Gurkha Private Select Abuelo

Welcome to the grand infusion.

What do you get when you marry a rare, high-end blend of tobaccos with 7-year aged Ron Abuelo rum? Two words…cigar nirvana. Gurkha Private Select Abuelo Churchill has done just that. A dark and rich maduro wrapper can be seen inside Private Select's glass tube casing capped by red melted wax, sealing in the ample flavors this gem produces. Notes of leather, nuts, and earth can be found hiding behind bolder notes from the rum of toffee and cocoa. Balanced and complex, this medium-bodied morsel demands your attention from the start and keeps it until the very last puff.

Note: The boxes of 30 are shipped in a cardboard, bubble wrapped boxes to protect the glass tubes.

I wanted to update my June 20, 2016 review.
I wanted to update my June 20, 2016 review. I would give 3 and half stars if I could. The cigar improved but, had to be removed from the tube and placed in the humidor for a length of time. I have had other cigars in tube etc., that were fine being placed in the humidor in the tubes. These needed to be removed from the glass tube in order to acclimate them and provide a better feel to the cigar and dramatically improved the rating on the construction still looser than normal but, much more enjoyable to smoke. The flavors were consistent throughout and burned very very well.

Don't be fooled by the looks not worth the $
Gurhka is famous or should I say infamous for hit or miss. This definitely a miss. One of the loosest rolled constructed cigars I've ever had from the company. So lightly rolled impact the binder seemed like it was not even there. The flavor was OK about halfway through but nothing special certainly overpriced and they look much better than they are don't be fooled by the fancy wax and nice name in Spanish. I have had better constructed 5 Vegas Cigars for a mere fraction of the price

Gurkha Private Select an Outstanding Smoke
I read mixed reviews about this cigar so I was a little hesitant but it is an awesome cigar. The smoke out put is great, the aroma and taste off the chart and the burn was very good and lasted over an hour. Outstanding cigar and well worth the price point.

Not great!
My wife purchased these cigars for me from Cigar International. These were a big disappointment because they are loosely wrapped, difficult to keep lit, and burns unevenly. Overall the flavor is fine but not worth the money. I have always liked the other cigars I purchased from CI. I won't be buying these again.

Good cogar
Though not as smooth as the Grand Reserve or Royal Reserve, Gurkha doesn't disappoint with this rum infused blend

Gurkha Private Select Abuelo Churchill
This cigar looks like a very expensive cigar with the glass tube and the dark red wax seal. The cigar itself, after taking it out of the tube, also looks very expensive. The taste and aroma are quite pleasant for the first half of the cigar. After that, they fall off quite quickly. The same thing has happened to the Gurkha Grand Reserve(Cognac). Mr. Hansotia needs to get them back where they were. And SOON!!!

The cigars have a good flavor but he burn on them is horrible uneven the entire cigar and on everyone of them they were not entirely wrapped. Will not by them again.

Smooth as butter
Got these the MMAO page. Good price for 5 sticks. Super smooth all the way down. Nice medium smoke. Great draw. Nice sweetness coming through from the rum. Not overpowering at all. Would definitely purchase again to change it up from my usually heavier smokes. Everyone loved the!
Customer Testimonials
The Private Select is a medium bodied cigar with hints of cocoa and nuts. The Maduro wrapper is the perfect marriage with the sweetness of the 7-year aged Ron Abuelo rum. The fullness of toffee and cocoa flavors are accentuated from the rum, while hints of leather and earthy undertones come through with the Nicaraguan cigar.
I just went and bought this cigar; it sounded pretty good. Paid about $12. This is literally the best cigar I've ever had. It's red cherry sweet, but a nutty and leather finish. From the smell to the first draw it's amazing. I'm going to buy a box just from trying this one. Honestly I'm going to buy a box of these for any special occasion. 100% fantastic!
