LPH delivers again
Excellent. Rich, thick smoke with sweet tones. Slow smoking ... nice. Torpedo is best for a long leisurely smoke, but the robusto is thick enough to give a reasonably long smoke.

Not one that I will reorder.
It was impossible to injoy these cigars as about 1 or 2 in each 5 pack was packed so tightly, the draw was impossible and it required constant re-lighting. This negated any pleasure I may have injoyed with the flavor and relaxing experience of a good smoke. They would be a good choice for a person who just likes to hold or chew their cigar.

Good everyday.
Great smoke for those times you are doing things around the house and you don’t have time to sit and really enjoy your smoke. So you grab one of these.

THIS WIDE SHOULD HAVE WIDE APPEAL
VERY NICE SIZE AND HEFT TO THE 6X60 SIZE. THE WRAPPER HAD THE APPEARANCE OF A VERY RUSTIC CIGAR;ALOT OF RIDGES AND STEMS THAT GAVE A ROUGH APPEAL. THIS SURPRISED ME FROM A LA PERLA PRODUCT AS I HAVE PREVIOUSLY EXPERIENCED THEM. THE DRAW IS EASY BUT HAS A LITTLE RESISTANCE THAT MAKES FOR A PLEASANT EXTRACTION OF THE FLAVOURFUL SMOKE. IT BURNS EVENLY, EVEN THOUGH A FASTER THAN ONE WOULD THINK A RING SIZE OF THIS GIRTH MIGHT, ENOUGH THAT IT DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY LIGHTER MANAGEMENT FOR WHEN IT STARTS TO BURN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER THE OTHER SIDE CATCHED UP IN SHORT ORDER. THE TASTES ONE GETS SEEM TO BE PREDOMINENTLY WOOD AND SPICE AND I HAVE HAD A HINT OF PEANUT ON MORE THAN ONE. THE BIGGEST SADNESS FOR ME THAT THERE IS HARDLY ANY BUZZ ASSOCIATED WITH THE CIGAR ; NO REAL NICOTINE JOLT TO SPEAK OF AT ALL. THIS IS QUITE A BIT MILDER THAN I HAD HOPED. IT IS NOWHERE NEAR THE FULL FLAVOUR RANGE, SO IF ONE IS HOPING IT WILL BE MORE OF A TOBACCO BLAST THEY WILL BE DISAGREEABLY SURPRISED. LEAVES A NICE TASTE ON THE TONGUE AND PROVES TO BE A GREAT VALUE. CANNOT GO WRONG ON THIS ONE

Wide on Flavor....
Amazing smoke with rich full flavors. Probably the longest smoke I ever had before it "turned." Only complaint is that I keep bands in a cigar related book with notes and this band is very hard to get off--well glued and too long to light while still on.

Simply enjoyable
This cigar is all around enjoyable. A well balanced cigar with good draw and just the right hit of flavor. No two notes overpower each other leading to....just a darn enjoyable smoke.

I have been smoking La Perla Habana Wide Toro for over a year. Very good taste and aroma. I have given some to some friend's of mine who said too me that it was one of the best cigar's that they ever smoked. I do believe that say's a lot for La Perla Habana Wide.

la Perla Habana WIDE toro
You would like to ask what I thought about this cigar.. I feel that this cigar was a nicely blended cigar that I can smoke at anytime of the day morning, noon and night.. I tried it with a cup of coffee and then with a nice glass of scotch.. It just blended in and made the experience rewarding.. I like the nuances and notes it gave.. It seems to me to have a little peppery taste towards the end of the smoke.. I also found the while sharing this cigar with my friends. Whom all have different tastes.. That we all enjoyed smoking this cigar together and having a great time together.! I would support and encourage anyone whom likes to smoke cigars with a group of friends to try this cigar! It's a great time! You can't go wrong even when smoking by ones self! Good luck and have fun!

La Perla WIDE is "big" on flavor
While I'm not a fan of larger ring gauges, I am a fan of La Perla in general. The WIDE in robusto is only 55 gauge which is the smallest WIDE gauge. This blend was recommended to me even though I normally stick to the Morado blend these days. I was surprised to enjoy it as much as I did. The strength was not overwhelming and the favors were plentiful. I enjoyed it and look forward to the three left out of my five-pack.

Great taster!!
I actually got a 10 pack! It was great right out of the box. Great flavor, good burn and well constructed. Really smooth and will have more in future. Oh, I usually share some of my smokes with friends but am keeping these for myself except for piano player in band!!!!

