Perdomo Lot 23

Beautiful, right down to the price.

The Perdomo Lot 23 cigar brand refers to a field of special tobaccos cultivated in the year 2000. That was when Nick Perdomo planted an experimental crop on a virgin field which he called Lot 23. This field produced a very small crop of tobaccos, and these tobaccos, 6 years later, were carefully blended together to create a unique Nicaraguan handmade.

So there you have it. Lot 23 cigars are filled and bound solely by tobaccos grown on one, small field. The wrapper is a caramel-brown Connecticut-seed leaf from the 5th and 6th priming that serves up ample creaminess. The fillers, a rich blend of dark Nicaraguan tobaccos bound by a robust Nicaraguan binder. The result: a super-smooth, medium-bodied cigar with enjoyable hints of espresso and nuts.

Perdomo Lot 23 recently received a 90-point rating, which commented: "An oily robusto with a great draw. It has a very leathery core complemented by cedar, coffee, and orange peel notes. Rich and tasty."

Note: Perdomo Lot 23 has received a packaging update. We currently have a mix of old & new packaging, so you may receive either. Rest assured, the cigars are the same, only the packaging has changed.

Perdomo Lot 23 is a great cigar. Consistent, well wrapped, burns well. Its tasty, too! For me this is a medium-plus in body and pairs nicely with black coffee.

Great Connecticut Cigar
What a delicious and smoke filled cigar. I see this becoming my go to stogie. It burns slow and even and really satisfies.

The surviving ones were good...
Cigars that were good were great but 2 out of the 5 were falling apart an unrolling when taken out of the wrapper. Couldn't salvage them. Otherwise 5/5.

Prefer the Maduro.
These were far too mild for my taste but I do enjoy the Lot 23 Maduros. A lot 23 Maduro Lancero would be interesting...

Perdomo Lot 23 quality
I have had good experience with Perdomo Lot 23s but this order seemed a bit dried out. I also purchased some Padron cigars which were great quality. Unfortunately the Perdomo wrappers cracked open and peeled off as I smoked the cigar.

How, how, how can Mars make such wonderful candy bars...
Exceeds my burning leaf budget but every cigar smoker should be a personal witness to Perdomo furthering the craftsmanship of consistently producing such a superior product.

Nice surprise
I smoke maduro cigars almost exclusively and when I got this in a promo pack I thought just another Connecticut that I will not like. But what a surprise! This is a fine cigar with a lot of flavor, good construction and burn. I was please to see that it had Nicaraguan tobacco which is practically a must for me....This stick will not disappoint any palate.

Very enjoyable!
Classy cigar. Creamy, buttery, toasty and well-crafted, this may be my favourite cigar. Do yourself a favour and try one! You'll not be disappointed...

Sleeper worth buying
Normally I like a 6 x 60, but was looking for a nice smoke that would last about 45 min or so. I was pleasantly surprised by this stick. Well constructed, burns very good, great ash and a nice taste. Some cream and nut taste were present for me. My wife came out to the deck where I was smoking and commented on how great the aroma was! I will be buying a box soon.

Holds well in humidor, great draw, 30-40 minute cigar, consistently a crowd favorite, first cigar gone at cookouts.

The cigars were great.. I think they should have been shipped with some kind of humidor item to make sure they stayed fresh

Punches way out of its weight class...
Exceptional value. Smoked this in a sampler and I will be adding a box of this to my humidor. Agree with JH's suggestion to use a guillotine vs v-cut... Flavor profile is very much improved.

Flavor meets value
Really flavorful without being overpowering, the Lot 23 has become a fast favorite for me. I'm giving it four stars because suggests perfection- but at this price point, these cigars are exceptional.

5 stars in my book
What a pleasant surprise. The Lot 23 Belicoso caught me off guard. What a beautiful cigar and the quality is top notch. Each cigar burned evenly with perfect draw. I found myself wanting to smoke another after finishing. Absolutely wonderful cigar. The Lot 23 will always have a spot in my humidor. I can't wait to explore the other options Perdomo has to offer.

Good value
I purchased these as a small addition to my order of other cigars. Having done so I wished to quantities were reversed. I find these cigars very satisfying, with a consistent taste throughout, good smoke, even draw. I feel these more be a familiar cigar in the ole golf bag. Worth the price and planning to re-order

