Rocky Patel The Edge Candela

A well-aged powerhouse from Rocky Patel and company.

The Edge Candela by Rocky Patel cigars is waiting, so get your favorite chair ready. Comprised of a dazzling array of superior, aged premium tobaccos including ample Hondurian Ligero and wrapped in a beautiful Candela wrapper, Edge Candela allows one to realize the combined blending and cigar-making skills of Rocky Patel and Nestor Plasencia. The Edge Candela is no doubt one of the stronger cigars on the market. However, the power is controlled, the strength extraordinarily well-balanced, the flavor extremely smooth - a feat for any blender crafting such a full-tilt blend.

The mature, crisp flavors coalesce at just the right moment, allowing you to gradually appreciate the complexity and strength of the cigar, as opposed to being simply overpowered by a potent blow to the palate. In the end, you're left with a full-flavored blast of spicy, well rounded accents that will fully entertain the most veteran of palates.

A Good Grass & Spice Concoction
My friend Mark and I traded sticks and the Edge Candela is what I got. I have had the "green leaf wrapper" before and figured it would be a mild smoke. I should have known better just by the fact that this stick is branded with The Edge frontmark. I have known The Edge sticks with a darker wrapper and if I remember correctly it was full-bodied. So, I shouldn't have been as surprised as I was when I lit the Candela Edge. It immediately was quite spicy and I felt the power of pepper in the exhale without doubt. After the shock of the spice I found that there is some of that grass like flavor as expected. Initially it did not compete well with the spice, but as my buds adjusted and the smoke warmed up I found a nice balance. Folks this isn't a mild Candela wrapped cigar. It's more of a collision of smooth tea-like grass tastes juxtaposed with a peppery exhale. I actually get a kick blowing it out the nostrils for the slight sting. Leaave it to RP to make a unique green gar. It burned pretty well but a bit different as this wrapper often times will do so I did need a couple of touch-ups.

Great Candela
This a great Candela cigar! I’ve smoked candela cigars for years and this is one of the best I’ve had. They use to be common now somewhat hard to find. The taste is really nice due to the Candela wrapper leaf. Dunhill use to say Candela should be the first cigar of the day to setup the taste buds for the rest of the day. Give them a try, nice flavor mild cigar.

Great Smoke!
Got one of the Toro Candela's from my brother and really enjoyed it. This was my first Rocky Patel smoke. Bought a box for myself- Merry Christmas to me! Nice flavor, even burn. Gave a couple to my buddy and now he's wanting more.
