Sol by Drew Estate Toro
These cigars are not wrapped worth a damn! The first two I smoked started coming apart half way through the smoke; the third made it three quarters through before unraveling. The smoke itself isn't too bad. It's not a Tabak Especial, but not bad. If they were wrapped properly, I'd more than likely give it a four rating.

Great Flaver...worth the experience.
This is a great smoke...flavor is amazing form start to finish. I would recommend to anyone just starting out or if you just are looking for that unique flavorful mild-medium cigar. I will always keep few of these in humidor.

Flavor til the END
For the price, it's the best flavor infused cigar I've ever had. Burns real nice too. I only had 1 out of 7 get uneven. 35-45 minute smoke

Great deal for some Drew Estate infused
If your an ACID fan, than these sticks will interest you. I swear they are made from the trimmings from the Kuba Kuba benches and they're half the price. The burn is OK, the draw is pretty easy being a mixed filler cigar and the aroma is pretty amazing. Give them a try!

good for the price
I order these fairly regularly in the larger size, they smoke awesome and has a very good flavor and a great price point. Ordered the smaller size for a quicker winter time smoke and they still smoke good but burn is very irregular compared to the larger sizes.

Good smoke for good price.
Always get these on the 2-Fer deals. A good smoke. Mild, even burn. A staple in my humidor. Try 'em !!

Great little flavored cigar
I first tired this cigar as a part of a sampler and found it to be a good (and cost effective) substitution for some of the ACID line of cigars. The Isla del Sol comes from the same place as the ACID line and Drew Estate has done a great job with this cigar. the wrapper may not be picture perfect, the filler is not long-filler and the cap is swetened, but it burns good and is enjoyable....even my wife likes it!

One of my favorites
I'm a relatively new cigar smoker and this is quickly becoming one of my favorite cigars.

Perfect morning cigar with coffee
I have been enjoying Isla del Sole for several years now; it has been my morning cigar with my second cup of coffee. I use a punch to preserve as much of the cap as possible so that I can taste the sweetness before lighting; occasionally I will just "pretend smoke it" without lighting because the sweetness on the lips combined with the coffee - to me - is a great way to start the morning. There is almost always an even burn and whatever early "canoeing" appears returns to an even burn after about five minutes. This cigar has an even, full, smooth draw with lots of smoke. For me, lasts thirty to forty minutes. I smoke it to about an inch from the tip where it begins to taste harsh and tarry at which point I discard it. The price for a box has been consistent for a couple of years now and I consider it a perfectly priced cigar for the quality and enjoyment received.

Outstanding
I am an assistant superintendent on a golf course and was looking for something to help me get through those long days that didn't cost a whole lot....This is it...Quality and taste are wonderful and the price is right...will get these again!

Great smoke.
This cigar is a great smoke. Mild with a smooth coffee / chocolate taste. Just right for me.

They were ok, must enjoy sweet tip.
They were decent cigars but you can find better for the money. Don't buy unless on sale and you enjoy a sweet tip. It was too sweet for me. I'll finish the box but im not purchasing again. Also the box is made of cardboard and does not close, just wrapped in plastic is all.

Disapointed to say the least
I figured from Drew Estate it would be good. Honestly I did not like them. They are very loose wrapped, burn unevenly and dont have the coffe notes that I expected. I would not recommend and would say to look at other options.

Great Smoke
Sweet tip, mild enough for a good cheap smoke. Right up there with other Drew Estates like kuba kuba and Blondies.

Great Cigar
Another excellent cigar from Drew Estate. They've nailed the infusion process for this cigar and I thoroughly enjoy this cigar with a cup of coffee after my dinner. It has a sweet cap with a mocha/coffee flavor throughout. I wish they would offer this in a Gordo size. Nonetheless I'll keep on buying them.

Not great
Had a lot higher expectation for this cigar based off of reviews and description. Way too chocolate-y and the pieces of the wrapper kept flaking off into my mouth as I smoked it. Not the worst I've ever had but certainly not my favorite. I like Java's and was hoping to find a cheaper, somewhat comparable alternative but this was not it.

Isla del Sol
One of my favorite cigars! Have purchased these twice now. Great flavor and not overpowering.

Inexpensive cigar
Isla Del Sol provides a smooth smoke at a very reasonable price. I call it my "breakfast cigar" that I enjoy while having my morning coffee. It provides a smooth flavor and it is not overly sweet like the Acids.