Great way to start the day
Great breakfast stick! Easy draw, straight burn, a good volume of smoke, tight ash. Definatly better with a few months of rest, yet still a bit non descript on the flavor. A medium body with a lot of cream and subtle nuances of citrus, nuts, and maybe vanilla. Robusto goes about 40 mins. Burns cool through all thirds, even if you're in a hurry. Pairs well with Colombian coffee. I'm making this a "go to" in my morning routine.
Customer Testimonials
I am not a big fan of Perdomo, but after smoking this cigar I will be buying a box very soon. GREAT FLAVOR PROFILE. Very enjoyable smoke; comes on strong and mellows at the end.
SH of pittsburgh, PA
Without a doubt one of the best cigars I've ever smoked. The flavor and aroma were just absolutely outstanding. I can't say enough good things about this stick. In my opinion, anybody who smokes cigars should have a couple of these in their humidor.
PE of Naperville, IL
MMM MMM Good. Just got the Robusto today and put them in the humidor. Could not wait, so I poured a Glenmorangie and fired one up while washing the wife's car. It would so good and tasty. I am sure I will order more because the car always needs washing.
GM of Douglasville, GA
My buddy always is smoking the Perdomo Lot 23, so I had to try one. I'm glad I did! This stick is a great value, great smoke, smooth with espresso and very nutty, I've personally stated its creamy but have been told I'm crazy.
This smoke is superb. Surprisingly smooth medium body that delights from the first puff. The easy draw gives a rich, pleasing taste of peppery wood followed by a blissful lingering sweetness on the palate. Chocked full of the good leaf and a cooperative burn all the way down. A tear will fall when this burns your fingers and you know it's over...for now. Stay smokey my friends.
AH of Sicklerville, NJ
Nice dense cigar. It is a really nice smoke. The final third is where it's at for me. It takes on very flavorful, woody, leathery notes at the end. So much so, I dreaded putting it down. It was a finger-burner for me.
ND of Morristown, TN
I definitely enjoyed the Perdomo Lot 23, Connecticut. I like the hint of citrus flavor and it has an aroma that's bread-like. A really good cigar. I would buy it again. The maduro was not as exciting as the Connecticut. It needed a little more of something!
EW of Virginia Beach, VA
Im am fairly new to the cigar world so I do not have a refined palet, but I know what I like, and I like this smoke. When people say its mild to medium they are spot on. This is my go to for a affordable smoke that I can enjoy in any company or situation. This will be the first box of sticks I stock my humidor with.
RT of Nottingham, MD
Been smoking these for a few years now and it keeps coming back as my favorite everyday cigar. Tons of flavor for the price and the quality of the cigar and smoke are always excellent. Hard to believe its not a 90+ cigar!
AC of Cicero, NY
This cigar has been great time after time. Coffee and peanuts. Very tasty and for the price, you can't beat it. Nicky P Rocks!!
Is anyone else having trouble with the rings being hard to remove? I have 10 Robustos that I got on the daily deal, and the paper rings seem like they are on too tight and very difficult to tear off. Every cigar has been the same so far.
TV of State College, PA
The guy at the local smoke shop is like "don't you ever smoke anything else?" I ask him "Do you have a better cigar for the price?" "No."
BV of Columbia, TN
I have smoked many many cigars in my life and this is one of the few that comes to mind when asked what I like. A real delight!
SB of Merced, CA
Great smoke at a reasonable above average price.
JT of Powhatan, VA
Great cigar with an excellent smoking experience. Generous smoke, nice even burn, no touch ups required. Other folks describe it as mild, but there is a bit of pepper throughout that put it more in the moderate side of the house. I was very impressed with this stick and will buy more. Definitely in the class of a $6+ cigar. Recommended.
TS of Rowlett, TX
Pound for Pound...this cigar beats out those that have 90+ ratings...why? Beautiful volumes of smoke, great through the nose which reminds me of nutmeg, great white ash and this cigar never runs or canoes due to the great binder and wrapper. I always keep at least 15 in the humidor...I'll smoke one per about aging if you rotate them! Buy a 5-pack and you will be very pleased with your spent mooloah...oh, use a regular guilitone cutter and not a V cutter...I've found that on this particular cigar, it really opens even more so...and I'm one to always use a V Cutter!
JH of Mena, AR
This Cigar was very pleasant. It was very mild and mellow, which I like. It held a decent ash and burned flawlessly. It billowed smoke that was aromatic and non-offensive. I suggest this Cigar to anyone who enjoys a mild and smooth smoking experience.
PZ of Scranton, PA
I am not generally a mild cigar fan. Yet, for some reason I really enjoy the lot 23. It has very complex flavor profiles for such a mild cigar. You will taste the nut, the creaminess, the orange, leather, a little coffee and a nice spicy-sweet finish. It won't shock you, but you will find yourself smoking it all the way down wondering how such a mild cigar can push through so many subtle flavors. I recently smoked a RP Connecticut and I can tell you that this cigar stands head and shoulders above it. I suppose I am not the perfect person to offer this review, but I say give it a try.
MW of Fort Worth, TX
Big fan of Perdomo. I like everything I have tried from the Perdomo line. The Lot 23 is one of the better cigars. Beautiful cigar, nice burn and about medium strength. As with all Perdomo cigars, this is priced right.
DM of Haverford, PA
The Lot 23 is a nice, enjoyable cigar with an excellent draw, firm ash and dead-even burn. Brought down to the bottom line, it's a Perdomo. I found it to be about a medium cigar with what I call a good, tobacco flavour..I'm afraid I'm not able to pick out orange peels, shoe strings and lotus tastes like a good, reasonably priced cigar.
MM of Leesburg, VA
By far one of my favorite cigars. I tried one from a Perdomo sampler, and it's probably going to be my regular smoke for a while (just ordered more today). The aroma is great, it tastes great, but the aftertaste (which I generally don't like with cigars) isn't bad either... Seems kind of nutty/chocolaty to me.
BH of Kannapolis, NC
This is my go to cigar. The only way I can describe the smooth mellow flavor I get from this smoke is a vanilla milk shake, Yeah that creamy! A cup of coffe and a Perdomo Lot 23, that's the begining of a wonderful day. Buy some- you won't be disapointed.
DM of New Orleans, LA
