Gurkha Heritage

A worthy heritage.

Gurkha has worked hard to achieve their lofty status and recognition as the Rolls Royce of cigars. From their costly super premium blends like His Majesty’s Reserve to their more affordable every day options like Park Avenue, there is a Gurkha to suit any palate or budget.

Hailing from American Caribbean Cigars in Nicaragua, the Gurkha Heritage features an Ecuador Habano Rosado wrapper overtop a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Pennsylvanian long-fillers. This medium to full-bodied morsel will smack your palate with rich flavors that work together beautifully to deliver a savory and satisfying blend. Although geared towards the aficionado, this blend is accessible and enjoyable for anyone.

Excellent cigar! I smoke a lot of cigars and I want so bad as funny as it sounds, to find something I like more than this one. This Gurkha heritage is my favorite smoke. The only bad thing I can say is in the 2nd 3rd it burns a little uneven but always seems to catch up. Definitely a beautiful everyday smoke, fits my palate perfectly. Like I said, I'm always looking for something better but i end up having one of these about once a week and ask myself why? It's probably gotta be that I don't want to be that one cigar guy. So I will continue to sample others. This one is old faithful.

I received this cigar from another retailer's big smoking event (I live in NC...hint, hint; however, I love CI and am loyal to them). I need to say that I have only met 1 Gurkha I liked: the Legend Vintage 2001. All others I did not particularly like. I smoked this at night and it started out fair (maybe 3 stars). Good draw, good burn, ample smoke and respectable taste. Then the cigar hit the center and it all went south from there. The burn became lopsided (I touched up x3), it started to ash all over me, it kept going out and the taste went to a sour/rancid taste. I am always willing to give a cigar another try...this is an exception. One of the worst 5 cigars I have smoked in hundreds, if not thousands of different brands.

What`s to said a about the Gurkha Heritage ? I don`t think that Gurkha knows how to make a bad cigar. My first impression, Wow ! Nice presentation Gurkha. With the cedar wrapping, & the ribbon on the tip. After unwrapping all the amenity`s, & inspecting the outer leaf. Even, & well constructed from tip to end cap. There is true craftsmanship that went into the making of this fine cigar. The first draw was Rich, Smooth, & Creamy with a thick plume of smoke. The burn was even, & consistent as well the flavor. From start to finish never a disappointment. CI says, " That this cigar is geared towards the aficionado. " Well I am nowhere close to being an aficionado. But, I do know a Damn Fine Cigar when I smoke one. In my opinion " Gurkha you have out done yourself with this one !
