A Dominican-made delight from a true dream-team.
There have been more cigar releases resulting from collaborations lately than ever before, but this one is bound to sit at the top of the heap. Finally hitting shelves after nearly a 5-month delay is the San Lotano Dominicano, created through a partnership between two of the best tobacco producers in the world. AJ Fernandez grows some of the best Nicaraguan tobacco, and Jochy Blanco is responsible for a lot of the amazing Dominican leaf in several brands you know & love, and together they can boast countless awards, 90+ ratings, and accolades from all across the industry. Until now the two haven’t yet joined forces, but now you have the opportunity to experience what the top names in the biz can do when they put their heads together.
Crafted in Jochy’s Dominican factory, the blend consists of a Cuban-seed Brazilian wrapper over a Dominican binder, and contains a carefully crafted mix of Nicaraguan and Dominican long-fillers. All of the Nicaraguan tobacco inside comes from AJ’s farms, and the Dominican is grown by Jochy. This is the first time a line of AJ’s San Lotano brand has been produced outside of Nicaragua, and the result is nothing short of extraordinary. The flavors are earthy and complex, producing notes of nuts and caramel, while the construction is everything you can expect from the skilled workers at Jochy’s factory. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to stock up before they’re all gone!
Good news! The San Lotano Dominicano has received an impressive 93-point rating, noting: "The toasty, woody smoke of this box-pressed torpedo blossoms with big notes of caramel, black coffee and cocoa powder before the licorice finish. A rich and satisfying cigar."
