Camacho Pre-Embargo

Camacho's finest. A robust, yet elegant treat.

Camacho is synonymous with ‘full.’ Full-bodied, full-flavored, and full of character. Indeed, Camacho blends tend to be powerful yet well-balanced creations that offer superior flavor and aroma characteristics. This is precisely why makers Christian and Julio Eiroa have developed such a loyal cult-like following.

Camacho Pre-Embargo is one of the most unique cigars on the market. The blend begins with a vintage '99 Jamastran Corojo wrapper draped around a complex filler blend including a significant portion of authentic pre-embargo Cuban tobacco - the very same tobaccos used in Camacho's beloved Liberty series. Medium in body with a rich flavor profile, Camacho's 1962 Pre-Embargo size brings copious amounts of flavor, including wood, leather, nuts, and spices.

worth it when on sale
A little dry upon arrival, but some time in the humidor fixed that. The shaggy foot is the wrapper only, no filler. You can certainty taste the old tobacco. Overall, a fine reminder of what once was...

Great Cigar
These baby's are amazing. Really enjoyed the smoke and flavor that it had.

A must try.
I was a little hesitant to buy because I didn't believe the hype. I found them to be smooth with an excellent draw. Soft but no burn issues. Smoked three in two days, I found them that enjoyable. Just ordered another pack of five. Give them a try, u won't be disappointed.

Delicious cigar!
Definitely Cuban-esque in flavor! Just a pleasure to smoke. Too expensive to be my daily stick, but worth buying for the occasional treat.

Good cigar, enjoyable
Okay....if you go into this cigar knowing it's not a full Cuban smoke, and you enjoy a mellow to moderate smoke, buy these! They have a good story about what they are made of, and are a smooth and long lasting cigar. I share them with a select few of my friends that I know can appreciate a good cigar.

Pricey, yes, but as close to an authentic Cuban as I've tried. Delicious.

Poor construction.
Love the flavor profile; however, the last two boxes have had construction issues. The cigars are very soft and do not stay lit after the first third and the burn is not razor sharp. Frustrating to constantly have to re-light.

Great cigar!
Closest thing to a Cuban puro that I've tasted. Just a great cigar. But MAN, are they expensive! Look for a deal & try this stick.

Okay, I've just begun my 2nd 5-pack of these cigars. I bought my 1st 5'er about a year ago. Since then, I've had the pleasure of tasting authentic Cuban cigars on a precious few occasions. The reason I've taken my sweet time with these being... these carry within them the very essence of that Cuban taste. Maybe it's no Montecristo #2, but I'm inclined to put it up there with Cohiba, maybe even the Partagas Serie D... I'm no veteran smoker, but I know what tastes good. And this... tastes... f^

A disappointment
Having tried genuine Cohibas in Mexico, I jumped at the chance to get my hands on a five pack of these. Color me disappointed. They are OK smokes, but not really more than that. I noticed none of the flavor or punch that I have come to expect from genuine Cubans. Glad that I tried them, but I won't be buying any more.

Wonderful tasting stogie
I love this cigar, that being said, there's probably only about a teaspoon of pre-embargo tobacco in it, and it's probably just a gimmick to get you to buy it. But, buy it you should because it's an amazing tasting cigar. Mine had a rolled up tobaccount leaf on all 5 feet.....foots? Lol had to trim it off, that was probably the pre-embargo tobacco. I knock one star off, Because by the time they reach me they are dry as an old Dead stick, CI should consider boveda packs when shipping in a ziplock. I think it's a matter of where I live that causes them to take more than a week.

Excellent Cigar
I have smoked about a dozen of these pre-embargo cigars now and absolutely love them. They are not densely rolled and have an excellent draw and burn line. My favorite aspect is the flavor profile - you CAN tasted the Cuban tobacco in these and you know what I mean if you have smoked Cubans before. I can taste it beginning after the first inch. The smoke intensity is just right and every time I finish one I want another. I have filled up a small humidor with only these and I recommend you buy them before they are all gone.

Special cigar!
There is something truly unique and special about this cigar. The price is a little steep but as a special occasion smoke, this is absolutely worth having in your humidor. It does carry some of the qualities of a cuban puro. Just... WOW! great cigar!

