AVO Syncro Nicaragua

AVO goes flat and hits a high note.

AVO cigars are the brainchild of composer Avo Uvezian and the master blender of Davidoff cigars, Henke Kelner. Usually known for their mellow to medium-bodied Dominican flavor profile, AVO cigars have embarked on a new journey with the Avo Syncro, seeking to incorporate the diverse flavors from tobaccos sourced from Nicaragua, Peru, and the Dominican Republic.

AVO Syncro Nicaragua is AVO’s first box-pressed cigar, and the first in its portfolio to use nutrient-rich tobacco from the revered black volcanic soils of Ometepe, Nicaragua. Coming dressed in a gorgeous, oily, dark, Ecuador Habano wrapper concealing a Dominican binder and Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Peruvian Olancho long-fillers, AVO Syncro Nicaragua makes its presence known immediately.

Medium to full-bodied, and with spot-on construction, expect a flavorful kick of spice and pepper before the cigar settles into notes of cream, leather, and cedar. Complex and boasting wonderful balance that AVO consistently delivers, Syncro will have you chomping at the bit for another go 'round.

AVO Syncro Nicaragua received Top 25 honors for 2015 and a welll-deserved 93-rating noting: "blocky dimensions and smart blending allow each tobacco to express itself, showing notes of leather, minerals and a dried apricot sweetness."

Another AVO Winner
I have been a fan of AVO cigars for many years and the Syncro fits in this top shelf line nicely. This is the first box-pressed delight they have offered, and although not my favorite shape, I still enjoyed this smoke immensely. My palate was treated to a smooth creamy flavor with notes of spice and leather. The burn was great with no touch-ups needed, and had loads of aromatic smoke. You owe it to yourself to try one of these gems!

Very tasty!!
I've only been smoking cigars now for about 6 months I've definitely had my fair share of premium cigars numerous different wrappers, and profilesThe Avo Syncro Nicaragua I will have to say is definitely the best cigar i've smoked to date. It's one of the few cigars that I've smoked that you can actually taste the flavor notes in the description of the cigar.

AVO Assessment...
Just as "art is in the eyes of the beholder".. so is a great cigar when it comes to taste and strength. For me, nothing has ever compared to a Fuentes OpusX Madero. Back in the early 2000 timeframe, this cigar was seasonal, in that it usually became available around the fall timeframe.. .then it no longer became available until the following fall season. At the time those particular cigars sold between $25-$30 per stick. They were well worth it, according to my preferences in the following, which I've learned defines a great cigar: 1) full bodied, strong flavor from the start, yet not harsh; even and consistent burn; 2) By the halfway point, the flavor seemed to get richer/tastier. 3) The finish: To me this is very important. No one wants to smoke a cigar where once you reach the halfway point it becomes so harsh and hot that you cannot finish it!! So with the OpusX Madero... I would smoke it down to the point where it was too small to hold onto it.. and the flavor was nothing short of spectacular. It's been years since I've smoked one of those cigars, yet the memory was lasting. This is the standard that I use to judge a cigar.... what makes a great cigar compared to what makes an above average, average, poor or terrible cigar! AVOs, which I used to smoke from time to time I would rate somewhere between a 3-star to 4-star calibre.

Nice surprise
I guess I didn't realize this was a nicely package 5 pack of AVOs in an attractive box. AVO makes a great cigar although some are too mild. I really liked this one, not to mention I got these for a very reasonable price.

Hoping the second will be better!!!
I was excited to get these "94" rated cigars on a deal. I was a little surprised at the awful taste when I first lite the cigar but it turned into a pleasant smoke but the last third of the cigar. Thinking back I had just put fresh butane in my lighter and only fired it once before lighting the AVO. Perhaps I heated the foot too much before lighting the cigar and some butane taste lingered in the cigar. I'll be lighting the next when with wooded matches to see if there is a difference and will report back. till excited about the deal - great price

What's goin' on over there?!?!?
It took a whole 2 days for my Avo Syncro Nicaragua Toro's to arrive. They are a great smoke! The deal I got on MMAO was fantastic. Knock it off. You're making the other internet companies look bad! BY THE WAY, WHAT'S WITH THE CIGARFEST WAITING LIST??!!

The best AVO I have had
I have had almost every AVO cigar and in my opinion most of them are over rated and way to expensive for the quality. This blend is an exception. Great burn, medium body and great flavor. Lots of coffee flavors. I am only giving it four stars because these cigars are very light and loosely rolled.

AVO Rocks Nicaragua!
Syncro Nicaragua is special. Featured at the Blog Front Page on www.mdhconsult.com. A well constructed, tasty stick that I'd spark daily if I had them. Must buy.

AVO Synchro Nicaragua Toro
This is an ultra smooth box pressed cigar with a flawless draw and burn. Hints of dark chocolate, cherry, leather and a hint of wood make this one a pleasure to smoke. Its a good 1-1/2 hour cigar

My new favorite from Avo since Avo Maduro #2

A bit disappointed.
Inconsistent construction, some loosely rolled with uneven burn, some had great taste, others a bit rough. Not wild about box press.
