Gran Habano Corojo Vintage 2002

A CI Fan-Favorite!

The right hand giveth one of the industry's tastiest under-the-radar blends from Gran Habano cigars. The left hand taketh away fears you'd never see a super-premium blend at such a deeply discounted price again.

So rest easy, my man. This is the 90-rated Gran Habano Corojo #5 blend composed of full-bodied, Habano-seed long-fillers from Nicaragua and Dominican but it boasts a juicy Nicaraguan-grown Corojo wrapper leaf cultivated back in 2002, one which has enjoyed an extended cedar-nap for the past 8 years. The outcome is virtuous: a deep series of rich, creamy flavors smacking of coffee, nuts, and earth tamed by the smooth, Cuban-esque qualities of a well-aged Corojo leaf. The Gran Habano Vintage 2002 cigar remains medium to full-bodied but maintains a wonderful balance and long, elegant finish.

The price is out of this world. Nothing short of monumental.

Gran Habano Corojo Vintage 2002 Robusto review
This is a very nice full body cigar. It is very well made and a great flavor for the money.
5 out of 5
Pleasant surprise
These cigars are well built and very smooth smoking. I was not expecting to be so pleased with this cigar. Most of my “first tries” tend to disappoint me. These didn’t. Will purchase again.
3 out of 5
It's an alright smoke.
Ok for everyday smokes. Don't expect much but for the price it delivers acceptable quality.

Gran Habano Corojo Vintage 2002 Churchill...Review
I used a standard guillotine cutter. The filler appeared top be chopped tobacco. Thus, the exposed tip resulted in small bits and pieces of tobacco ending up in my mouth at every draw. It just wasn't one or two small pieces, sometimes it was multiple pieces. The cigar was literally getting smaller twice as fast as would normally occur just from burning. The burn end slowly receded at the same time the cut end was coming apart and shortening.

Top Notch Smoke
These Churchill’s are turning out to be one of my favorite smokes. Great construction, even cool burn, and that unmistakable Gran Habano flavor make this a “go to” delight!

Great smoking cigars especially considering the price.

Normally very fond of these
Normally very fond of these, however my last batch was dry and kept falling apart. I let them have an extended stay in the humidor to breath life back into them with little success. Not sure if they were just old or what. Will try them again and hope for results!

Great Smoke consistent all the time always in the stable I never run out

Four stars for the value.
Nothing perfect about these sticks, but they're absolutely the best value going. I've bought a shipping container's worth of low-budget cigars (as well as higher-end) largely for working outside, and probably 80% of the time kicked myself later. Not with these. They're legit tasty for my money, while not just terribly well constructed and don't burn perfectly evenly, nevertheless all things considered I'll be buying more. Rating is based on VALUE.
4 out of 5
Great value
The flavor profile differs from the Robusto and Churchill due to the ratio of wrapper and binder to filler. The strength leans more towards medium than medium-full. Still, it's an enjoyable smoke at a reasonable price. A great value.

Cinnamon Toast and Sandalwood Incense
These cigars do burn more consistently and have better constitution than most of the lower end cigars. However, I find the flavor to be more like smoking potpourri than cigar tobacco. It's a step above 7-11, probably good to share with non-smoking friends.

Worth the cost
I found the selection great sticks for the price. I will definitely get again.

Substantial Flavor!
The Gran Habano Vintage 2002 is an excellent smoke, full of body without being overpowering. I have purchased these multiple times, trying to keep them on hand in my humidor, and I have never been disappointed. The stay lit, burn well, and have plenty of flavor. I will definitely be purchasing more and more of these beauties!

When I see the word 'vintage I think 'old stuff. And when I see cedar wrapped, I think taste cover-up. But these GH Corojos are a nice burning decent tasting smoke

Gran Habano Corojo Vintage 2002 Churchill,
i like these smokes. I have purchased them before and always enjoy them
4 out of 5
Cedar(?) wrapped
The cigar is wrapped in a thin wood shaving laminate. Unfortunately it hides a cigar wrapper not entirely to my liking. The cigar draws well, is a pleasant smoke overall, but I prefer a darker, oily wrapper...and this isn't that. Good, not great.

