Don Smith

Don Smith!

Don Smith - Series D no less, actually "Series Dee" - is amazing. Not the cigar....the concept. Take Don. Here's a traditional start to a cigar name. Then combine it with the most common Gringo surname. Then, actually spell out the letter 'D' in Series Dee. This takes cheese to a whole new level. The amusement factor alone is worth the price. And you may be surprised to know the cigar actually ain't half bad. Made with Sumatra Ecuador wrappers and a mellow blend of Dominican long-fillers, these big Churchills are moderate in body and not overly dreadful.

Not a bad smoke. Doesn't hold up too well to a punch. Better of to cut it. Won't unravel when wet. The smoke itself is a little too mild for me but it's a great starter for the price. Got them on sale from CI and got a good deal on 20 I'll get them again it's a great fishing smoke.

Long drink sticks
Good taste, well rolled. Have burnt 3 so far. Little bit of an after bite on any 'relights'. Finish this stick in one sitting for sure. I will be getting more of these later on down the road.

Love them
This is one of the best deals I have ever gotten from CI. These things are great. I wish I would have ordered more. Will definitely order them again in the future.

Good milder cigar for the
Good milder cigar for the price. It is not 100% there's a bit of a mediumblend to it. A couple of canoe burns here and there...just start and use with a cigar lighter-not the bic from the 7-11.

Good for the $$
They are OK for the price. You were out of my number 1 brand, so I had to settle for second best.

Another winner from CI!!!
Great cigar!! Nice ,slow burn, easy draw. A good cigar for the buck!!!

I'm not a fan.
I'm not a fan. Almost every cigar required relighting, if I could even manage to get a decent initial draw.

Don Smith Churchill
To coin a phrase, "a good 5 cent cigar". I wouldn't pass them around at my daughters wedding but would share them on the fairway.

Always enjoy don smith cigars! I'm waiting for po boy sampler.

Not impressed
Wish I could give a glowing review but I cannot. While they are low cost I found them to be hard to draw and too strong for me. Perhaps others have had better results but I can only provide my viewpoint. I did expect them to be a good choice for me but in this case it just did not work out.

Terrible smoke!!!
Very loosely wrapped the cigar is tough to draw. Not favorable at all. Extremely disappointing

ok but nothing special
Ok for every day. For me the flavor profile was more of a medium than mild cigar. Overall they smoked ok though some needed to be relit a couple of times. A couple in each bundle tunneled, or canoe'd, OR hard draw. Most were good but a bit hot close to the nub. In reality I'd give them a 3.75

Inexpensive but not Cheap
These are some of the best, mild smokes around and can hold their own compared to some more pricey cigars!

worst cigar ever
Worst cigar I've ever smoked. I mean the worst, nice looking cigar in a maduro wrapper, I tried smoking 30 of these and they're as hard as a rock. It's not that they're not moist, they're wrapped so tight you cant draw on them. I even put an icepick down the middle of the cigar to try & draw smoke, no go. nothing works. I had them in my humidor. If you buy this cigar YOU'LL BE DISAPPOINTED!

Good smokes for the price
They are well made and stay lit. Although a bit stronger than I like they are not bad for the price.

Nice, consistent smoke.
Very good for the price. Consistent, made well, no canoeing, no falling apart. I see a lot of folks describe these as mild, but to me, they are more of a medium or medium plus. Only bad thing for me is that they tend to burn quickly. But for the low price, I can smoke two. No problem.

Don Smith Churchill
A good rich taste, smokes well when the wrapper does not come loose. Still, a decent cigar for the money.

Good for the price .
It's a good buck cigar . Mild , good flavor , easy draw . I wonder about the filler . A lot of it ends up in my mouth and once in a while I pull out some things . Would I buy more . Yes .

Good cigar, thanks
I like a smooth cigar and this was it. I don't like to spend an arm and a leg on my cigars so these fit the ticket. Thanks for the deal.
Customer Testimonials
Great value, very fast shipping and a good smoke for the dollar. Plus the cigars were fresh; another reason to deal with CI!!
The ones I've smoked, probably 5, burned evenly, produced a reasonably good flavor and smoke. I've paid a lot more for a cigar and was really dissapointed. A deal for the PRICE!
Of all the cigars in the Po' Boy III Sampler, I enjoyed this one. Needed frequent re-lighting, but the taste was actually good.
An overall good smoke for a cheap stick.
real good smoke. nice and long good flavor. Definitely a good choice
I'm surprised at the bad reviews. First off, what do you expect for a $1 cigar? Actually, I've tried quite a few of the $1 cigars here, and they are pretty bad.....except this one. It is a GOOD $1 cigar. If you want a better cigar than this, spend more than a buck. Otherwise, if you want some smokable single ducat sticks, here you go.
Okay not a top brand but didn't expect it to be. However I like the woody tones and it is a smooth smoke. The cap isn't well done so be careful if you bite it off. It is still better than machine made cheap nasties by far.
For the price this is a great everyday smoke. Every one I take out of my humidor has had an even burn and nice taste. I wouldn't recommend them if you like to chew on the end as it will fall apart. I am very pleased for what I got.
I am surprised by all the bad reviews. While not the best I ever smoked, I found this to be a pleasant smoke. At the current price of $1 a stick I think it's a bargain.
Despite the bad reviews this cigar got on here, i actually liked this cigar very much. They are loosely rolled, but to me, they had a very nice aroma. I got these in a Po Boy II sampler and other than the Victor Sinclair cigars in the sampler, i like these Don Smith cigars the best out of the sampler. I will buy these again.
I will save these for when I have an emergency like running out of the good stuff. Don't have a novice try these, they won't want to smoke cigars again if they do.
Ah, the Don Smith Series Dee. My advice: Buy a bundle and give them out to your friends who always try to mooch a good cigar. It does produce a lot of smoke. Unfortunately, it's not good smoke. It certainly belongs on the UNSMOKEABLE list. If nothing else, it helps you to really appreciate the cigars you do enjoy.
Well, what can I say...... I suppose if I was stranded on a desert island and it was smoke either these or palm fronds, I'd smoke these. Really not bad, but not great.
This is a beautiful presentation but the overall cigar was a bit to be desired. At the beginning, the taste was "right on" for a sumatra wrapper. The burn was uneven and hard to keep lit. Then the entire stick became soft and mushy.
A mild bodied cigar with strong woody overtones. Smooth, no spice. Kept its character to the very end. Loosely rolled, it became very mushy next to the heat of the cherry, but otherwise well constructed with no runs. This is a cheap cigar, but with none of the harshness associated with cheap tobacco. Good for golfing or mowing the lawn. If you are in the store, get the Bag O' Dung so you can add the band to your collection. Hey, Joe! Hows about sending me a real cigar for this real review. :-)
Should remain on the UN-SMOKE-ABLE list. However, it is not bad tasting. Better then some $5 sticks I have smoked. I won't buy them again, but I will smoke one here and their and thank God I have enough money coupled with C.I. specials that keep my boat afloat.
Yeah, a cheap Dominican (there’s a million of those!) cigar. Blugh!
Wow, I finally made it in this world. I have my own cigar. If you guys are interested I could send you some photos of me smoking the cigar and you could use them in your ads. Or maybe me on the deck of a big yacht or other similar activities. This could be HUGE.