I'm 58 and have been smoking cigars since I was 19. I bought a box of Lot 23 cigars (Toro size) and they are possibly one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. That's saying a lot. I also bought some Pardomo seconds that are very tasty as well. I'm fond of Henry Clay and Cuba Aliatos (no longer made) and Licenciados to give you a sample of my tastes. The Perdomos are excellent!
PP of San Francisco, CA
Got a 10 pak last week and just sparked one up as I watched the sun go down drinking a cold Heineken. Must say I am very pleased. Very flavorful, most enjoyable. Can't wait to hand one of these to my brothers when we go out and play golf next week. Way to go CI.
CB of Albuquerque, NM
"Momma there goes that man again" is all I have to say. I had one the puppies for my 18th wedding anniversary and it was Dyn-o-mite all the way down to the nub. Would sombody call Havana and put them boys on notice that Nick is down for Da Crown. Your stock is rising #23........
MH of Wellesley, MA
I'm a guy that likes to taste different cigars so I have purchased a number of samplers from CI. In on of the Perdomo samplers I purchased recently came the (Perdomo Lot 23), while I have always enjoyed Perdomo smokes, the Lot 23 seemed rather mundane, no outstanding artwork on the band, rather lackluster I presumed, that is until I fire this rascal up. Hey, I was impressed, this cigar was medium in strength and extreamly flavorful, I don't like to describe what I tasted since I'm a believer in everyone taste something different, but this bugger was excellent. A great smoke. As I said, I buy a lot of Samplers, not this time. Went right to the computer and placed my order for a box of 23's. Never had a regular cigar before, I might have found one though! Nick, another great addition to an already fine line.
PR of Baton Rouge, LA
I was very impressed with this cigar.Perdomo Lot 23 I actually was not expecting much, but it really caught my attention with just how tasty it was. Tons of complex flavor without being obtrusive or the slightest bit harsh. Hard to describe how smooth this thing was with just great earthy, grassy kinds of flavor. It opened up within the first 1/2", whereas most take a full 1" IMO. I bought a single torpedo at my local B&M shop, and let it age for about 3 months. It was really nice and well hydrated when I smoked it. I will definitely buy more . . . from CI.
RL of Brownwood, TX
This is a earthy cigar to say the least, the perdomo lot 23 church is hill a touch above medium body, it realy is a nice lookin cigar, not too spicey,[ i do like a little more spice in a cigar] creamy brown sugar hints through out. but the earth dominates, with a light mushroom undertone ,its never harsh, i think any one who wants to move from mild to a little fuller in body this is it.i smoked 1 of thes 3 straight days, thats a good sign. i liked the earthiness enough to return to it in short order.also ,every once in a while i tasted a floral note that reminded me of the perdomo champaign reserve. and when you consider the price , its hard to go wrong here. in fact, this is the best medium body smoke ive had in a while.
JS of hamilton, OH
I absolutely love the Perdoma Lot 23's. I bought a couple of singles to try out and just about fell out of my chair. I immediately ordered up a box... then a second. These will be a staple in my humidor for years to come. Love the peppery spice and the smooth, creamy smoke. Keep'em coming CI!
BL of Hesperia, CA
The smell of a freshly plowed tobacco field.Perdomo Lot 23 Maduro That's what this great cigar smells like. I've been there, and when you unwrap one of these babies you will too. The Perdomo Lot 23 is amazing. The closest to smoking a great Dominican or even Cuban cigar right at the factory you will get right now. Like I said, I've been there. Amazing pre-light aroma, smokes perfect, tastes perfect, looks perfect. Get your meathooks on some of these gems from Perdomo.
ST of Brandon, FL
Unique set of flavors you won't find in other cigars, it takes 2 or 3 smokes to appreciate the complex flavor in this fine puro. (Perdomo Lot 23) Well made, great draw with a slow even burn it offers a nice change in your humidor selection. Solid 89/ maybe 90 rating when humidor rested a month or more. I confess that I like everything from Perdomo and prefer Nicaraguan blends for their rich tobacco taste.
SH of Saint Petersburg, FL
The Lot 23 is a nice smoke, I had tried one with anticipation as I am a real fan of Perdomo cigars. This is a wonderful smoke... it's chompy nutty flavor has cocoa hints and a wondrous bouquet. This is a great after the rain stick. Lit in a humid environment you get all the flavor... and aroma. Enjoy with a short cappuccino or vintage Napoleon Brandy. My Rate This Stick: 89
CS of Southern, CA
It is with great regret that I was too slow to order the recent 10 pack special of the Perdomo Lot 23 Toro Naturals that were on sale. I had waited to try the one (Churchill) that I had on hand. I didn't realize exactly what I was missing, until I fired one up this afternoon, basking in the sunshine while enjoying a local Guiness-like microbrew Porter Ale. I think the expression "down to the nub" should be retired, but I was about singeing myself getting to the last bit of this cigar. Maybe it was the spring-like weather, the unexpected good brew ... but this cigar was really enjoyable. I hope a new special on the maduros will come up soon!
SP of Northern, VA
The "Perdomo Lot 23", has been on my list for awhile now, so i finally broke down and ordered some. Better late than never. I was very impressed with the entire package. Everything from the burn to the construction. I was blown away by the flavor, quite different than so many cigars, that taste well... like some other stick. It was unique. Leather, coffee with a nutty flavor with some cedar and here's the kicker... a orange zestiness that i've never experienced before. If complexity is what you desire, this medium bodied cigar is for you. I can't say enough about this labor of love. You'll have to try it for yourself. "Perdomo Lot 23", will be a new staple in your humi. No B.S., ENJOY.
VB of San Francisco, CA
The first 1/3 of this cigar (Perdomo Lot 23) was one of the most intense I have ever had. It easily equalled Rocky Patel's Edge. After the first 1/3 it mellowed out nicely. The aroma from beginning to end was very pleasant. I will have to try another one to see if I get the same intensity (which was borderline dangerous!) or if it really is a mild-medium cigar as advertised.
NE of Gig Harbor, WA
This cigar(Perdomo Lot 23) is perfectly constructed with a perfectly shaped cap and a very smooth wrapper. The burn is very even and the draw is just right. This medium bodied cigar is perfect for the early to late afternoon, and at close to six dollars a stick is a great deal.