Tasty
I received a pack of the delivered to the house for 2 bucks a piece. For that price I think they are outstanding. Easy draw, even burn and tasty. How can you go wrong?

Awful
The Grand Habano's tasted bad from the moment I lit up. I kept waiting for the cigar to get better and it never did. I don't recommend this smoke.

Fantastic Smoke!
Just bought a box of the Gran Habano Corojo Vintage 2002 XO and I have been completely blown away! Perfect smoke, draws beautifully, and lasts a whole evening. I highly recommend these stogies!

Just ok
Pretty good. The pack that I received were a little dry so I had to let them rest in the humidor. I probably would not purchase again.

Pleasant Suprise
Gave one to a friend who sent me a FB message about how tasty it was and asked where did I buy them. Very pleased overall with the flavor, no issues with this cigar. I need to order more. First cigar I've bought that said vintage that lived up to expectations.
5 out of 5
great smoke
I've purchased them several times. They never disappoint
2 out of 5
Just okay
These burn nice and have good texture, the cedar from the wrapper bleeds significantly into the tobacco and does not make for a pleasant taste, remove the wrapper and leave in your humidor for a while to improve the flavor

Best Value in the cigar warehouse !!!

Has Quirks
Hard to keep lit. Ash is tinged with black; it’s not a consistent gray. I have no idea what’s in there causing the black ash. The taste is to my liking and their strength is about right. Some are rolled too tightly. Adequate for the price.
5 out of 5
Good
Good stick for the price. I'm an impatient guy so I had to light one up the day they came and I'm impressed how well it smoked right out of the mail. Good job ci

STILL SMILING
This cigar left me with a big smile on my face. Gentle but not mild. Will come back to these often.

Good Cigars & Service
excellent!!
4 out of 5
Good Stick
Not a bad stick after I let them sit in the humidor. Probably most disappointed with how they were shipped, in a larger than needed box with no padding so the cigars slammed around a bit. They were not properly stored during transit and you could tell. I'd probably buy again.
5 out of 5
Best Cigar for Price
For the price you cant beat this smoke. I always keep these in my humidor for that everyday smoke when I dont wanna burn through my more expensive cigars, or if I know some friends who casually smoke will be around (its always a crowd pleaser). I have smoked around 140 of these cigars and the consistency is also very solid. Dont buy these expecting the sky, but for what they are, theyre the best cigars for the price. I would honestly give these about a 7/10 but because of the cost theyre a 10/10 in my book! Im not the greatest at describing flavor notes, but its a nice smooth smoke, mild but not too mild, still has some great flavor and a light kick. Its not a long smoke, about 45min max if you're not paying much attention to it, you could rip through one in 25min if you needed to. (5.0x50)

Best cigar
Bought these on a hunch and now are my go to cigar. I bring some of these and other cigars to the hunting cabin, but everyone wants the Corojo

I throw all of them to the garbage,
I smoke over the years many type of cigars from the cheapest ones to the more expensive ones , This is my first review on any on line cigar store, trying smoking this cigar has left very bad taste and flavor, additionally it put me down with headaches , which I didn't give up at this point , so i try over and over few time , and still with the same results, did i give up at this point the answer is no, My 2 smokers friends cam to visit, and i offer them this cigar, to be fair I didn't told them what was my experience with this cigar, so one of them start smoke this cigar, and told me that taste is horrible, and he killed the smoke, with this confirmation I throw all of them to the garbage,

I smoke more of these than any other kind of cigar. Very pleasant flavor and smokes very consistently. Friends I share them with are always surprised when I tell them the price.

tastes good dooesn't burn well
Cigar tastes good but a frustrating smoke. 3 out of five have holes or other issues that make it difficult to enjoy. I have to pinch the center very hard to get an even burn. otherwise it burns up the center or down one side.

Happy Customer
I was given a Pirate's Gold Maduro by a friend. Loved that cigar. CI was the only vender, so I have bought a couple of hundred Pirate's Gold. That was back on 8/7/2010. Since, CI has been reliable, fast and consistent in providing me with name brand gars at a great price equal to or less than my local gar store. You use to get some swag on orders over a hundred, I liked getting the lagniappe. Hope they restart the pilone for orders over a hundred. Wish you could also bring back the Pirate's Gold Maduros. I want some more of those gars. I have only about a hundred left in my humidor. Recently, CI has provided me with a couple of customer discounts. That will certainly keep me coming back. Thanks CI for 7 years (so far) of selling me cigars. Great job!