Isla del Sol
These sticks had too much off-flavor sweetness for my taste. I handed the rest of them over to a pal. He agreed, but accepted the Isla del Sol cigars graciously commenting that there would be occasions on his truck driving route that would suit him.

Cafe Con Leche a better bet
Isla Del Sol is a decent cigar. If you like sweet, you'll like this cigar. If you don't, you won't. It is a nice change, but certainly not an everyday cigar. There is a reason Drew Estate's Tabak Cafe Con Leche is a higher priced cigar. It is a cigar, that while sweet, still has a lot of depth. That said, this smoke certainly isn't a bad stick. In an attempt to some type of reference (which is what I'm always desperate for, but rarely get in a customer review) the Isla Del Sol is "light." In contrast, while the El Mejor Espresso is a "medium" body cigar it has a much fuller flavor. If the El Mejor Espresso and the Isla Del Sol had a baby... it would be the Tabak Especial Cafe Con Leche. On the flip side, you could smoke an E.M Espresso and an Isla Del Sol for the same cost as one of the Cafe Con Leche.

Nice Cigar--but I think Stronger than Advertised?
Good, smooth, well-constructed, with a hint of anise in the aroma. However, I didn't think it was mild. I thought more medium trending toward full. At least the one I smoked gave me a full nicotine high and the sweats--which for me is very unusual.

Excellent, Sweet, Affordable Stick
I find this cigar to be much like the ACID Kuba Kuba only a little more affordable. The packaging is cardboard and the construction of the sticks is on par for the price point. I think anyone who has left a negative review isn't taken that into consideration. You're getting an excellent smoke for an amazing price. I hand these out like candy and everyone loves them. They have a pretty consistent flavor throughout, and the sweetness on the lips is always a favorite. I'm a huge Drew Estate fan and due to the affordability of these as an everyday smoke, I've been restocking my humidor with these rather than the Kuba Kuba's, highly recommended!

Such a good cigar
Such a good cigar. Arrived to my door in two days, all fresh and ready to go... thanks CI. If you enjoy a great favored cigar from time to time, than this is your cigar. The cap is sweet, the aroma is like no other and the draw is easy. The coffee, moca, chocolate taste at the beginning is strong and enjoyable, but by the second third this beauty settles in to a nice smoke with just a little flavor popping in every now and then. Highly recommended.

Absolutely love 'em! Although I
Absolutely love 'em! Although I don't smoke a lot of flavored cigars, these are great. They maintain their sweet flavor until the last draw and you still feel like you're smoking a cigar rather than eating a piece of candy. They hold their ash really well too - a well constructed cigar.

Well balanced, tasty, easy draw start to finish
Although I mostly like non infused cigars, this was well worth the buy and the price is very fair. This is a well balanced easy draw cigar that has a nice coffee flavor with vanilla hints from start to finish. This is my second favorite infused cigar to the kuba kuba!! Thank CI

This cigar is my key to freedom. I have a 2 1/2 acre yard to mow. I mow my yard late in the day. I light up while the mower warms up and then the next two hours are mine. With my cigar and my ear plugs in I'm in heaven

I found them to be
I found them to be very loosely rolled. Burn was uneven. Taste was good. For a Drew Estate I'm disappointed. Could be I just got a bad batch, after all the thousands of cigars made by Drew Estate they're bound to have a few that are poor quality. I would try them again, they were good cigar overall

Sweet times around the campfire
While not a big fan of infused cigars, I have to rate this very high, because it is my daughter's favorite cigar. When she comes home to visit, we sit by the fire and enjoy the sweet coffee notes and mellow tobacco of the Isla del Sol. The flavor will always remind me of these times. A great beginner's cigar or for when you want something sweet and mellow. Also, the gran corona produces lots of smoke, which adds to the fun.

Quality smoke at a nice price
It's a good cigar that you will love or not, but most people love them, I know do. A nice easy draw with a mild flavor that pairs well with a stout beer or your favorite crisp cocktail. Bottom line, the price is right for a top quality stick.

Good flavor
The flavor is good ; coffee infused;but the cigar could be wrapped a little tighter? I liked them but they were a bit mushy at times; but like most Drew estates, the flavor was strong through out ; and the price decent. I think The El Major expression might have the edge on this one?

Not too perfumey
Drew Estates does a great job balancing the Acid line of flavored with a more traditional smoke.

Sweet and tasty but retains the class!
I'm always a little embarrassed to admit i like the sweeter cigars...maybe I just see them as too akin to the ol' Swisher Sweets I saw sticking out of my uncle's unkempt shirt pocket at family gatherings. Still, it's all about flavor. Isla del Sol is like taking a sip of brandy or a good whiskey with each toke. No local cigar shops carry them, so I'm grateful for cigarsinternational.com!