Camacho Pp
This was a cigar given to me by a buddy, and I'm shocked to say that it's probably the cigar of the year to me. Perfect draw and construction, and the flavor profile is exquisite. (Coming from a guy whose humidor us widely ranged) I have to say that this is one of my most perfect examples of flavor, balance, power, and taste to date. This is no everyday smoke, but one reserved for those most special occasions . Leather, earth, clove, ... it's all in there on this one!

definitely something different
I just finished enjoying 3 of these with my father and good friend of mine, absolutely awesome smoke definitely something "different" in there I can't put my finger on it, almost vanilla creme flavor. Either way a wonderful cigar I'm just sad I only have two of them left in my humidor.

Picked these up when they were on sale for 40% off. WOW, what a steak that was! They are actually worth the regular price, nice relaxing smoke. Nice burn, a little loose on the roll so it burns a little faster than your average toro. Very nice draw so worth the trade off. Its about as close to cuban as you can get and still be 100% legal.

Customer Testimonials
The Camacho PE...gimmick or not? IMHO it comes across as a wonderfully balanced and complex med-full bodied cigar. The wood, nut, and pepepper notes are right up my alley. The experience is unique and refreshing. There is even a bit of strength to remind you it's a camacho. The cost is totally justified for such a enjoyable stick. I'll be buying more soon.
Awesome cigar! Smoked my first one for my birthday since I was born in 1962. Will smoke one for every birthday going forward. I only wish I had a birthday and the $$$ to smoke one every day.
Hands down the best cigar I've ever smoked. This is coming from a man who's first favorite was the diamond crown maximus, then onto Padron '26 and '64, Camacho 10th anniversary and liberty, Cain by oliva, and a bunch of others. There are great cigars, plenty of 2nd place winners, but this one takes the gold.
I had this cigar last night for first time and was blown away by how smooth it was. It had an incredibly easy draw too. I have been overseas before and had several Cuban cigars, including Cohiba and other premium makers. None of the matched this sticks smoothness.
This cigar starts out smooth and toasty, then develops into a full flavored spicy treat. Is it worth the money? The CI box of three is worth a try. Bottom line is this cigar very satisfying. The less expensive corojo or black label are just as good and full flavored but this one is unique. Rolled excellent and spongey with a perfect smokey draw. A+
If you're familiar with the CAO Vision, then prepare yourself to meet it's bigger, badder, better brother... an extraordinary cigar!
Awesome!!!!In my personal top 5 cigars of all time along with the Liberty 09'.It will be a sad day in cigar world when this special, rare tobacco runs out!
First of all I have to say for people deployed down range, CI processes orders very quickly, I usually receive my orders within 5-7 days and that is ridiculous for Afghanistan. Next these Pre-Embargo Camacho are hands down the best cigar I have smoke. I am a fan of Pedomo Lot 23s and Gurkha V Empire series. But these Comachos I recommend for a special occasion. Such as redeployment! Just put in my last order of them!
Being unemployed, I have been living on a diet of inexpensive cigars. I bought a couple of these just to see if they lived up to the hype. they! I savored this cigar like no other. The complexity was divine. The full bodied strength tempered with a smoothness I've not tasted. I have one left and will hold on to it until a time comes when I think I deserve it. "If I were a rich da dee dee dee dum!"
One of the best cigars I have ever smoked! The wrapper, pigtail cap, shaggy foot, box, band, and presentation are all A++ The taste is one of a kind! Lots of spice and wood. Hints of pepper through the nose. Mostly medium in body but will pick up flavor to more full body for some of cigar. The most interetesting thing I found about this cigar is the flavor. The combination of the wrapper and the filler tobaccos! It is impossible to describe! I know there is a portion of pre-embargo filler leaf and all I can say about this is you can tell there is something special in there when you smoke it! Definitely something different! Try the 3 box soon but be careful they are so good you might have to buy a 25 box!
I tried the three stick sampler for 40 bucks. Loved them. Got two more samplers for $30 when they were on sale. I've smoked them all and I'm considering the box. That's how good they are! They aren't cheap but they sure are good!
I'll keep this simple. The (Camacho Pre-embargo) is a MUST have!!! I have sampled many of the finest brands from Graycliff to Opus X, Montecristo Habanos to Partagas D4. This cigar is easily one of my personal favorites. From first draw to the band, the PE is absolutely amazing. It is everything the refined palette could ask for (and more).
