Drew Estate MUWAT

How much does your cigar weigh?

Introducing Jonathan Drew's latest creation, MUWAT - a most excellent edition to Drew Estate's Subculture Studio. This joint project with Joya de Nicaragua is medium to full in body, and boasts a husky series of 60-ring vitolas booming with flavor. Dark and oily San Andres maduro wrappers conceal a hefty dose of Nicaraguan and Brazilian long-fillers secured by a smooth Connecticut 'Capote' binder. The cigar is hearty and rich, unveiling a deep series of bold yet balanced flavors from start to finish. Layered with complexity - earth, leather, pepper, sweetness, cocoa - the massive 60-ring frame is the ultimate vehicle to savor each of these complex intricacies throughout the slow and cool burn.

I orderd a 10 pack. Guttsy move as i had never tried a MUWAT. But a buddy of mine said the were pretty good so i rolled the dice. And got the 7x60s MY NEW FAVORITE. these will always have a place in my humidor. Beware you need about two hours to commit to these stick but they are well worth it. Ive never had a cigar this full and also incredibly smooth and easy to smoke. I soke these till theres nothing left and its hot on my lips but it never gets harsh. Im in love

I included the MUWAT 5 pack with my recent order because I haven't tried the nightcrawler yet. I've got to say that the nightcrawler is my favorite size in the MUWAT line. Awesome flavor with perfect construction. I will be buying these again, thanks CI :)

These little lovelies just came in the mail today. I was really excited to try them because of all the good reviews. They turned out to be just as amazing as I hoped they would be. The construction, burn, smoke output, taste and aroma is just perfect! I just found my new go to smoke :) Thanks CI!

My Uzi Weighs a Ton... AWESOMESAUCE
So, what can I say about these bad boys? Well first lets start with the first thing you notice, their size. These megalithic bad boys are massive. The size allows for a slow even burn that supplies a smooth taste that last a LONG time. When you first fire this beast up a smooth taste of rich cream, infused with a slight pepper and leather taste smacks your senses in the face. The intoxicating aroma produced by these bad boys had people coming over to me and asking what they were. I would show them, and they would ask for one at which point I would decline giving them one. I coveted these things. Paired with a fine bourbon these things would make me feel as if I were sitting in a fine leather couch wearing an ascot and smoking jacket when in reality I was sitting on the porch. The easiest way to describe the taste of these is.... freedom. If freedom had a taste, this is what it would be. Satisfying yet epic, smooth yet refined, delightful yet not bashful. Should you get some of these? Well... Do you enjoy the finer things in life? If so these will be right up your ally.

The Best in the Drew Estate line!
I was always an ACID Kuba Kuba smoker; but, after trying the MUWAT cigars, I cannot go back. The MUWAT is not the ONLY cigar I will smoke now. If you haven't tried one of these, I highly suggest you start now.

