The Ozgeners strike again!
The Ozgener family has made many a fine cigar. Unveiling their new company, Oz Family Cigars, in 2022 alongside multiple A+ blends, they made quite the splash. However, things laid dormant for a while, allowing the smoke to settle, then from the ashes rose the Oz Family Aramas! Named after Mount Ararat, which borders multiple countries within the Middle East, the Oz Family Aramas is an homage to Tim Ozgener's father, Cano, intended as a tribute to his hard work and dedication to friendships over the years.
Blend-wise, the Aramas features a Mexican San Andres wrapper atop an Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, with filler leaves from Nicaragua, The Dominican Republic, and the good ol' USA. The Aramas is the first cigar from the Ozgener family to be made at Ernesto-Perez Carillo's Tabacalera La Alianza S.A. factory, and the quality certainly shows. While the cigar has a classic and rustic feel, the experience is anything but, with rich notes of cocoa, espresso, creaminess, nuttiness, and a touch of pepper for added complexity and balance.
Great news! The Oz Family Family Aramas has received a 91-point rating, with the review noting: There is no denying the unmistakable notes of earth and coffee that this dark torpedo offers. It develops into a more complex smoke smacking of espresso, dark chocolate and leather before the licorice finish."
