Dram Cask #4

Drink up boyo!

Cigars and whiskey have been a classic pairing for centuries. But now, there is a line of cigars whose blend is crafted specifically to pair with certain whiskeys. The brainchild of C & C Cigars, Dram Cigars for Whiskey offers four different blends, each one with a different flavor profile and strength, but all of them created with the perfect pairing in mind. This particular offering is dubbed, Dram Cask #4.

Concealing vintage long-fillers from Nicaragua is a robust Ecuadorian Sumatra binder. A pristine Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper sits atop this enticing blend. Specifically crafted to go perfectly with whiskys from Islay, Highland scotches, and Tennessee Sour Mash Bourbons. Medium to full-bodied, Dram Cask No. 4 features rich notes of smoked wood, leather, and sweet spice. Get acquainted with these gems fast, because they’re sure to fly off the docks even faster.

A very fine stick with a very fine single malt.

Wonderful Smoke
Binder is tight to make a nice even draw throughout the smoke.

Scotch blogger tries his first cigar!
This was my first cigar EVER. I had a friend walk me through the process and I have to say... pretty nifty experience. I got the cigar free from Whisky Extravaganza in DC and figured why not. I only gave it four stars because it was great to me but with no frame of reference, I can only assume there will be better at some point. My palate is really tuned for scotch (I'm a blogger for ScotchNSniff) so I figured this cigar thing might be as exciting but not so much with this particular cigar. There was an initially bitter smell in the first few draws but it quickly evolved into really robust coffee bean. Just a coffee shop full of a dark, bitter, robust coffee bean. Fantastic for the first half but the one noted nature of the cigar continued till the end of the final third. Not bad at all if you love your coffee black. A great introduction to cigars, doubly so because it was free!