A far better than excellent cigar, an affordable version of the Liga Privada line. Thanks Drew for keeping me in Awesome smokes!
Customer Testimonials
Downed all 10 of them in short order. Amazing, reliable smoke. Tons of thick smoke, not over-powering, and solid from the light to the nub. Hard to put down. I will buy more. If you like Partagas Black, and CAO Brazilia I recommend giving this a try too...and vice versa.
Grabbed one to see what all the hype was about. Right after the light I was pretty impressed. Hints of chocolate and a little spice. After the first third it became boring. And from then on out was one dimensional and bland. I can say it did burn great and produce lost of smoke. But for the price there are much better sticks....
I wonderful 9 hole cigar.
Finally I got to this cigar! I was surprised. It's a really good cigar with good quality in the flavor and construction. Very meaty and downright good complex flavor. It's a go!
Excellent smoke.
I'm with those who say that this stick is their new favorite! From the first light, that thang was smoooooooth! I don't have a finicky palette, but I was impressed with the stick all the way thru, even though I had to relight it about 2/3 of the way thru. I mean, this stick is intimidating when you look at think you're gonna be smokin' a 'Super Punch', as it were, but noooooo! Easily the smoothest taste ever. I do agree with those that it is not a complex taste, but that's okay by me. All I care about is 'do I likey likey', and yep. I do. Will be ordering more of these!
Damn good.
What a great cigar, burns nice not as heavy as I thought. I will be definitely stocking up on these again. They did sit in my humidor for about 2 weeks before I tried 1. No issue with unwrapping of outer wrap. Again another great cigar.
Great smoke!! Not just a novelty. Smooth and lovely, great for a late night long smoke. This was a welcome home stick from my wife from a deployment and I loved it!
Big fan of Drew Estate and the MUWAT line. Find myself smoking these pretty regularly even if they are a little pricey.
These really are excellent full flavored & hearty vitolas. I always rail against the cost of good cigars. MUWAT is no different. The robusto costs nearly 7 bones. For a 5" X 60 90 minute smoke. It is good, too! The luxurious San Andres wrapper & Nicaraguan long fillers are aged to perfection. The boys down at Drew Estate know what they are doing. The Connecticut binder used is brilliant. And adds some creamy depth to a fairly stout overall tobacco ensemble. As we have come to expect from Joya de Nicaragua's master blenders. Overall, a maduro worthy of the hype & worth a try. I can't afford them, but that just puts them in with some of my other favorites like San Lotano & Oliva "V" Serie. As always, I will be looking for a deal, while drowning my sorrow in an affordable Unholy Cocktail, which can still be had for about half the price of MUWAT's gordo robusto. 91/100
This is one of my new favorites! Great smoke, good draw, lots of smoke to enjoy. I like the larger gauges for more smoke time usually so I was a fan of this one from the start. Drew Estate did it again, I hope they never stop making these! Just wished they came in 5 packs on the site.
I smoked my first MUWAT at a shop on a whim after seeing all the nuts on my Facebook group take all those pictures and I have to say they are my new favorite. I wish they were sold in 5 packs on the web though. A solid smooth flavor, easy draw, rich notes and a solid feeling of wellbeing after a good 2 hour smoke. I will be a Drew Estate fan for life now, they sell too many of my favorites!
MUWAT, MUWHY? Any cigar that costs more than 5 bones puts itself out of my comfort zone for what I want to & can afford to pay. As a result, many cigars are only available to me through deals, freebies or add-ons. My Uzi Weighs a Ton is a good example. I will not pay the $6.60 pricetag that the 5" X 60 gordo robusto commands, but I did take advantage of the freebie deal that put 3 of them in my hands at a much more affordable cost of $2.35. At that price, this stogie is the bomb! Featuring my favorite wrapper, a flawless San Andres maduro leaf colored muddy brown & scratchy as sandpaper, MUWAT compliments the SAM leaf with a special Connecticut binder. Nicaraguan long fillers add strength, power & the unmistakable flavors that are part & parcel to Nicaraguan grown tobaccos. Smooth, medium bodied & loaded with flavors like cocoa, green tea & parsnips, I don't find MUWAT nearly as one dimensional as some reviewers have suggested. On the contrary, it seems rather complex, although admittedly not nearly as much so as Undercrown or Joya de Nicaragua's Antano Dark Corojo Doble Fuerte. Both blends are part of the freebie deal mentioned & are superior sticks, in comparison to MUWAT. In summary, I like MUWAT, but have reservations due to the cost.... 90/100
Good stick. Will definitely smoke again. Good flavors, construction, burn and draw. Overpriced? Its JD! Comes with the territory. But my real feeling is this........Put a San Andres maduro wrapper on a car bumper, Ill smoke it, and Ill love it. Just something about these wrappers that get me everytime!!!!!
MUWAT is a great stick from Drew Estate. It is medium bodied with a great flavor of sweetness and cocoa. Will not disappoint. No peppery taste (a plus for me). Holds its ash very well and easy on the draw. Try the 6", 60 gauge Gordo. This smoke lasts a long time. Had one with two Guinness Drafts. A bit more pricey than I wanted to spend at the time, but I definitely got what I paid for.
Very good at first, the more it burned the less appetizing, almost like a peice of bubble gum would
Had a nice and noticeable bite in comparison to other brands. Full smoke. I always wanted to smoke these down to the nub. Not packed very full or tight so that's my only complaint. An 'all business' smoke.
