Rocky Patel Catch 22

Hey slick, here's the catch.

If I told you that one of Rocky's new releases was being sold for significantly less than the rest of his lineup, you'd probably ask, "What's the catch?" Exactly. Catch Twenty-Two is the latest to don a Rocky Patel band, and it could definitely be sold for more, and probably should be. That's the 'catch'. Clear as mud? Good. Now let's get down to business.

Catch Twenty-Two comes outfitted in a flavorful Corojo wrapper, which hugs a core of balanced Honduran and Mexican long-fillers. Medium-bodied and producing abundant notes of cocoa, earth, and spices, along with a hint of sweetness, Catch Twenty-Two is proof big results don't require a big price tag. I just wish my wife saw it the same way....

Ehh... Didn't live up to the hype and you can do better for the same or less money.

It's a good cigar for a good price. However, I just started smoking cigars about two months ago so I'm just a novice in this game. Although I do like the Catch 22 cigar, I did find one disappointment. After I cut off about 2/3 of the cap, I find on just about all of the cigars the remaining part of the cap falls off and the wrapper comes loose. When I first purchased a couple of these cigars at a local cigar shop the wrapper was a lighter color and the band was blue (and the caps and wrappers stayed intact). Now the wrapper is a darker color and the band is a red/orange color. They were both Rocky Patel Catch 22 Toros. Why such a difference?

A Good Cigar
I bought a bundle through CigarFu, and for the price was very satisfied. Good construction, and Corojo flavor won me over. I'll buy again at that sale price.

Had my first Catch 22 the other night and totally enjoyed it. I'd rank it with the Rocky Patel Vintage 1990 for taste and draw.

Don't waste your money. That's the catch 22. Price ok-can't smoke!
Wasted my money! I have been unable to smoke 7 so far. Poor draw! Poor wrapper! Fight my way through an inch or so of burn and get upset and light up a different brand!

Not a bad cigar at all.
For a lower priced cigar I have to say it wasn't bad. Not a ton of flavor but a smooth draw. For the price I would say you get exactly what you pay for.

Great Smoke for the price. My new daily smoke.
I'll admit it, I have expensive taste in cigars. It's a challenge for me to find something in the moderate price range to fill my humidor. But, this is my new daily stick. I love it. Normally, I prefer full bodied cigars, and this one is probably more in the medium range by my standards. But I absolutely love the creaminess in this stick. I've yet to have one that hasn't burned or drawn perfectly. I'm not sure that I'll find anything to replace this, my new reasonably-priced go to, any time soon.

A Hit, but not a Home Run.
For me this was a letdown for a Rock Patel cigar. Think the phrase "Catch 22" can't win. It is however a nice everyday cigar. Good spice, lots of billowing smoke and easy draw. Good price. I think though I'll stick with others like "Edge" but, if you are looking for a quality everyday smoke, this one is top notch compared to others.

Overall, not bad for the price. I enjoyed the flavor, burned well, comparable to the edge (which I give the advantage) but a good cigar for the humidor.

Not overly impressed.
Not overly impressed. I bit let down compared to their other sticks like the prohibition and edge.

Rocky Patel Catch 22 is a real good grab for your humidor
Rocky Patel's Catch 22 is a smooth, cedary, earthtoned cigar that has lots a smoke and a creamy base. The best catch of it is it's price for the cigar. An outstanding value on a very well constructed, medium bodied, delicious cigar. A must to keep in your humidor for a any time of the day smoke.

Catch 'em if you can
Cocoa and Spice that what I mostly get from Catch 22, and that's just fine by me cocoa is one of my favorite flavors in a cigar so I can smoke these all day. Burn was perfect, the ash could've been better. I'm being picky I guess just love cigar that can hold their ash for an inch or two.
Customer Testimonials
Having never tried Rocky Patel cigars before I wasn't sure what to expect, but after trying the Catch 22 and experiencing the combination of flavors it produced, I was instantly hooked! These are without a doubt my new favorite cigar!!

I'm a HUGE RP fan. The Edge is one of my Top 5 cigars. That said, this thing is way underpriced. Corojo wrapper is excellent. For the money this ones worth a try. If you don't like it you won't be out much, but I promise, you'll like it if you like Rocky Patel's or Corojos!

Rocky could charge more for this stick when you factor in the construction and taste. It's a spicy wood flavor with lots of leather and hints of cream. Just like other Patel brands this will be another hit.
Started off a little medium to full. Had me surprised. Then all the creamy buttery taste kicked in. Very smooth and relaxing cigar. I would compare it to starting off smoking a Patel Bold and falling into Monte Cristo Espada smoothness. Very nice cigar.