"Very Good Cigar"
I have tried a lot of quality cigars in all price ranges, but to me this is one of my favorites. "Gran Habano Corojo Vintage 2002 XO", 60 Ring Gage is very smooth all the way through. Leaves no harsh taste and has a nice pleasant aroma. In my opinion, these are top of the line sticks, and one would expect to pay more for a high quality cigar like this. Will buy more for sure. I have purchased these cigars
I have purchased these cigars in the past and have been very pleased, however the last bundle I bought have been very soft, and seem to be poorly rolled as they are very mushy and burn way too hot. This used to be a good every day smoke that I also enjoyed while doing yard work or as a midday smoke.

Reasonably Priced Great Taste
Disguised as a MMAO cigar, the Gran Corojo Vintage 2002 is one of the best tasting, even burning, reasonably priced cigar. It has become my "go to" cigar for every day. I recommend it for those who want a taste that is good but doesn't knock your socks off.

Draw was too tight and the cigars had to be relit and touched up many times. Flavor and construction was ok, but wouldn't order again.

Not strong enough
These cigars were listed as medium to full, They are more like mild to medium.
2 out of 5
Filler tobacco
I buy these cigars all the time. Are usually really enjoyed them. This time when I cut the end off the entire bundle every time I smoked, little chunks of tobacco came falling out of the end. It was clear they had not used long filler tobacco in the end of the cigar. It was packed with loose debris Tobacco. I've ordered these many times and many times they have been fine. I'll chalk this one up to a bad batch. But if it occurs again I'll stop purchasing them.

Good solid wrapper and well packed filler. The cedar sleeve is a nice touch and makes this a cigar you'll be proud to offer to even the most discriminating cigar friend.

Gran Habano Corojo Vintage 2002 is truly Vintage!
Great cigar! It's my "go to" cigar for sitting on the back patio and sharing stories with my friends. Well packaged with a nice even ash. Medium cigar that is well balanced from start to finish.

The draw is poor. You have to keep lighting the cigar at least 20 times to finish it. Sometimes when you light the cigar is catches on fire as it it was a pieces of paper being burnt.

You want these......
This is a great cigar if you like Smooth aged tobacco. Has a light but rich flavor with not too much smoke. It smokes more like a mild but has like 20 times the flavor of your average middle of the road cigar. It's a great deal too.

A bit of a let down
Not really happy with this cigar. They will not stay lit. Some have a really hard draw, burn crooked, tunnel a bit, probably will force my through the rest of the bundle but I was disappointed. The flavor is good but the frustration of smoking them overcomes the good taste.

Fantastic smoke, well-made, great value
These are an excellent value and terrific little cigars for a short, high-quality smoke. They draw easy, burn evenly and give off hints of leather, earth and some spice. I shared some of these with my brother on July 4th after a big meal and we were both impressed. Definitely worth making room in the humidor for an entire box - or two.

Better Than I Thought!
These are great! For the price, I bought them as an "everyday cigar", but found out they are a few notches above that!

Never again
After having one in a sampler pack, I thought a bundle would be a great addition. So far, that has not panned out. We are approaching 3 months in the humi and they are no better. Nothing to add from the prior reviews. I am experiencing all of the same frustrations - extremely uneven burn, will not stay lit. Maybe the remainder of the bundle will produce a decent aroma in the campfire...

Value and Flavor to Burn
Really nice well made cigar and a great buy. This is my daily smoke. Since I discovered this cigar I find that have a hard time deciding to spend my $$ on any other because I know the GH is so enjoyable and I always get a good burn.
2 out of 5
BLAND
Very consistent - but bland and one noted throughout the smoke. I don't see how this is rated as having a rich flavor, very mild. Wouldn't rush back to purchase.
3 out of 5
Good cigar, but watch out for rolling issues.
I've purchased the Churchills 3 times over as many years and have always liked the flavor. I only smoke them on the golf course and the wind definitely influences the burn. About half of the last batch I got were poorly rolled and developed tunnels. I tried cutting them down a bit, but the unevenness was consistent throughout the entire smoke and I ended up wasting a lot of time trying to keep them lit. I may try them one more time, but I won't buy them again if I experience the same problem. Too bad, when they burn evenly, they're pretty good.

