Founded as a way for Reiner Lorenzo to pay homage to his home, Havana City, HVC Cigars focuses on keeping Cuban cigar traditions alive and well by utilizing only the finest tobacco from Nicaragua to create quality cigars that offer unique experiences. In a follow up to his previous release, Pan Caliente, Reiner had his newest release, Hot Cakes, share the same name but made the blend very different.
Using both Nicaraguan corojo 99 from Jalapa and Nicaraguan corojo 98 from Estelí for the binder and combining it with viso leaves of corojo 2006 maduro as the filler, this blend is definitely impressive. The beautiful Mexican San Andrés wrapper completes this blend to produce a medium to full-bodied profile filled with notes of wood, earth, chocolate, pepper, and a natural sweetness that dances across your palate the entire duration of the burn.
