Pirate's Gold

Tasty....affordable...pirate themed....check, check, and CHECK.

After a short hiatus, the classic, top-selling Pirate’s Gold returns. And this legendary handmade is burning better than ever thanks to more (better) size options and the same great blend and quality you’ve grown to love over the last couple of decades.

Pirate's Gold was blended by Rolando Reyes, Sr. and crafted in the Puros Indios factory….and this affordable handmade compares favorably to much pricier brands. These densely-packed Honduran handmades boast a complex recipe of aged Dominican, Brazilian, and Nicaraguan long-fillers inside your choice of Ecuador or Maduro wrappers. The cigar is medium in body but full in flavor, dishing out tasty layers of earth, coffee, pepper, and spice throughout its slow burn. Quality normally reserved for $8 cigars, yours for less than $2 apiece. A downright steal.

Nice everyday day cigar.

Not what I expected
The pirate's gold cigars weren't as good as I was hoping for. While the burn was slow and good, the taste was somewhat lacking in flavor and kinda left me with a headache. Some of the sticks were a little more dry than I was expecting and the wrappers sometimes flaked off at the middle or wanted to start unwrapping. I should have known that the price was too low for the cigars to be of good quality. However this won't effect me making purchases in the future because this was just a trial to see if I would like them. From now on though I will likely stick to the higher rated brands that I like such as Punch, and macanudo.

Glad to see the pirate back at the helm...
Yo-ho-ho and long fillers too -- who can resist?

Pirates Gold - No Go
had pirates gold many times-always very good-this last order-the cigars felt dry & like wood in my hands-the outer wrapper is peeling-the cigar itself is plugged-not up to the company standers

definitely a winner
Great cigar for the money, I got the maduro because the natural/Connecticut was out of stock, would like to try the Natural wrapper ones

in even smoke with a rough draw that burns in even. I bought the robusto in the past and those were much better.

These are a regular in my humidor
I have smoked these and found very pleasing flavor and burn. I enjoy a good cigar with a bourbon or whiskey, even better with a cup of good coffee.

Starter Stick
These were the first cigars I bought, was not very educated on what I wanted. Was pleasantly surprised by this cigar. Thought with the Madura wrapper it might be overwhelming but quite the opposite. Nice relaxing 45 min smoke, even burn, pleasant aroma. Got a little burn at the end but I'm still learning! I would order them again.

Awesome right out of the box!!!
Usually, cigars may not be quite "smoke ready" as soon as I get them... but, usually, when I get a pack, i'll try one, just to get a sampling of what I will be enjoying after a few weeks in the humidor. Well, after trying the first one of these last week, I've had about 5, and they all burn great!!! This is great, as, I like to keep a nice mix of sticks as every day smokes. These will make a nice mild-medium "every day smoke". Excellent smoke!!! I'll definitely be getting these again real soon!!!

Time Waster Smoke
These are good if you're working outside on a project, but I wouldn't try to enjoy them with a good bottle of scotch. The price is right, but they were obviously not aged long. One thing they have going for them is that they do burn evenly and right down to the bottom, better than I've seen in the most expensive (and far overrated) cigars.

A great inexpensive cigar
I really enjoy Pirate's Gold. The price helps me a lot. But most of the time, 3-4 in every 20 pack either have wrapper that are so thin they disintergrate or they are rolled to tightly and can't draw. Besides that, I like 'em.

Pirate's Gold
I've always enjoyed cigars blended by Don Rolando Reyes and this one is no exception. Well made with flavour that always pleases. Not always the prettiest girl at the ball.....

A great bargain.
An inexpensive cigar that's actually good is difficult to find but that's exactly what we have here. Burns evenly and the taste is just slightly spicy. I've already ordered a second bundle.