The Best of all Gran Habanos Cigars! Bar None
IDCare what anybody else has to say or whine about this Cigar. For the Money, it cannot be beat or topped. The 2002 is the STANDARD by which all other Gran Habanos should be judged and compared.
1 out of 5
Just Bad...
One of the worst cigars I've ever purchased... These are NOT long-filler smokes, they are short-filler, chopped-up tobacco. The burn is horrible, several loose rolls, had a few plugged tight. Seriously considering throwing the rest in the trash.
5 out of 5
Get some.
When these first arrived I wasn't impressed. However, after a few months in the humidor they have become a favorite. Good draw, even burn, great flavor. A big bang for the buck.

NOT the same Gran Habano cigars I ordered years ago!
JUNK!!! These are NOT the same Gran Habano cigars I ordered years ago! This is a "chop and sweepings filler cigar" NOT a long filler as advertised! CI information provided: This is the 90-rated Gran Habano Corojo #5 blend composed of full-bodied, Habano-seed long-fillers from Nicaragua and Dominican. If you cut the tip you WILL REGRET doing so, the inside starts crumbling and the small "chopped" pieces of tobacco start falling out and getting in your teeth and mouth right away. Too bad; at one time this was a good cigar at a good value... years ago - NOT NOW! Price is low so that's a consideration you might consider. Not a good cigar - but okay for the price - if you don't mind spitting out little pieces of tobacco and then having to brush your teeth and gargle

Too hot to handle!
Bought these because price point was right, packaging looked promising. Not happy. I am for sticks in and all burned ragged and hot. While they are tasty about every third puff, unless you enjoy coaxing out the little there is that's good about them it's not worth the time or money. Got what I paid for.

My "go to" cigar
I'll admit that I've tried to like a lot of the medium to full bodied cigars but just can't handle them. But for some reason, I really like this cigar even though it's rated medium-full. Personally, its definitely in the medium range and for the price, one of the best bargains for my palate.

Great smoke
Like Ray Charles said,"compared to what?" Smooth easy draw with a fast burn. I'm a sucker for the spice. Good for quick smoke. Half hour or so. Thoroughbred medium body. It was my second cigar on those last few smokes where I just had to have "another." I even gave some to my best friend for Christmas.

Declining Quality and Terrible Construction.
Quality on these cigars has been declining for quite some time now. I've ordered them for years and my latest batch had every problem you could imagine. Some are plugged, some are drastically under filled which makes them spongy and burn hot, the wrappers are very rough, they burn unevenly and keep going out. The one I'm smoking right now isn't even straight !!! Still nice flavor so but very disappointing construction and total lack of consistency. I will not order these again.

Best Not Expensive Cigar
I almost hate to give this a good review, because if to many people catch on the price might go up. This is one of the best cigars that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It is rich and smooth with a great draw and billowy smoke. It is my go to cigar! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because you could get a better cigar but only for 3 times the cost.

what happened
this used to be my everyday smoke, clean to light, easy to draw and a solid ash, just like in the picture.now it is terrible falls apart when you cut it,keeps going out because tabaccoi keeps popping . it is built like a sandwich not a full long leaf cigar.sad and very disappointing.

Hit or miss.
I almost threw the pack of cigars away after two smokes. The first wasn't worth a finish. As I've proceeded into the package I've come across some mild cigars. A little soft.. they are seconds, but somewhat enjoyable. Will I buy them again? No. Gene

Don't waste your money
Don't judge a book by its cover. Ordered 40 of them based on all the positive adjectives. Where is the flavor? They burn uneven and I kept spitting out small pieces of tobacco. They are not long filler.won't buy them again.

Not impressed
I bought these cigars for the first time as a test 2 months ago and was very pleased with the flavor, burn and overall smoke. I just bought another batch and was very disappointed. Out of 10 cigars, 7 didn't burn well and the wrapper fell apart as if they hadn't been in a humidor for months. I bought these sticks to smoke while playing golf so I was looking for a lower price cigar. I'm hoping that the condition of the last batch was a fluke because the first batch was very good. I might try them one more time..

