Perdomo Estate Seleccion Vintage Maduro

An unbeatable maduro

There’s a common myth in the cigar world: that you want the freshest cigars possible. While some premiums are ready as soon as they hit the shelves, most sticks benefit a ton from taking a long rest in a properly maintained humidor. Want me to put my money where my mouth is? Grab one of these Estate Seleccion Vintage offerings from Nick Perdomo, and you’ll see just how good properly aged tobaccos can be.

It’s hard to pick a favorite out of these three blends, but if you’re a fan of rich, bold blends, than Estate Seleccion Vintage Maduro is going to be your choice. The wrapper reminds me of dark chocolate, and it carries right through to the flavor. The Nicaraguan long-fillers bring the spice, and all together this cigar is a perfect marriage of cedar, coffee, and earthiness that you’ll only find in the best maduros. Jump on this one, friends, before they all disappear.

Good Stick
I've bought this stick and kept it in my humidor for a month. Upon further research, I've discovered that the Estate Seleccion series are aged for over a year before they are shipped out to ensure they give a great experience. The first third had peppery taste that I think could have been toned down a bit. Still into the first third, the pepper taste toned down into an extremely smooth leather and earthy smoke. This lasted all through the second third as well. In the final third, the pepper came back into the picture. Where some points came off was that I had to touch it up a couple times and I think the pepper flavor was just a tad too much however this is still a great stick.

A very pleasant surprise
My experience with Perdomo Cigars has always left me Scratching my head. They are usually 80% good and 20% bad, in the same cigar!! This Estate Reserve is simply well done. Perfectly constructed with a perfect draw. And, taste is spot on for what it aims to be, a full-flavored rich cigar. No bitterness and no awkward flavors that I often get with Perdomo Cigars. Well done Nick!!!