All Around Contender
If I was forced to pick just one cigar to smoke, based on price, taste, satisfaction, and all-round every day smokeability, this one would undoubtedly be right up toward the top of my list. I enjoy these while involved in mundane chores, fishing trips, or even after as an after dinner smoke. One can occasionally have some burn issues, or loose spots, but overall, I think these are definitely on of the very best cigar bargains anywhere. I never tire of them.

Great cigar!
A great everyday cigar...not the most handsome, doesn't morph into spices or leathers but is a satisfying smoke for the backyard on weekend...will certainly purchase again!

Good Cigar at a Great Price
Pirate's Gold (Especial No. 2) is my go to daily cigar. The price is reasonable and the burn is almost always even. This is a lighter cigar that is smooth and leaves you wanting more when finished. I will typically bring a few extras along to give to friends and those that haven't smoked a Pirate's Gold yet will look at me funny at first and later comment how surprisingly good the cigar is.

Good everyday sticks!
Good price, as usual-quick service from Cigars International. Worth the price, but not as good as my usual everyday smoke which is Free Cuba.

Not a pleasant smoke
I have liked this cigar brand in the past, but this particular shape or something has been disappointing. It draws with difficulty and doesn't stay lit. Will not buy this again!

Pirate's Gold Rothschild Maduro
I like to try something different now and then, who knows; you might find something you like. These sticks were well made and burned well, but to me bitter, sharp, and unsatisfying.

Pirates Beware
The first couple of cigars were good. I thought I found a cheap everyday cigar, but then the outside wrapper started to fall apart as I smoked them. Now the last 3 smoked perfectly. No a consistently wrap cigar. Not sure if I would buy them again. I'm up in the air about them.

Pirate's gold are pure GOLD!
I bought these because my Father in law told me how much he liked them, and missed them, since they stopped making them. I saw they were back and bought a bundle to split with him. I'll be keeping the bundle and ordering another just for him! These are smooth and mellow with a nice even burn. They smoke like a more expensive cigar. For the price they cannot be beat.

good smoke.
There ok. I tried them because it was on clearance. Not a bad smoke. Burns well, not strong on the palaten in my opinion.

Pirate Gold Churchill
I was very disappointed the draw was bad could not enjoy the cigar. I have purchased pirate golds other selections one of the reasons was the draw was always consistent were I could enjoy the aroma and taste with the Churchill not at all. Though reasonably priced it was a waste of money stay away you'll be better off.

Cheap diner coffee. But enjoyable just the same.
It might be 3 star for flavor, but I give it 4 for the price. I got this in a grab bag. This is the first really cheap cigar I've smoked and I was surprised how much I liked it. It wasn't really complicated, not a lot of flavor, but it didn't taste bad. It was pretty smooth. I think of this as super weak, diner coffee. Enjoyable for the price.

Good cigar value, but better at the earlier price.
Pirate's Gold has an honest, good quality, fresh tobacco taste. However, other new cigars strongly compete with both taste and lower price.

Yarrrrrgh! They're good!
Love these Pirate's Gold maduro Robusto smokes! Good right off the truck, and even better with a couple months in the humidor, these make an affordable everyday smoke, and are good enough to kick back and enjoy after a nice dinner. These are truly a 'Pirate Treasure'.

Not Bad
Not a bad smoke for the money. There are better rolled sticks at this price point. The have gotten a little better after sittingin my hhumidor for a couple of weeks and the last one I had I enjoyed to where I thought I would order again.

Aarg matie, a little treasure from the booty chest
I've been wanting to try these for a while now and finally pulled the trigger and ordered. I didn't even wait to let them rest in my humidor when they arrived, I lit one right up. What a delightful smoke this is for the money. This made my 'go to' list.