Perdomo Lot 23

Steve R

Nick Perdomo is widely known for his super-high-end handmades, including Edicion de Silvio, ESV '91 and the amazing La Tradicion series. However, some of our top-selling brands happen to be his value-priced blends, like Slow-Aged Lot 826 and Tierra del Sol. It's clear, Tabacalera Perdomo can craft a top-notch smoke for enthusiasts of all shapes, sizes and incomes. He furthers this point with Perdomo Lot 23, a beautiful Nicaraguan blend with a generous, middle of the road price point.

Here’s the scoop. Perdomo Lot 23 is named after a small farm owned by Nick Perdomo. On this farm, every leaf of tobacco found in every Lot 23 cigar is grown. One may think, so what’s the big deal? In the words of Nick himself, “lemme tell ya something...” The luxury of using tobaccos from multiple farms aids consistency. If a certain crop from one farm is bad or doesn’t provide the color, quality or flavor needed to make a particular cigar, the maker can easily use leaves grown from another farm to deliver the same experience you’ve become accustomed to. Nick does not have this luxury with Lot 23, but his strict quality control measures combined with an uncanny ability to grow superior tobaccos with each crop more than make up for it.

Note: For the full story on creating this cigar, click here.

If you haven’t figured it out by now, I thoroughly enjoy Perdomo Lot 23. I’ve burned my way through two boxes and am currently 8 cigars into my third. (The price point makes this pleasantly cumbersome habit quite convenient – more on that later.) Each cigar has performed perfectly. A perfect draw, razor sharp burn, smooth, cool flavor and amazing consistency. Every cigar has been medium-bodied from start to finish, coating my palate with rich, creamy flavors. Peanuts and light espresso are apparent, with a subtle earthiness at the end. No twists and turns here, just a solid, straightforward flavor that’s far from boring. This truly is a cigar you can puff on all day long; believe me, I’ve been doing it for weeks.

The best thing about Lot 23 is the price. The MSRP ranges from $4.25 to $5 a stick! Of course, we then sell it for even less. Because of this, Perdomo Lot 23 scores huge points in my book.
