Belgian for "Fat Buttocks"!
There's a breed of cattle that originated in Belgium around the 19th century as a result of crossbreading local breads of cattle with a Shorthorn breed of cattle from the United Kingdom. The result is an ultra-muscular cow that converts feed into additional muscle fibers, resulting in a leaner meat. You may be asking yourself, "What the hell does this have to do with cigars?" Well, the answer is simple, the name of this breed of cattle is the Belgian Blue!
The Crowned Heads Belgian Blue is one of the strongest in a long line of nuanced and complex Crowned Heads cigars. Using a Mexican San Andres leaf for the wrapper over an Ecuadorian binder and long-fillers from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, the Belgian Blue lives up to its name. 75% of the long-fillers come from the strong ligero primings of the tobacco plant, and lend strength to this handmade's flavor profile of molasses, baking spices, cedar, and a healthy dose of pepper compared to the rest of the Crowned Heads line.
