I thought the first one was tasteless except for the pepper. Given 6 months rest they have made my top 10.
My favorite Pepin. I smile whenever I smoke this cigar & thank the Master Don Pepin for such wonderful talent he shares with us all .
Just tried this one tonight. Still a novice in the cigar world but this was a good stick to build my palette. Smooth first 1/3 then it exploded with hints of vanilla & dark cherry on the nose. With 1/3 left it changed to killer notes of buttery almond. It was like that first bad ass red wine when you understand why people enjoy something. And it only costs $7.50... I want more!!
Went to the smoke shop looking for something different and chose the Sublimes stick. Wasn't let down on this one. Some good flavor cant go wrong went back again for a few more.
To begin with, I am not a big fan of Pepin Garcia cigars. It seems like Pepin uses a healthy dose of the pepper shaker for most of his cigars. The Series JJ is the one smoke in his inventory that I do enjoy. I like a full powered smoke such as this and the pepper tones are kept to a minimum. These are sometimes hard to find and a little pricey but well worth your effort to track them down.
The best $8.00 cigar ever.....
Enjoyed one of the Serie JJ Belicoso's the other day that I got out of a sampler pack. Very earthy and leathery, tons of flavor. The first 3/4" or so was a little harsh, but after that it smoothed out and got very tasty. Nice change of pace from my usual smokes.
This is a very attractive cigar with lots of smoke and and even burn. Medium strength with a velvety smooth draw and nutty flavor. Very well balanced and consistent right down to the end. I've grown to really like this smoke over the blue and black labels.
DPG Serie JJ is TOP SHELF!!! A great medium-bodied, eventful masterpiece by Don Pepin. Good spice taste mixed with notes of cocoa all well balanced throughout until the last puff. Good burn, good draw, and always consistent. I would give it a 95 rating.
I've bought a five pack from Joe a year ago and during that time I smoked four very early. At that time I felt it was over rated until I smoked one almost a year later. This one is truly a fine Cigar all it needs a year of aging an you'll see a big difference. I only regret that I smoked them to early. Never again I'll make that mistake twice. I just wanna get my hands on a few from Joe but he's playing hard to get.
Been smoking cigars for 27+ years now and never tried a DPG-JJ until now.Got the Belicosos and of course smoked one the same day. This is a most excellent cigar-extra full body, extra full flavor, ultra complex,a third of the way through I was a little buzzed,by the time I got to the nub(about 1/2 inch),I couldn't wipe the smile off of my face!Very slow burn as well, took almost 2 hours.Well done Senor Pepin,ThanksCI!
This is a TOP DRAWER SMOKE. I have nothing more to say.
"Man.....are these legal"? The Don Pepin Garcia Serie JJ, earthy, i mean dirt earthy, pleasantly spicy and there's a syrupy tasting finish (not sweet) that was both surprising and delicious. I think these sticks would age nicely.........if i can keep my hands off em'. Good smoke.
ANOTHER awesome cigar from Don P! (Mr. Pepin's white label )JJ has earned even more of my respect (as if he didn't have a lot already with the Black label). You will be absolutely amazed at the subtle, yet spicy flavor of this cigar. I enjoy a good Cuban cigar and have found it to be an expensive habit that had to be tamed with a "legal" alternative. I've smoked countless Cohibas, Monte Cristos, Partagas, Romeo Y Julietas, H. Upmanns and Bolivars, the Don Pepin black and the white labels rival them all. I am still waiting on the Tatuaje's to be back in stock so I can try that line as well. Don Pepin is an amazing cigar master and will revive the cigar industry from the "fancy boxes and ribbons for a premium price" companies.
You sure this isn't CUBAN??? It's quite clear how much effort was put into this puro. (Don Pepin Garcia Serie JJ) A very heavy, layered deep smoke. Well constructed, well though out cigar. Delivers a bold earthy flavor. I really liked it. I recommend you eat a full meal before enjoying this stick of dynamite.
As a cigar smoker of almost 30 years standing, I have in recent years beocme bored with most smokes and often feel I am smoking the same thing, regardless of the brand. I ordered the Don Pepin sampler and my taste buds came alive. I tried the Serie JJ tonight while walking my dog in this unbelievably warm January night. The first thing that struck me was the depth of flavor - something I hadn't experienced for a while. The full body was one of flavor, rather than strength, spicimess as opposed to power. These cigars will be one my "go to's" from now on.
Very nice pre-light aroms, pleasant flavour but not a very good burn...difficult to keep even. (Don Pepin Garcia Serie JJ)
Outstanding, simply the best medium to full body cigar (Don Pepin Garcia Serie JJ) on the market today. This guy pepin knows how to blend a cigar. Trust me you won't be disapointed.
