Created to honor all of the members of the Perez-Carrillo family who’ve supported and enabled Ernesto to perfect and continue his craft over the past decades, La Historia is a fitting tribute. Gorgeous, ornate artwork and a blend that was selected for the perfect marriage of texture, flavor, and balance, La Historia employs a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Ecuadorian Sumatra binder, and Dominican and Nicaraguan long-fillers. Rich, chewy flavors coat the palate before you’re hit with subtleties of roasted nuts, espresso, black pepper, and dark chocolate. Just a hint of sweetness on the finish adds the perfect balance. It’s sensory overload, and it delivers in spades.

Great News! In addition to earning the #2 Cigar of 2015 spot, La Historia by E.P. Carrillo recently earned a 95-point rating, noting: "The draw of this dark, box-pressed toro is a touch firm, but brings a dense smoke to the palate, full of peppery notes, tangy wood, hints of raisin and a finish that smacks of chocolate-covered cherries."

First a thanks to CI because I got this gem in a mystery sampler. This is a cigar that otherwise would not be in my budget. I got a box pressed version of it and it's an attractive cigar. The construction is flawless, the draw is effortless and you will get great clouds of smoke with minimal touches to the burn. Truly a medium full cigar that will please experienced smokers with its complexity. I got leather, cocoa and coffee notes in it with an unmistakable slightly sweet raisin finish. I did get a tongue bite at the last 3rd, wich I didn't mind for the experience that it gives. It is worth every penny and I couldn't be more satisfied from it. So, if it's in your budget go for the box, you won't regret it.

I've smoked the trilogy and this is Ernrsto's best. It's got an earthy sweetness with hints of coffee and chocolate. The wrapper is dark and oily and burns like a dream. Not to knock Encore or Pledge, but this a far superior cigar.

Great product obtained at an amazing price. Always free shipping and receive shipments within 3 days no fail. After I let the cigars acclimate for a week I shave had perfect draw and burn. The ash will last until you decide to tap it off. I have always received great product from CI and I will always go to them first when I need to restock.
