A Standing Ovation for Erik Eapinosa!
Erik Espinosa deserves a standing ovation for this hour thrill-ride if a stick! Construction… Gorgeous. Draw… Perfect. Smoke… LOTS! I retrohaled on the first draw and the initial pepper blast brought me to attention. The cigar then quickly mellowed into a medium body with creamy notes of cedar and earth. At the midway point I picked up some notes of citrus which was a nice surprise. As I moved into the final third it transitioned into a very smooth, creamy nuttiness. I picked this cigar up in a 601 sampler but now have my eye on a crate of 80. This is the perfect example of a cigar that delivers far more value than what you pay for it. If you don't try this one, you are truly missing out.

Not the cigar I remember
I don't know if this cigar was reblended but the one I just smoked was much different from the ones I smoked when this cigar first came out. The flavor from the most recent La Zona had a very loose draw and burned very fast. Honestly I thought I was smoking a short filler cigar. The flavor was paper with a mild clove that left my mouth very dry. I was surprised because the cigar was very oily with a noticeable barnyard scent. Very mild with no changes. Really kind of disappointing.
Customer Testimonials
This one came in a 601 sampler. It had perfect draw, thick smoke, and tasted great. Perfect small 30 min cigar. I smoked this one down to the nub. Was able to keep ash more than 1/2 way through without being gentle. Great cigar.
Received one of these in a 601 sampler. For some reason I decide to use a punch instead of a cut, which I believe was a wise decision. At the present I have a inch and a half ash on it, with a perfect burn. Picking up cedar through the nostril, with a floral woodsy flavor. Based on construction, even burn, and smooth flavor to the end I would rate this an 89. Worth having some in the humidor.
Got one in a 601 sampler pack and boy was this thing tasty. Flavor all the way through and smelled great.
Got one when I order from the 5 star sampler (601 Serie 5-Star II Sampler). When I took it out of the wrapper my immediate first thought was cocoa. I had to light it up cuz it smelled that good. tastes as good as it smells. Right out of the gate you get great flavor and tons of smoke. Very smooth and creamy to start and then you'll notice the slightest of spice. It's very subtle though. The draw was almost perfect and the burn was great. I have to say that it stayed consistent right through to the nub. I really enjoyed this cigar. You owe it to yourself to try one.
First time trying them and impressed, med-full body taste and consistent all the way with no hot spots or sweet was good and I'll get a bundle next time.
