Description

Hirochi Robaina is a name many might not recognize, but it’s an important one in the world of Cuban Tobacco. Hirochi oversees operations at Cuchillas de Barbacoa, a prominent wrapper farm in the Cuba’s famous Veulta Abajo tobacco growing region. The Robaina family has been growing premium tobacco leaves here for Cuban cigars since 1845, which is Hirochi Robaina’s main focus. But a few years back, he decided to take a few trips out of Cuba to collaborate with some Nicaraguan Cigar factories to make blends that cold be enjoyed by the American market. Today I’ve got a flight sampler of three of his cigars for your herfing pleasure.

The Coopera line consists of three different blends, all of which are included in this flight sampler. A creamy and smooth, mellow-bodied Connecticut, a rich and sweet, medium-bodied maduro, and spicy, Medium to full-bodied Habano. All top-notch blends, this is about as close as you can get to trying a Cuban cigar without leaving the country.

The Hirochi Robaina Flight Sampler includes:
5 - Coopera Connecticut By Hirochi Robaina Toro (6.0" x 52)
5 - Coopera Maduro By Hirochi Robaina Robusto (5.0" x 50)
5 - Coopera Habano By Hirochi Robaina Toro (6.0" x 52)

I wish I could tell you what these are like, but the two samplers I got were sent in flimsy plastic bags of five without any protection from the heavy ceramic ashtray, 50 stick humidor, and 30 stick box of cigars also in the order. In shipping across five states, the heavier boxed objects predictably pounded the bagged cigars until all thirty were dented or worse, with many having come out of the afforementioned flimsy bags. This was my first order with CI, and the other cigars I ordered were not at all as described. I gave these cigars 4 stars out of respect for the brand, something the person that prepared the shipment seemed to lack. I hope CI customer service makes this right when I contact them, otherwise this will be my last order from CI.

I was completely impressed with this sampler. Construction of each I've had so far is top notch. Perfect burn, great flavor, great price and value. Lights well, tightly rolled, really impressive for the price point.

I have smoked one of each of the 3 varieties, they burn perfectly, smooth smoke, price point could become a daily.

Tight draw and super thin wrappers. The flavors were pretty good. I would like to think a better draw would have shown even more flavor.

I met Hirochi at his farm in Cuba and truly one of the nicest people you’d ever meet. So when I saw these cigars I was intrigued. I have now tried all three and can’t believe the quality for the price you pay at CI! These are really good cigars with distinct differences in all three. Plus they burn razor sharp! They are not under filled like some value cigars. These are just real great cigars that happen to have a value price. I’m buying more!!
