charlie Torano’s big debut.

Named for a small island off the coast of Florida where Charlie Torano vacations, the new Charlie Torano Captiva seeks to encompass the same feeling of relaxation that the island of Captiva represents to Charlie. Plus, despite his reign as Torano President for nearly a decade, it’s the first Torano release bearing Charlie’s name.

Handcrafted in Nicaragua, Captiva boasts an oily, dark brown Ecuadorian wrapper along with a rich blend of well-aged Nicaraguan long-fillers. This combination delivers a bold and satisfying experience that’s loaded with notes of sweet cedar, black pepper, chocolate, and coffee.

Awesome smoke
This cigar is great. I have a Torro that I am looking forward to smoke, after this robusto. It has a great draw with plenty of smoke. A ton of flavor with every draw, and every draw presents new flavor. I got 2 of these In a 5 pack at a local shop and consider it a great surpsrie in the quality!

Captiva Toro a little thin.
Was not impressed at all with this cigar. Flavor profile mild to med. Not smooth at all upon lighting. Burn OK, but not much difference in taste.

Decent for the Price Paid
Outside appearance good, have to keep correcting the burn. Flavor is timid. Good for mowing the lawn but do not give to your best friend.

Quality smoke
This is the first time I have ordered these cigars. Quite pleased with the quality and flavor of these sticks. The longer they sit in my humidor the better they are getting. A slightly harsh light but once you are involved in the smoke it becomes nice and smooth especially for a full flavor cigar. It has notes of leather and spice with a very sturdy white ash. I haven't had to do one relight on these, just a nice easy smoke. I hope these stick around for a while so I can make them a staple in my humidor.

Not bad for a cheap smoke
Burns well and has an enjoyable flavor. Just burns a little fast personally. Works well for a cigar while grilling and being semi-active (golfing, horse shoes, etc). Great for the price.

Good price, Good smoke!
My humidor typically contains a third or more of AVO's, mostly XO. The remainder are some tasty Connecticut leaf warped sticks, (Rocky Patel has some nice ones), a few Gloria Cubana. All light yet what I would call, "spicy" cigars. I used to enjoy the heavy maduro cigars, now I only keep one or two on hand. Point is, I don't stray too much from what I know I like. I'm not adverse to spending the money for the cigars I know that I enjoy. However, I really am a poor cheapskate who will not spend money blindly to experiment w/ the more fine / trendy cigars. So, if you're a bit like me, then you should really like these cigars. I've had more than my share of inexpensive cigars promising to be, "just like $$$ cigar"; they're often not worth the butane needed to light them. I bought the BFC (Gordo). I wouldn't classify it as "heavy"; it's not a maduro smoke. With this cigar, I was remarking how I couldn't really tell if it was one of my lighter Serie R or not. I am old and forget things quickly. There is a slight earthy taste I can notice which is more pronounced when the stick in the ‘too humid' range. Also, they often have a hard leaf stem near the end, which is sometimes bothersome. I think this cigar tastes better when its a little on the dry side of the range. I'm considering a second humidor for more of these. This also a GREAT cigar to have on hand to give to friends who appreciate the infrequent smoke; they'll finish this one. (you know what I mean) Overall, I found the BFC (Gordo) to be more than worth the money; especially if you have similar tastes to mine. Thanks.

Excellent full body cigar.
Ooh-wee! Was I surprised. For those that like a real full bodied cigar, this is the one. This bad boy is a stick of dynamite. Highly recommended! I will keep this on order for sure..

Good Smoke
A good cigar. Not great, but good. Hints of cedar, white pepper through the whole the entire cigar. A touch of floral was also present. The cigar should be more into a medium range.