Kentuck Fire Cured - Smelled great out of the wrapper, sort of like hickory smoke slightly sweet. Great draw and ample smoke. Construction was firm, toothy wrapper. Problem is that all the hype will lead you to believe this is a grat stick. I was disappointed at the lack of character, it was rather dull tasting. None of the background flavors really came through as I was expecting. I don't believe they're worth the price they're asking. After all it's a matter of taste.
I love this smoke! The feel, the draw, the smoke output...all great. However, I have had some construction issues (ie wrapper cracked, burn corrections) BUT I still love this stick as my everyday smoke. I know we all have different tastes, but the first 2/3rds is always semi-sweet coffee/leather/cocoa/cedar...the last 3rd has more leather/tobacco/cedar...medium bodied. Hope this helps someone out!
Smoked my first kentucky fire cured chuncky rott. Very one dimensional. Flavors are charred, slight hickory, slight spice. Unless they improve with some sleep, I will not order these again. Although burn and construction were good.
Kentucky Fire Cured- Wrapper-small veins, quite toothy, good oil sheen. 1/3- even burn, white ash, liga and muwat flavors notes, hints of hickory and masquite(verry subtle). Started trying to pair it with port switched to tea getting better flavor notes. 2/3 some pepper and spice notes (now that I'm using tea), smooth, digging the smoky bbq grill thing goin on (makes me wanna grill out and have a cold beer in my hands), feels like a good summer's day cigar. Last half. Got a little more spicy, touch of leather, little cream. Leaves you feeling full
Not a bad stick however, like others said for the money I would have expected better. Flavor profile stayed the same thru out. Now I do not know if this is due to it being dry or not but the wrapper split wide open in the last third. I got it from a good shops humi, it did stay the night in my truck tho so possibly That was it. There are others out there that I like more. This is on the try again another day....
Don't let the Bait Fish fool you. This smokes like a BIG cigar. Produces tons of smoke, very slow burning, great full flavor and of course, the Jonathan Drew quality construction and draw. Don't smoke it too fast or the Uzi will make you Woozy.
I finally smoked the "My Uzi Weighs a Ton"... and the kindest thing I can say is that it smokes well and uniformly. The most honest thing I can say is that it has a dull, unremarkable taste that is underwhelming. I don't say "don't do it", but would say you can get much better bang for your buck.
Not a bad smoke but not worth the price tag. Medium-full flavor, mostly pepper. Would be a great knock around smoke if reasonably priced.
Its an Ok cigar, It starts out very flavorful but by the middle gets kinda nasty and tastes dirty. I feel it's a little overpriced. I can buy a Don Pepin or CAO Brazilia, or Obsidian along the same flavor profile, for much less and enjoy them so much more.
My bad influence gave me my first Uzi while on vacation. Since then I have bought another dozen. I love this cigar.
I love the taste of this cigar. It was extremely smooth. I will definitely order more. Yes, I would recommend My Uzi Weighs a Ton to my friends.
Uzi has a good flavor, I think. But I hate it when a cigar just unravels as you smoke it. I can smoke a hundred other cigars and they hold up just fine, without becoming an unsmokeable mess.
I almost didnt get it because I am not a fan of Drew Estate cigars (the Liga Privada is good but there are others just as tasty for way less cost). I immediately was lectured by the shop owner about how Drews cigars are not flavored, they are infused, which annoyed the hellout of me because I hear and read that everywhere. That being said I love full strength spicy ass kickers. The robusto was earthy leathery toasty and medium full upon lighting. The flavor didn't change much throughout the smoke. Medium full, no spice (which I was craving). The best flavor was when I was about halfway to 3 inches into the smoke it got a bit sweeter and slightly stronger. If you get it free or get a deal, get it. Its a good cigar, but not a great one. There are too many other better and cheaper smokes out there.
The cigar is good. For the price it should have been a lot better, not much going on taste wise. Medium body, little pepper, dry taco taste.
Tried the robusto. Medium-full and very smooth. It has that somewhat typical anise-like flavors that many Nicaraguan cigars have accented by a dark cherry and some peppers and herbal flavors. It's not intensely complex and there was some burn issues midway through but it's still a very impressively-blended cigar that I enjoyed a lot.
I tried out the Toro and was thoroughly impressed. These are a great cigar with great flavor. My only knock is that it's not very complex. Pretty one-dimensional throughout. I would try them again though.
Enjoyed a toro in Ft. Myers Beach two weeks ago. Wonderful smoke. Burned cool and slow with a ton of flavor. Accompanied by a glass of scotch and I was in heaven.
Finally I smoked one of these! no joke I've been waiting months for this to be released. I order right around thanksgiving so it sat in a box somewhere in Philly for a few extra days( normally I get ups 2nd day but CI gave me free shipping USPS). Couldn't wait to open up the mazo and see what these babies looked like. I knew better then to smoke out of the package after sitting in a shipping box for so long so I dropped em in the humi and when they showed signs of tastiness I attacked this thing finally! Nice even burn thick smoke and hints of leather and earth. Med- full hit dead on like described by jd himself. Limited production so I'll be stocking the humidor and letting em age I have a feeling this will be as hard to get as the liga privida flying pig. With that said this stick WAS horrible don't even think of buying it, I'll buy all of em and discard them in a way I see fit.
Bought the churchill type at the mall, and holy crap i learned a valuable lesson about judging a book by its cover. This thing was prolly the best stick I ever tasted.