This is my third bundle of these. The first was quite good, the second wasn't worth the expenditure as the quality wasn't correct and I wasn't certain whether I should order more. This third bundle is much better than my second, but it still contained 2 (so far) that did not burn well (burnt hot and went out). Think I'll try a forth bundle.. Here's hoping....

Beware of the bad bundle
Had ordered these a few times in the past and thought they were quite good. My last order was terrible. They were short filler mixed with what looked like tobacco sheet paper bunched up. These cigars have become so popular they make them poorly to meet production goal. Beware, you might get a bad bundle of these.

I've Had Better
Gran Habano Corojo Vintage 2002 is one of my favorite cigars. However, the pack that I received was not up to standard. The cigars do not seem to be fully wrapped, hollow inside, and are difficult to keep burning. I've actually given up on three of them because of these issues. I will buy them again and hope that the next bundle is as good as they usually are.

Greet flavored wrapper. . enjoyable overall blend. Given the popularity and turn over at CI. the are best after a stent in your humidor. When in transet to CI I know these and other popular mazoes can dry out sum. And sold before a recovery period in CIs vast humidificatian system.

Great flavor
This was not a bad smoke. Was quite smooth and tasty..! However, it is advertised as "Habano-seed long-fillers from Nicaragua", yet I found that there seemed to be "short fillers" that came out quite soon after gnawing on the cigar for a bit. I must say that I did not expect that from this cigar. I do not snip much from the head of the cigar so maybe i will try cutting more to keep fillers from pulling out..? To have a mouth full of shred was a surprise. I smoked several of these and they all did the same thing. Once again, great little smoke as far as flavor and aroma. But is it TRULY made with LONG fillers. Going to cut one up and see.

Why did you hurt a brotha like this?
What happened to you guys? Two orders of nicely rolled sticks with a nice pull? A 30 minute smoke with no aftertaste. My last two orders just the opposite; uneven burn, a number them getting hot in the middle bypassing the top. Unraveling during the process with a hideous fuel aftertaste. I didn't finish the box that's how bad they were. In times past I would have given them away to friends who smoke real cheap cigars. I doubt that we could have remained friends if I did.

The only thing that makes this an everyday cigar is the price. If you like the taste of cedar and a cigar that develops from very mild to medium body this is a great cigar. I have given this cigar out to lot of people and never had one bad comment. Even first timers seem to enjoy its very mild start and the spicy cedar flavor.

Never again
Based on the description, I was expecting somewhat of a quality smoke. Instead, I got a chore: trying to keep them lit. Puffing on them just ruined the flavor by tasting hot, foul smoke. I will avoid these in the future.
2 out of 5
Not great anymore!
The first time I smoked these { about 4 years ago) I thought these were the best cigars ever made, so I purchased more of these and they were good but not quite as good as the first ones I smoked so I didn't buy any more until about a year or so ago and they were even worse. They were bland and didn't smell or taste nothing like they did when I first smoked them. I don't know what happened to these, kinda like what happened to the old Tampa Nugget blunt when they discontinued the natural leaf wrapper and made them with the tobacco paper wrapper and binder. Those were awful and I smoked different brands. I won't buy these Gran Habano Corojo Vintage 2002 cigars again.

Tasty stogie, quality control issues
I had these before via a sampler and they are tasty and burned well. However, I got a bundle of them and they all have quality control issues. The cedar sleeve is on too tight causing the foot to crimp a little. The filler seems lumpy and inconsistent. The flavor is still there though and for a couple of bucks a stick they're hard to beat. I did have one that must have had a big hole in the middle of the filler 'cause I couldn't seem to keep it lit but it got hot and then the wrapper started turning black about 1/3 of the way down. Weird but still tasty

ummm no.
I am a one stick a day (maybe 2) smoker, I thought these would flip the daily drive to work bill, they don't. I will never order them again, one cigar here and there was ok, but generally speaking... no good. Resting in the Humidor helped, so if you do get them let em sit.

great smoke, poor QC.
Been smoking these for a couple years and tasted and smoked great. Then I had the whole bundle that all burned down one side a inch before the band. A few weeks ago order two bundles , everyone was not packed tight and could not be smoked. I give 2 star they are great when rolled correctly, so either bad luck or poor quality smokes. it will be awhile before I order any more. Returning the cigar was easy and hassle free , thanks CI!