I will say I'm not a cigar snob by any means of the word but the isla del sol is the smoothest smoke I've had. Burns well with a great flavor. The sweetened tip is a good bonus if your into that. Will definitely be purchasing these for as. Long as they produce them.

A cigar with just the right amount of flavor
I prefer a cigar with 'some' flavor infusion. Too much flavor sometimes takes away from the cigar itself. Being reasonable priced doesn't hurt either!

Pretty sweet (no pun intended)
Being a newcomer to the cigar world and so many to choose from, I chose an infused sampler pack along with being a coffee lover I tried Isla del Sol and loved them. I will definitely purchase more in the future

Isla del Sol is my impress other cigar smokers cigar
I have been a die hard Isla del Sol cigar smoker for 5 years now and when I am celebrating an occasion or I want to impress my friends I hand them an Isla del Sol cigar. They are always shocked at how great they are and how evenly they smoke down to the label.

Smooth- smoke, but "too fat" cigar , but I`ll keep looking for right fit.
Most cigars I`ve tried are too FAT for my tastes. I keep looking in your mag. soon I`ll choose a 5X 38" or less and a "full- medium" flavor."

Breakfast cigar
I have been smoking Isla del Sol for about 2 years, I call it my breakfast cigar due to the sweet coffee flavor. It's great with coffee or a Bloody Mary.

Isla del Sol, a consistent mellow choice
I have been smoking the Isla del Sol by Drew Estate for 2 or 3 years. Drew Estate was recommended to me by one of my "high roller" friends. The Isla del Sol is a great choice that is a bit cheaper alternative for this Not-so-High Roller. CI always comes through on a quick delivery. Happy 2016

Good cigars
The Isla del Sol line is a reasonably priced good cigar. I keep the Grand Corona and the Toro on hand at all times.

Great smoke all around.
Good flavor and not too strong. Great draw. A must smoke once for every cigar enthusiast. In my top 10 everyday smoke list.

Great cigars!
Get the cigars I like, for a lot less than the local brick and motar cigar shops. Well worth the wait for delivery and even that isn't bad. A very happy repeat customer.

Affordable alternative to Java
These cigars are a nice alternative to Drew Estate's Java cigars, which is weird considering these are also Drew Estate cigars. They are pleasant with a hint of coffee flavor and put out smoke that passersby often find far more pleasant to smell than regular cigar smoke.

A sweet smoke!
Isla del Sol was my first introduction to a little "higher end" cigar. There's a lot of sentimental value, as memories of my uncle and I smoking together after my mom's funeral; however, the smooth, mellow sweetness has me hooked. Highly recommended for those who want a cigar several notches above a dime store sweet.

The good & the bad
I have ordered numerous boxes of Isla Del Sol from Drew Estate Robusto. But latley the quality has taken on a down turn. There seems to be more and more of them that burn a hole down the center and renders the cigar usless and extremely HOT.

A VERY pleasant surprise and a GREAT bargain.
A SUPERB smoke from Drew Estate. I bought a box of Gran Corona because the price was nice, and the smaller stick is good for outdoor smoking when the weather gets cold (and you don't want to stay outside for an hour+). All my buddies tried these -- and for half the price of a Tabak Especiale Café con Leche, it is a BARGAIN. It doesn't have the creaminess of the Café con Leche, but it DOES have the sweetness and the coffee taste. And it is CONSISTENT and does not bite. I couldn't be more pleased. This one was a fan favorite in my circle!

Not for me ...I don't like chocolate mocha
A friend gave me one . I have had flavored cigars before and I did not like this cigar. Tasted and smelled like a chocolate mocha coffee , with the tip dipped in saccharine .Wow , I put it out after 5 minutes , I really tried but it was not for me. I fired up a Victor Sinclair and was happy.

Great Customer Service
I had recently purchased some Isla del Sol from CI. Within 24 hours the same cigars went on sale. I sent an e-mail to Customer Service explaining what had happened and how I thought it was unfair. Not expecting any recourse, I didn't think anything more of it. Within 24 hours CI had credited my account the difference in sale price and purchase price. Needless to say I was very surprised to see a company go to that measure. They could have easily said "Oops!" and let it go at that.

As for as i'm concerned these are the best cigars on the market today. I love the taste, and most of them burn strait, and last awhile as long as your not smoking it with almost every breath you take like I do sometimes while fishing.

