Oktoberfest – Beer, brats, and now cigars!October....no longer a month for beer festivals and prancing about town in your Spiderman costume. Introducing, Quesada Oktoberfest, a small-batch seasonal cigar from Manuel Quesada - maker of Casa Magna and Fonseca. With production limited to a mere 500 boxes, Oktoberfest was specifically manufactured to pair with everyone’s favorite libation....beer! Blending a cigar to pair with beer is no easy feat. But who better to fill the tall order than the legendary Manuel Quesada? This hearty Dominican puro all begins with a Dominican Cibao wrapper that is thick, dark and oily. This beautiful leaf hugs an all-Dominican recipe of long-filler criollos, visos, and ligeros, producing a hearty medium to full-bodied cigar chock full of flavor and complexity. From the first puff, you’ll know why the Oktoberfest is so special. Pleasant notes of cedar, earth, and dark chocolate mingle throughout a cool slow burn. Like many of the beers Oktoberfest was crafted toward, expect rich natural flavors to highlight a smooth but robust body. Beer, or no beer, the Oktoberfest is great any time of year.
What an awesome cigar! This one is a real secret gem. I have tried the Heisenberg and wasn't impressed. However, the Oktoberfest gets an 8/10 overall. Complex, rich flavor, medium body, great room notes, mouth-feel is above average, a real winner here. I think the smaller sizes are better than the Uber in my opinion.
Glad I found a box before they disappeared. Phenomenal!!! Hope they reappear this fall.
Quesada hit a homer with this one. Goes perfect with a nice Oktoberfest amber marzen. The Uber is a monster of a stick, but so smooth. If you can find one, try it , you will not be sorry. Burn needed attention but who cares when it's such an enjoyable smoke.
