I purchased this tin a few weeks back when CI was having their store wide free shipping promotion. It was the first G.L. tobacco that I have tried. I've been through many different Balkan blends in the past, however. For me Balkans are usually to oriental forward. This one was different. To my palate the latakia mixes perfectly with the orientals to balance out. The Virginias are definitely there, but tend to pop their head in and out. The burleys play a key role in keeping this smoke both cool and tamed. For me I think the burley is the difference maker. While not prominent I can only assume that its presence is what mellows the blend as a whole. If you've been on the fence with Balkans in the past I suggest you give this a look, as this beast seems to be more tamed.