Isla del Sol
I’m new to smoking cigars so I try to stay with the mild to medium cigars. I’ve been looking for an aromatic cigar and have been trying several different types of infused cigars. I tried the Isla del Sol and was very pleased with the flavor and the smoke aroma. It was a thick smoke, a light draw and burned well to the end. It wasn’t a tight wrapped cigar but it still held together well. A good smoke all the way to the end. It didn’t get stronger at the end like most cigars. I will definitely by more of these. They go really well with coffee, hot or iced.

Isla del Sol good for the price
I tried this Drew Estate product based on other peoples reviews. It wasn't bad for the price. Loosely packed but generally a good smoke. I still prefer the Root over this. Going for the Liga 9 next though..

Isla del Sol
My primary cigar is the Perdomo 2008 series. I have this when I 'm enjoying my Maker's 46 on the back deck at the end of the day. The Isla del Sol is for the middle of the day for when I'm mowing my yard (2acers) or working on our flowers

Been a customer for several years and placed numerous orders.....cigars are usually fresh and tasty, only once did I have something less than expected.

Great Flavor .... But very loose cigar construction
This cigar provides fabulous flavor, but I hope you don't mind a lot of loose tobacco in your teeth. Of the coffee infused cigars I love the flavor of Isal del Sol the best, but the construction is very weak. This is a great morning cigar! I love the slightly sweet wrapper. I normally order the robusto as it is easier to smoke due to the smaller size and not being as loosely made. 5 stars for flavor and 2 stars for construction.

A Great Smoke at a Great Price!
I've been smoking Drew Estate's Isla Del Sol for quite awhile and estimate I've had about 200 of them and that is what I base this review. The overall CONSTRUCTION has been impeccable on every one I've had. The DRAW is consistently excellent. Each have produced an ABUNDANT AMOUNT OF CREAMY WHITE SMOKE. They burn CONSISTENTLY EVEN. I would classify them as a MILD cigar. The wrapper has added SWEETNESS to it that I enjoy SOMETIMES. There are times that I enjoy a more full-bodied smoke such as after steak dinner or with a glass of Scotch. I sometimes, jokingly, refer to these as my "Breakfast Cigar" as I enjoy them with a cup of good coffee. Excellent quality for the price. I HIGHLY recommend them!

