Padilla San Andres

Padilla’s mighty maduro.

Padilla hits all the right notes with his highly-rated blends, and this new release keeps the hit parade going. Enter Padilla San Andres, the new dark maduro chart topper from the gifted hands of Ernesto Padilla.

Straight outta the Raices Cubanas factory in Honduras, Padilla San Andres comes draped in an oily San Andres maduro wrapper sitting over a blend of Nicaraguan Aganorsa long-fillers. This medium to full-bodied stick is flawlessly constructed featuring entubado rolling and a triple cap. Upon lighting, you’ll be greeted by flavors of chocolate, spice, earth, wood, and leather that sets the table for an enjoyable blend.

Very dry cigars
After 2 days in a 72% RH humidor, the first cigar was so dry it completely unraveled and was unsmokable. I called and CI advised a longer stay in a humidor may help but suggested these cigars, being hand-made are expected to have a personality (my term) and should recover. I've never rec'd cigars that were so dry they couldn't be smoked. After 3 weeks in a humidor, the 2nd cigar was fine, but the 3rd had a problem. Like the cigar, price, and a 5 cigar sample was a good way to sample but I would not buy a box considering how unsatisfactory 3 of the 5 sample were. Storage or manufacturing? I can't tell.
