Don Sixto by Nestor Plasencia

A Don times six.

No doubt by now you've heard of Nestor Plasencia - the guy does it all. From seed to rolling table, and everything in between, he's a pro. But long before Nestor, there was Don Sixto. Responsible for establishing the family name in Cuba, he was also one of the first pioneers to ever plant tobacco seeds in Honduras and Nicaragua, forever changing the cigar industry. Created in his honor, enter Don Sixto cigars.

Carefully crafted in Honduras, each Don Sixto comes draped in a seamless Honduran Connecticut wrapper, drawing you in from first glance. Nestled just beneath this flawless wrapper, a rich core of Nicaraguan and Honduran long-fillers, hugged by a Nicaraguan Habano binder. A bold yet balanced bouquet greets the senses, producing smooth, cool burn. Notes of cream, nougat, leather, cedar, earth and a caramel-esque sweetness all make an appearance. Remaining medium in body throughout, but loaded with big-time flavor, the Don Sixto is hands down a must-try handmade.

Don Sixto is a definte winner
Lives up the Plasencia tradition as the burn and consistency is par excellence in the Nestor tradition. I usually age my cigars via my humidor for 3-4 months before smoking them however in this case I lit up one of these puppies when they arrived. The flavor palette was quite smooth and good although it seemed to lack the complexity of other Nestors blends. A few weeks later after resting in my humidor the palette of the cigar opened up a little more and smoothed out even more.

Let Down
I'm a big fan of Plasencia torpedoes and thought that the Don Sixto would be along the same quality. But unfortunately I'm disappointed the first 2 out of the box have been tight and harsh I hope that I can find one that is up to the Plasencia quality I expected.

Good cigar
Great smoke for the price. More mild than medium strength in my opinion. Great for beginners!
Customer Testimonials
I'm not an expert by any means, but I have had plenty of other cigars better than this one... This one was harsh on the pallet, and had a uneven burn...
Smooth and great tasting cigar. Handsome and robust. A wonderful aroma too.
THE best mild-med cigar I have ever tried and I have smoked many....Reasonably priced, heavy, substantial in hand, good draw and burn, and good looking cigar. A truly delicious smoke, especially if you let it rest for a few weeks. A must morning cigar with a cup of coffee and a good any-time smoke. I highly recommend it. CI ROCKS!!