I first smoked this cigar when I received one at cigarfest two years ago. I fell in love it with it, it lasts a long time and a great smoke all the way to the end. Get some you won't be disappointed.
Customer Testimonials
Just smoked the torpedo. As usual with LPH, great construction and voluminous smoke. Burned fairly even, almost needed one touch-up but it self corrected eventually. Ash was a little flaky. Flavor and aroma were outstanding in the first half. Battled some mild harshness in the 2nd half, but going slow and blowing out once in a while kept it in check. In the last 2 to 3 inches it got hot, actually burned my lip a little with over 2 inches left. Overall it's a good cigar, another job well done by LPH.
My first taste of this cigar was from the CoTM club and it was very much enjoyed. Not sure how this is a near full body cigar, I'm the type to hang out on the milder side, but I love how smooth and tasty these sticks are...time to queue up for another box.
Another GREAT smoke!
This cigar surpassed my expectations for the price this cigar has become one of my favorites.
Yummy! A cigar with nutty flavors and nice balance. Mild in spices but very tasty. It is buttery smooth! I like this one.

You recognize that mug to the left of this review? You should. No, I’m not that cocky of a fellow. But I am the poor schmuck who got dubbed John Freebie in the catalog. An event that has forever changed my life… alas, It hasn’t been all bad. I quickly became a bit of a CI celebrity. For starters, the Bethlehem locals love me. When I go to the bar, people shout, “hay…you…you that guy from the catawog…from international cigars place.” Close enough, yeah…that’s me. And besides riveting conversations at the bar, I’ve also made quite a bit of headway with the ladies. Man…I really started cleaning up. Both my Mom and my Grandmother put me up on their fridge. I never got that kind of attention before. But now, a new chapter of my time at CI is being written right now. That’s right, this is my first staff review. No more coffee runs and cleaning the bathrooms for me, I’m in the big leagues. I better not botch this too bad, or the days of rockin’ Scrubbing Bubbles cologne is just around the corner.

For the longest time, the boss man has been giving me the hairy eyeball to do a staff review. So, after he damn near had a conniption-fit, I knew I better get my rear in gear. I made my selection, and began writing at a feverish clip. But then Jeff threw the new La Perla Habana WIDE on my desk, and like all new product, I had to give it a whirl. After just a few puffs, I deleted what I had jogged down and started over. This, I decided, was the perfect cigar for my first review.

To be blunt, big ring cigars aren’t my bag. My max is usually around a 55-56 (luckily the Robusto in the line is a 55-ring, for the guys out there that feel the same way). So you can understand my hesitation when I went to snip this 5.5”x62 chunky Torpedo. A quick snip on my part revealed a draw that was just right – not too tight and not too loose – a perfect medium. The cigar itself felt solid too, packed with tobaccos and containing only one soft spot. The pre-light draw was chocolaty, slightly sweet, and had a bit of a hay-like note. I quickly toasted the foot, and lit it with ease. I took a puff or two, and after the third…I was hooked. Rich, smooth, and dense smoke immediately swarmed my palate. A nice dose of molasses intertwined perfectly with cocoa and hints of toasty tobacco. What really took me by surprise was the smoothness...it was like slicing through butter.  At this point I had to get my hands on the stats. And to say I was impressed is putting it lightly. At play is at three country long-filler mix from Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica, all snugly presented within a Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper and a Honduran binder. No wonder this thing was so damn tasty…it’s a friggin’ cornucopia of delicious tobaccos. I kept at this thing for a solid hour and a half, with the profile remaining at an even keel, never backing down, and yet never overpowering. Medium-bodied and delightful.

In the end, I was disappointed I had to put it down, because I only had two complaints. Although flavorful, it wasn’t overly complex. There was ample flavor there, yes, but it never truly shifted or transitioned into anything else. Sometimes that’s a good thing, and I think it works for this cigar. But sometimes you need that roller coaster ride to keep you on your toes. This qualm, coupled with the enormous ring-gauge, took it down a few pegs for me. But if you’re into girthy cigars, I’d say this one deserves a few extra points. All around, La Perla Habana WIDE was a nice surprise. One thing is for certain, I’m jonesin’ to give the Robusto size a go.

You can’t smoke the box, it’s a true statement. But when you’re investing in a box of cigars, it’s worth noting. And in this instance, it’s hard not to mention. WIDE fuses the traditional La Perla Habana model, with a more modern approach. Sounds like it could yield some funky results, but LPH pulled it off. What can I say…I guess I just like the pretty ladies. The biggest shock was when I checked out our everyday price. In a box for around $3-$4 apiece.  Considering the smoke time on this bad boy, that’s a helluva value. All in all, it’s unlike anything I’ve seen from the La Perla camp. Give it a whirl, I think a lot of you guys are gonna dig it.
