Pirata Pequenos are tasty little handmade treats that are custom-built for “in-between” times. Made from short filler tobaccos - leaves left from regular premium cigar production - these Pequenos are good quality, quick cigars at an exceptional price. Smooth and tasty with a slightly sweet cap, Pirata delivers an enjoyable handmade for pennies.
Love these little guys.
These are nice substitutes for the Rex Brittania, but I like the Rex's better. Where are my Rex's? Out of Stock? CI is a great company to deal with. Thanks for your hard work, Merry Christmas! Chris
Received an order of Pirata cigars the other day. I have smoked several and find them quite nice. They are a little bit rustic but smoke very well. Each is wrapped in cellophane and 8 to a tin. The tips are sweetened so there is a pleasant taste on your tounge before lighting. The smoke is about 1/2 to 3/4 hours. It was pleasent the whole time. will be puchasing more soon.
Lots of smoke and nice sweet cap for so little! I was surprised by these - did not expect much. But those Dominican leaves don't let you down. These will continue to stay in my rotation, especially for those long cold winter months. And great for "carting" around with the nice tin they come in. Kudo's CI, you've done it again.
A great quick smoke! Nice sweet cap and good amount of smoke. Granted, not the "prettiest" belle in your humidor, but then pirates rarely are. Will definitely buy again!
Love these for the price and surprising burn quality. Looks aren't everything. And I like the flavor. Wouldn't smoke something I didn't like. Make a great short smoke for the ride home from work or working in the garage. Been buying them for a couple of years now. Show me a cheaper (hand made) cigar that smokes this good and I'll try it.
I'm a sweet/infused cigar guy to begin with, so the sweet tips of these don't bother me at all and I actually prefer the sweetness. These are great with coffee in the morning or for a short lunch-break smoke. I get around 20 minutes out of one of these if I'm not sucking it down in a hurry. They are rough rolled and every now and then I'll get a funny burn, but not that often. They are also easy enough to light with a soft-flame if that's of any concern to you.
My only complaint is that listing these as 4" x 40 is a bit disingenuous. While some of these might come out to 40 ring-gauge at the bulge right in the middle, they're really much closer to 30 or 32 at the head and foot. I know this is the nature of the free-hand rolling, but I think 4" x 32 would be much more honest advertising of these.
Either way, great quick sweet smoke for the price!
Not bad at all for what they are, got what I expected from reading the other reviews and cant complain. Smoke one every night as I lay down to watch Mash, before I go to sleep.
I have to agree with some of the comments about not expecting a premium smoke for such a discounted price. Nevertheless, these little smokes can hang. They are definitely made from quality tobacco, and they burn evenly and smoke well. You can't beat the price, and if you only have time for a short smoke, these are the way to go. Like any other free-rolled stick, they will look a bit banged up, but trust me: they've got GREAT PERSONALITY.
So you have a good short smoke for not a lot of loot, AND there's a pirate on the logo. I mean really, it doesn't get much better than that!
These are great little freehand-rolled cigars for a short smoke. They burn well and taste great. I really like the sweet cap.
Good cheap smoke. If you are expecting to compare it to a higher priced stick you will be disappointed, but for the price you pay these little guys are great. Use it for the times you crave a smoke but a longer and more expensive cigar would be overkill.
I love a cup of coffee in the morning, but even more than that I love a smoke to go with it. I got these as a Christmas present and decided to substitute them as my morning smoke today, and I loved it. The appearance was a tad ugly, but I can get over that in the mornings. The construction is a bit loose and the burn a bit uneven, but if you can get over that the draw and plentiful amount of smoke is great. The taste was mild and gave hints of charcoal through the nose (went great with black coffee). Best of all they make a great gift since the art on the tin is nice, and the price is unbeatable.
Just tried these after trying the "Britannia" tins...these are a much better smoke all around...constructed well, tho some are a tad loose, but, most of them were good, burn evenly, and taste pretty darn good, too.
Great price, good everyday smoke. I would definitely buy these again.
I left a tin of these in my cabin over the winter and decided to light one up yesterday; It smoked perfectly and I knew that I had found a fun little kick around cigar.
If the next 39 hold up to the taste and quality of the first one I am going to be one happy camper.
These little guys are good! Slightly sweet, hints of cocoa and spice and mild, oh so mild. If the next 39 hold up to the standard set by the first I will be ordering these regularly.
Thanks CI, you guys have done it again!
it's no gourmet cigar but not half bad for a cheapie I could gnaw on and a decent smoke...esp for the cost
strong taste but horrible construction. don't waste your money.
