A powerful son of a gun.Introducing, Gurkha Evil....the latest in highly rated super-premiums from the prestigious family of cigars known as Gurkha. This rustic handmade combines a thick and leathery Brazilian wrapper with extensively aged Nicaraguan long-fillers secured by a feisty Dominican binder. Crafted into a variety of generous sizes, each premium cigar produces a medium to full-bodied array of flavor that remains smooth and balanced down to the nub.
Hearty notes of pepper and wood mingle with earthy tones and a sweet, cedary finish. Both strength and flavor intensify during the burn, completing an eventful and powerful handmade built with the same uncompromising level of quality Gurkha is known for.Gurkha Evil received a well-deserved 90-point rating, noting: "An attractive Torpedo that smokes evenly. The smoke is very toasty in character with hints of roasted nuts and a pleasant floral finish."
I wrote a review about the Gurkha Evil about 5 or 6 years ago. Times have change and so has my pallet for premium smokes; however the quality put into this cigar hasn't. This time around I let them sit for awhile (November to the end of March, which wasn't easy), this time around there was a creaminess that accented wonderfully with the taste of thick leather. Also, the wrapper is thick and toothy, allowing great mouth feel and a big ol' ash. Overall, still a good cigar.
Absolutely love this cigar. Great flavor and a long lasting smoke. Will definitely order again.
I was visiting Houston for the Thanksgiving weekend and had no smokes with me. I bought this cigar and it was great. I just ordered a box and can't wait for them to be delivered. Super addition to my humidor with my other great smokes.
I've been waiting to have some scratch to order me a box of these. When I do find these in local brick and motor humis, I always indulge myself in one. Let me tell you Gurkha is one of those premium brands that has some big winners and a good handful of stinker lines (some say cashing in on their own good name). I digress. The Evil is simply amazing! It is strong (not kickass strong) with a nice finish in all thirds. Put it this way, these often go for $16 a stick at one place I like to relax and I gladly pay it. This speaks volumes, as I'm a cheap bastard. Get some Evils and thank me later.
All I can say is wow!! By far my favorite smoke, best cigar I have had, and I have tested a lot. I will always have these in stock in my humidor!
All in all I find the Gurkha brand to be over-hyped. I don't find anything special about most of their blends. That said, the Evil is a cigar I buy by the box. A very enjoyable smoke, and a cigar that I don't let my humidor go without.
Two hours of pure smoking pleasure. A slow steady burn and nice flavor. If your allowed a smoke break this baby is the one to light. Always have a few in my humidor for those times I just want to drift into a cigar tinted world of my own and relax.
Great smoke! Make sure that you set aside 3hr+ to smoke the Goliath's! I didn't get a really earthy note until the end of the smoke but enjoyed it the whole time!
Smacks you in the face right out of the gate, great smoke
I ordered a 5 pack of these after reading many reviews. When they arrived I couldn't wait. The anticipation was killing me. I am only halfway through my 1st &so far I am not blown away. I'm sure it's because it hasn't had time to age in my humi. Hints of pepper on the foot then smoothing out with hints of earth & spice. Had an issue with this stick canoeing on me to the halfway point, but it has worked itself out. Nice long white ash. Good draw. All in all, not a bad cigar, but nothing spectacular yet. Am confident a few months in the humi will change this as Gurkah makes awesome smokes. Will rereview in a few months
The name is no joke. Deceitfully sweet, nutty and fragrant. The smoke pours from this stick. This is a good stick to sit back with and simply relax. Tastes so good, burned perfect. However set asside a few hrs and take it slow... If not you will learn why this Gurkha is so...well..evil. enough of a stick to satisfy or take you down for the night. All in all a good session cigar.
Just had one of these from a local shop, never had I actually run into one, and I have always wanted one, so I bought it. Here is the downside, as i smoked it, the wrapper was cracking and falling apart at a rate that was unsatisfactory. Here is the good part, even though it was falling apart on me, this was a fantastic cigar, it never got too peppery or too spicy, the flavors are pretty full but still subtle enough not to overpower. The construction quality was still apparent despite the wrapper falling apart (I still had a 2 inch ash). Once I have a little extra money I plan on buying a box of these, and that is based off a less than stellar sample.
Amazing cigars. If you're looking for smooth, these should be your go-to cigar.
One of the best smokes I've ever had. Long lasting smoke and every draw was a good one. Bought a 5 pack to try them out. You can believe I will be making a larger purchase soon.
As stated in a previous comment ..... Gurkha is my favorite brand - the Evil is my favorite cigar! Smoothe to the last puff - earth & spice - it is on my list of always order.
Gurkha Evil = Gurkha Good!
Gurkha is my favorite brand ..... the Evil is my favorite Gurkha. Smooth, tasty smoke!
King Kong ain't got nothin on this stick"
The Gurkha Evil is good news to my senses...I detected hints of spice and tobacco, wood and earth, with a little nutty finish to it. This is a wonderfully fragrant cigar with a hint of sweet to the draw, even my fiance got into them, the Evil a big hit for Gurkha, nice job! My rate on this stick: 89
Gurkha Evil was very impressive. Almost seemed to have the same peppery kick as the Assassin, but smoothed out to a very pleasant smoke. Very enjoyable, and Gurkha delivers another great cigar.
My love of cigars starting only this past summer, I quickly developed a passion for full bodied cigars, with having ' The Edge' being my second cigar ever. This hit every note I was hoping for and more! Hitting notes of thick leather, fire roasted toast, and moments of freshly ground pepper that became fuller at the end, this cigar is a full bodied dream!
The "Gurkha EVIL" in my opinion, is a very good cigar.
This cigar is a tough one to finish for me but I love it and can't seem to get enough as it simply knocks your socks off. Caution: Do not walk and smoke at the same time.
