La Sirena has knocked it out of the park. I kept hearing great things about La Sirena and I now know what the fuss is all about. This is my new favorite cigar; very smooth with a perfect touch of boldness. Fantastic!
Before I drop 10 bucks on a stick I personally like to read a lot of people's opinions. I went ahead and grabbed one finally and the majority was correct, this stick rocks. One guy on every site complained about flaking and I saw none of this. My assumption is that he needs to learn to humidify his stock. I will be buying a box! A+ time to try a Merlion!
This is by far the best smoke I have had in my 12 years of enjoying a cigar. Coupled with some bourbon is better than two blondes....
I'm a new cigar smoker, just started last year and I love the La Serina sea sprite's. I can't wait to try the other sizes!
I am a La Sirena fanatic. My local 'gar shop knows that I will buy at least 1 or 2 La Sirenas every time I visit them. Why? Because it is FANTASTIC... I give it a 93 rating personally. The flavor profile is very good for this type of 'gar. It is not overly complex but definitely changes as it goes on... building strength as well. At the end you will feel a little bit heady, so smoke on a full stomach. Not a lot of shops carry this so if you trade cigars as often as I do, be sure to keep a stock of them handy - they are a real jewel and a great bargain chip. The only complaint I have about this is the draw, it is tight. I recommend straight-cutting off 1/4" at the foot, that improves the draw dramatically.
First off, I have to say that no cigar has inspired me to write a review so much as La Sirena. My favorite smokes have always been full flavored knockouts along the lines of C.A.O.'s Brazilia or Man O'War. Cigars that not only stand out, but insist that you know what you've gotten yourself in to. I was recommended La Sirena one day by someone who knows my taste in cigars. Always open to new brands and suggestions, I gave one a try. It was the Churchill size if I remember correctly. The initial light was sweet and earthy, followed by bursts of pepper. It reminded me of a Pepin Garcia blend. (I didn't know it at the time, but it is a Garcia blend!) The spiciness is prominent throughout, but notes of chocolate and coffee catch up to the pepper around halfway through. The burn is fantastic, and the flavor notes vary throughout with the peppery spice dominant (like many of Don Pepin's blends). The finish is clean, and never leaves your mouth feeling spent of sour. I've had three of the sizes offered, and each presents it's own unique experience. La Sirena has quickly become my number one favorite smoke. A little bourbon, some Van Morrison, and a La Sirena is about as close to heaven one can get. If you enjoy full flavored, spicy cigars, you owe it to yourself to give La Sirena a shot. I can't say enough good things about this cigar. Don Pepin, you're my friggin' hero.
