Mac Baren's Mixture - Scottish Blend is another long-time favorite from the respected Danish tobacco company.  The blend itself utilizes a variety of cuts and types of Virginias, which add sweetness to the mix. A helping of mellow Burleys are added to help it burn well, and Cavendish is included to round out the flavor. The "Scottish" part is due to the fact that there's some Scotch whisky in the flavors that are infused into the tobacco for a subtly-sweet taste and pleasant room-note.

Purchased thru C.I. with amazing fast shipping. This tobacco is part of Mac Baren's Classics line-up and is advertised as a blend of 35 Virginias and Burleys from all over the globe. The tin shipped to me was packed in August 2021 and smelled divine - pure tobacco goodness. It is indeed a ready rubbed tobacco mixture. Supposedly, there is a splash of Scotch Whiskey in this tobacco but that scent was not present. This tin was real difficult to open but a can opener ended up getting it done. It is packed tight and seemed a bit moist, so I rubbed out the mixture further before the pack. Packing and char light went fine. Excellent expansion noted on the char light. This one tends to burn hot, so pay attention and sip it along very gently. The smoking experience is one of the smoothest I have had in the Mac Baren line-up and it is indeed sublime with hints of chocolate, leather, perhaps coffee or hazelnut in it. An enchanting mix on the palate. A very small bite is there in the background if you hit it too hard, so that cost a half ratings point. Burned right down to the bottom as ash with no dottle. Great smoking experience. The tobacco is advertised as an aromatic, but like almost all of the rest Classics line, the room note really isn't there. It is rich tobacco all the way. This means potential banishment to the porch or garage (who cares?), but wherever you go, this will make it worth it. Bottom line: this is a 4.5-star to 5-star blend from Mac Baren that stands as a superior value - one well worth trying and not overly priced either. This tobacco is part of my regular line-up of suspects that keeps me coming back - and you will too. Give it a try.

A very light aero that changes flavor throughout the smoke. This blend would probably be enjoyed by many who don't lean towards aeros.