Inconsistent Moisture
I have been a regular customer and buyer of Pirate's Gold brand cigars from you. They are a wonderful daily smoke made by the man who make Puros Indios. My only complaint is inconsistent moisture not only within the same order, but even within the same 20 stick bundle. Every 20 I lose 2-5 sticks that are either bad wraps that won't burn or extremely thin skinned wrappers that tear making smoking less than a pleasure. The flavor is excellent for what it is. Rolando uses great tobaccos that build nicely. I will not take my business away as everything about your firm is top notch. But I hope my bringing this to your attention might improve the consistency of your stock. Feel free to compensate me with CAO Anniversary Maduro Pyramids. They are delicious! ;-)

Pirate's Gold an Unburied Treasure
My choice is the robusto (Rothschild) size in a maduro wrapper. Pirate's Gold is a consistent pleaser that draws smoothly, tastes great, and is bargain priced. Cigar snobs should widen their horizons by trying this economical addition to the humidor.

Pirates gold is surely a hidden treasure
This was an extremely tasty cigar. Every stick had a nice burn and spiced rum flavor. Only one of my 20 sticks canoed and it was probably because all I had on me to light it was a zippo on a windy night. So was probably my fault if anything. Great cigar for a great price I would recommend it for bargain seekers who want a spicy smoke.

Pirate's Gold never disappoints. Excellent flavor, perfect for the golf course

Wrapped To Squeeze
I found that they were wrapped very tightly. Far too often they would not hold their burn. A fuller bodied cigar, it was nice for the short time they lasted. I like to allow my cigar to rest for a few moments between puffs, but with these, any attempt at rest would snuff them right out.

Perfect name
Pirates Gold in all its shapes is a steal! Full-flavored without being too strong, it's a great cigar to relax with. Good right down to the nub.

Customer Testimonials
Off the truck, the lanceros burned razor sharp. Great aroma. Leathery taste, peppery first third. Minor bitterness started to occur half way. I would slow down and it would go away, but in the last third it was noticeable. I think a few months in the humi or more will triple the enjoyment I get out of this one. I will happily smoke some before that when I fish or watch some HBO shows in the garage though. It is a good cigar I will rebuy. Construction was fantastic. Smoked it for an hour before I called it quits; could've lasted another 15-20 minutes.
For the money, you can't go wrong. Give them a try.
Got my first one because someone had a baby. I hadn't had a cigar in years and had the cigar with some brandy. I was hooked. Been smoking these for years now (Maduro). I usually have them in a humidor for months as I smoke my way through a bundle. I've since branched out to other cigars, but Pirate's Gold is still an excellent slow smoke for the money.
The Price is right. I've bought many bundles and never had a bad one. You can easily spend ten bucks and not get better! They have all been well made and are a consistent smoke. Also it has a pirate on the label.
Beyond what others have said, these tasty cigars have a long finish, a very long finish. The cigar leaves a very pleasing reminder on your palate for hours after smoking. one both more mellow, and more complex than the smoke itself. Personally, it's one of the reasons to like pirates gold. Smoke one after lunch and enjoy it all afternoon.
Pirate's Gold is one good smoking cigar. Taste good, slow burning, I am really impressed with this cigar.
I was looking for a less expensive everyday smoke when I ran across these beauties and red the write up. I decided to take a flyer and order a bundle. Let me tell you, it won't be my last. These are a mild to medium well made cigar. So far the burn has been even and holds a nice ash. The flavor starts out mild but the last half develops a hint of spice that is very enjoyable. I would compare it to a poor man's Nat Sherman HS. I recommend ordering a bundle.
Really? These have been around awhile and no reviews yet? Here's what I think needs to be said. I got one of these in a Brown Bag Sampler awhile back and decided it wouldn't be anything special as I sorted through the assortment of stogies I received. When the day came to actually smoke the thing was I surprised! I don't know about 'mild-medium' strength but it had plenty of flavor for someone who prefers a stronger taste in cigars like me. And such tasty flavor. I got numerous very nice cigars in that sampler but this one was the winner for me. I'm ordering a bundle as I write this.
Glad to see this nice cheap cigar back, especially the maduro. Once u get past the funky name they are pretty good....