Sad cigar face
Bought a bundle of 20 of these on sale, based upon two I received in a sampler. Very disappointed with them constantly needing to be relit and "canoeing" when they burn at all. Because they go out so frequently, you must keep after them, puffing them, which makes them burn hot and taste harsh. The samples were much better. I hope the other sale items I've purchased aren't like these.

overall the cigar had nice flavor and stayed mild from start to finish. I have only smoked four of them but all four were loosely rapped which made drawing on the cigar more effort than necessary. That is why I rated the cigar 4 stars

Some of my favorites
These are some of my favorite almost every day smokes. They're smooth, consistent, good flavor, and not harsh. They're a regular in my humidor.

Great everyday cigar
Have bought these a few times. Great everyday smoke. Tasty but not too strong and great burn. Very even. A real value and not a cheap cigar that you wish you had opted for better quality or price. Very satisfied

Can't go wrong
This was my second time ordering these. They're a good cigar especially for the price. They make a good everyday cigar. I definitely wouldn't hesitate to order them again.

Used To Be a Good Cigar
I used to really like these cigars for the money, but the last batch was soft and burned badly, canoeing and needing to be re-lit often. I am switching to another brand.

Grab Habano Gordo
The process was great. Easy to do business. The cigars are good so far except I'm getting a little dark brown liquid on the tip while smoking. So far 2 out of 6 had this issue. Overall I'm satisfied

no more grand habana for me
i have ordered these cigars in the past and found them to be an ok cigar for the price. i ordered more and this order was terrible, they were over humidified and stunk when lit, that will be my last order of grand habano.

Gran Habano Corojo Vintage 2002 Churchill
The cigars have soft spots. Every cigar in the entire bundle canoed so badly that it required about 7 burn offs per cigar.

A cigar to enjoy every day
This is a solid everyday cigar. It's not fancy, the price is more than reasonable, and I've yet to smoke one that didn't I didn't thoroughly enjoy. It pairs well with Lagavulin whisky.

Not long filler....
What you can't see can't hurt you, they say. I cut one of these open and discovered that it is filled with tobacco bits. It i s -not- all long filler. I've like these in the past... but no so sure now.

Great smoke
Great Corojo flavor. Very consistent. Each one tastes like the last. Burns very well. I always buy the 5 x 50 size. Smoke a lot of these on the golf course and give them to friends who always like them

Go To Stick!
Love these cigars. They have been my go to for several years. I don't like artificially flavored cigars but these have a natural slight sweetness to them. Highly recommended!

Tasty, dependable, and budget friendly
This has become a staple smoke in my humidor. A regular go to bold flavor for an extraordinary value.

Very good value short smoke
I like a cigar such as the Gran Habano when I don't have a lot of time and don't want waste half a cigar. Previous purchases have burned a bit more even than this last bunch. Hope that is just a fluke.

Great value Cigar
I have been smoking this Cigar for years now it is a well made long filler cigar with a wrapper that adds to the smooth flavor right down to the nob. I would recommend it to anyone from the beginner right up to the seasoned Pro to give this great tasting cigar a chance you will not be dissatisfied. This is a great company to do business with also what they print about their cigars is the truth being a retired Deputy Sheriff I have time to relax and enjoy my years left knowing my Cigars will be a way to relax and pass my time cause I am disabled to the point that getting around is extremely hard to do, but getting to the back porch and relaxing with a great cigar like this one medium strength which I smoke should be a way to enjoy yourself.

Good Flavor! Short on Tobacco!!
I like the flavor of the cigar but it doesn't burn well simpley because the lack of tobacco in the cigar. It's loosely rolled and it will go flat in your mouth because of the lack of tobacco rolled in the cigar if it was tightly rolled it would be one of my favorite stoggies.

a bit harsh
The burn was inconsistant . Sometime it tasted like you were burning the paper cigar ring.

Amazing
I lost my original step-by-step smoke because I forgot to save it, but I love the cigar. 5/5. Amazing cigar. Venison, Mushroomy, earthy, creamy, with an aftertaste at the very end like almond extract.
