Give a big, warm “hola” to Juan Lopez!
Any fan of bold, hearty blends should be all over this one, because a delicious, affordable Nicaraguan puro awaits. This 92-rated gem is everything you want and more....so much more. From the Habano wrapper and binder, to the expertly layered long-filler tobacco leaves, this baby is 100% Nicaraguan. But this ain't some one-trick pony either. Oh no, my friend. The tobacco is harvested from the best of Nicaragua’s distinct growing regions, giving Juan Lopez an unrivaled complexity. Medium to full-bodied and chock full of roasted nuts, chocolate, coffee bean and spicy undertones, you’d be loco not to give this one a shot.
Great news! Juan Lopez was awarded a 92-rating, noting: "This dark cigar is the color of cocoa and has an alluring aroma. It’s a chocolate bomb with licorice and nut flavors and exotic spices. "
You can't beat this puro for flavor and spices. The price point puts it over the top. Take your time and enjoy this big boy.
A meaty cigar that burns nice and slow. You can't be in a rush when you smoke this one.
I've found the flavor to be delicious, spicy, and consistent. I've tried the no.3 and the no.4, and I'd recommend the 3 over the 4. The 4's larger gauge is great for puffing frequently as you don't get really hot smoke if you puff frequently, but the wrapper seems to be more prone to cracking, and if you start getting an uneven burn it's hard to correct. If you're looking for a good, moderately spicy cigar with consistency and great flavor, I highly recommend you give the Fleur de Juan Lopez a try. It's the blend that got me into cigars, and it's still my favorite mid-range cigar.
I'm really liking this Gordo. Perfect construction, draw and burn. Looks like a big fat....chocolate cigar. I get nuts, spice and cocoa. Goes great with a rum and coke. I can see the 92 rating. Not for the first time smoker though. Go easy and take your time. It's worth it. I will get more.
This is excellently crafted cigar for the purchase. Good consistent flavors and burn throughout. Tastes a little nutty. Medium to full bodied. Smooth.
Had the Juan Lopez #2 (Toro). Very rich with lots of flavor. Not a lot of publicity on this one, but you'd be hard pressed to find many better for the price.
