Gurkha Status

Smooth and creamy. Mild to medium with lite notes of white pepper. Well constructed with loose draw. Some small burn issues.

Good smoke, enjoyable from start to the finish. Lasts long time...

It was ok. The outside wrapper wasn't refined and they all burned more aggressively on one side. It was not a very refined smoke and had a sharper flavor than most Connecticut's. I would save my money and rather buy DE Factory Smoke Connecticut.

The burn was even. First part was nothing great, the second part had more sweet flavor and at the last part had some licorice and ALOT of spice to it. In the end I found myself enjoying it, but wouldn't be my go to.

This Status torpedo arrived in a Gurkha sampler pack and was the first one I tried (just a random choice). It performed relatively well, lasting about 60 minutes with a slightly wavy, but not really uneven burn that never called for a relight. The draw was tighter than I liked (I'm a lazy smoker and don't want to work for it) and it produced a decent amount of smoke and a tight, light grey ash. First thing I noticed was the broadleaf wrapper appeared a couple of shades dar,er than the photos. It gave me the impression of a strong cigar, but that was a head fake. From the first puff I tasted a woody flavor and just a slight sweetness (cocoa maybe? ). Clearly there, but not powerful at all. I liked the taste quite a bit and hoped it would continue, but unfortunately it did not. After the first inch or so the sweetness was gone, leaving the wood and a quiet, slowly building spice. This was also smooth and mild, but the effect by 40 minutes was that the spice flavor in my mouth, while not strong, mostly pushed the wood aside. It wasn't powerful, just not a flavor I much relished. After such a pleasant start, I was disappointed with the end result. It's a nice enough cigar, one I'd smoke again if offered, and not a bad choice for a first timer, but not a stogie I'd buy except as part of a sampler.

I am a Gurkha smoker and found this cigar to be a nice even smoke. Good, mild flavor with a hint of earthy notes.

I have never heard of this brand, Gurkha. However, I really was pleased with the flavor and burn. The smoke stayed consistent throughout the length of the stick and it burned evenly. Light flavor consistent with the Connecticut genre. I will buy them again

The flavor is there without the heavy tar like film setting on my tongue. Burns nearly even throughout,and stays flavorful 3/4 of the way through. Most enjoyable cigar of all Gurkhas.

Smooth and full flavor, without the “bite”. A relaxing burn that goes well with cocktail hour, after dinner, or anytime you want a great smoke. I recommend Gurkha Status Torpedo. You will love them!

Gurkha gets a bum wrap sometimes but I have found that most Gurkha's are a great smoke, especially the Status Torpedo...might be my favorite Gurkha.

Gurkha is back! Tasted great and back to the original quality and construction!

Some 20 years ago the CEO of C.I. was very generous in handling a complaint I had submitted by going beyond what I expected. And even more, he personally phoned me twice to ensure that his instructions had been carried out. Not long after that, maybe nineteen years ago I discovered that I liked anything Gurkha. I mean ANYTHING Gurkha. I admit that I stray once in a while, but I love ❤️ my Gurkhas. Status is one of my favorites of all.

Great flavor for mild to medium cigar. Excellent burn. Lit it once and smoked it while cleaning my patio.

Good flavor but the wrapper on all of them started flaking towards the bottom 1/3.