these are an excellent smoke. Very smooth and rich and creamy with a nice sweetness to start. I would compare these to even the higher end drew estate. Give them a try
Customer Testimonials
A friend of mine suggested this cigar, and I must say I absolutely love it. I usually don't tend to write many reviews but I just felt obligated to write on on this cigar. The Isla Del Sol is a fantastic stick!
Discovered this one at a little cigar shop while on vacation in Savannah, GA. Love at first taste! Drew Estate has yet to disappoint me (not saying I want him to!). If you enjoy mild-medium with a smooth & creamy coffee taste, then this one's for you. Best with coffee in the morning or evening after dinner. Besides, how can you resist the price...even the Churchill is beyond reasonable!
Very good! Better than the more expensive flavored cigars.
Very fine smoke!
Scored a box for $50 and if I see that deal again, I'm grabbing another. They are worth it. I like what Drew Estate is doing and this version seems to be one that isn't in the mainline of all the others (ACID, Tabak, Natural, etc.), but it holds its own - I can't believe it isn't in the same category as the aforementioned lines. It is great with a cup of coffee in the morning, any day, every day. The flavors are all there and as long as it doesn't get too much moisture in the humi, it stands heads and shoulders with its more expensive cousins. Enjoy!
I have been wanting to try these for awhile, but did not want to commit to a whole box. I saw them at my local smoke shop and thought what the heck. Boy, was I surprised. I am burning my fingers as I write this !Burn and draw are perfect! I smoke full flavor 'gars most of the time, but do like to throw in a flavored cigar now and then. I tend to pick a Blondie or Java when out and about, but this is my next best 'gar. It starts sweet and then gets stronger with tobacco at the 1/2 way point. Drew Estate proves you can have your cake and eat it too! Good job!!
I found these very light, smooth, and enjoyable. Tips was semi-sweet and it had mild hints of coffee. I prefer these to the pricier Tabak Especial, however I have not tried the Java yet so I can't compare to that.
Good cigar, but a little too sweet for me. If your preference is a mild and sweet cigar, you can't go wrong with this one.
All I can say is wow! Amazing cigar, this is the one I've been looking for! I'll be buying at least 1 box a month. Thank you CI! Perfect flavor, perfect balance of coffee and sweet tabacco flavor. 10 out of 10 stars!
I hate, Hate! coffee, but god#%mn I love this cigar! My favorite.
I bought a 5 pack to see if I would like them. I had tried other Drew Estate cigars, but most are out of my price range and these are more affordable. I tried one the next day and I have to say I was impressed! These sticks were well constructed, the burn was even, and they exploded with flavor. If you like a flavor infused stick, try these; they are well worth it. I am ordering more of these. To sum it up in one word these sticks are AWESOME!
This is a very fine cigar. Well constructed, very even burn, lots of flavor, and looks the part in every way. I will keep this cigar in stock and would say it would be at the top of my favorites.
Great morning cigar. Good draw ,great taste!
Really good smoke if you like flavored cigars. Coffee, hint of chocolate. Sweet cap and finish. Smooth and creamy. A nice change of pace, but I like mine a little stronger.
Mr. Drew is a demi-god in many people's eyes. He certainly has a leg up on the competition when it comes to infused cigars. I enjoy many of his offerings whenever I can find a sale. Blondie, Cold Infusion Tea & even Isla del Sol. IdS is too sweet, too expensive for a mixed filler blend & the ash won't stay on longer than 1/2", but it does have an interesting coffee flavor, after the sugary tip stops dominating the flavor profile. That occurs about 1/3 of the way in. I prefer CAO Flavors, but they too are pricey. Almost by default, I find myself smoking one of Jonathon's sticks, whenever I burn an infused stogie. I am smoking a IdS toro as I write this review. I found it in the bottom of a 100 count humidor I was cleaning out, after about a year in storage. It burns quickly, due to it being a short filler option & lasts about 30 minutes.... Factor that into the price tag & IdS is even less of a value than it appears at 1st glance. I doubt those unfamiliar with infused tobaccos would like this blend & those with experience, will probably prefer many other offerings over the sickeningly sweet cap of IdS. But, as a change of pace or a vitola you won't mind handing out to your infused cigar mooching buddies, you could do worse & pay more.
I recently bought a 5 pack of the Isla Del Sol Corona to evaluate an infused flavor cigar. I am very pleased with this cigar. I enjoy the mellow, sweet taste of the cap and the easy draw and creamy volume of smoke. I like this cigar in the morning after breakfast. It is the perfect cigar to enjoy while walking my dog around town for 40 minutes or so. I will definitely buy more of these tasty treats.
I really really love Isla del Sol from DE. These are my favorite tasting cigars, but then all DE cigars are very very good. I can not say enough about these tasty beauties. You have to try one soon, CI has them at a great price.
Awesome. My favorite cigar.
Great cigars great value.
Wake up, pour a cup of coffee, and light this stick! Talk about a great way to start a morning. I've never really liked the flavor aspect of a cigar but man I can't get enough of this stick.
Was a nice cigar. Lots of smoke, characteristic of Drew Estate. Not one of their best but certainly an economical smoke. Wasn't packed too tight and I found drawing from the cigar rather tough. Maybe it was just me. Still a nice cigar nonetheless. Good flavors, as one would expect from D.E.
By far my favorite cigar on the market. So smooth and smells amazing! Will be ordering a box before my 5 pack is gone.
its a great cigar! Another great cigar from Drew Estate.
I have been waiting a long time to try some of these cigars. Waiting for a good price and a big enough personal inventory that this would be an occasional cigar and not a daily pick. Finally got a box on the twenty percent off sale, so I grabbed a box along with more boxes of my daily Victor Sinclair's and some really nice cigars from the Build you own sampler collection. I am a really big fan of Sumatran coffee, and I have to agree with the reviews about this being more of a loaded Starbuck's beverage. Very strong mocha flavor, which isn't a too bad of a thing, but to me it tends to cover over the tobacco flavors. Maybe they will settle down with more humidor time. If you are a fan of infused cigars, then this is a really good one. They burn well, easy draw with plenty of smoke, but for me I smoke them when I am enjoying some good dark roast coffee, unsweetened, as the two items compliment each other. Give one a try when you have a chance. It might be too sweet for you, but it's not a bad cigar, just different. Better yet if you can score some on a good CI bargain deal.
My favorite cigar. Great flavor, smooth and a great price!
Nice and sweet on the palate. Smooth smoke and pleasant aroma.... Not bad for the price.
Great cigar for mornings and gifts to friends. Not an everyday smoke if you're an everyday smoker.
I never thought I'd be a flavored cigar guy, and after trying several, I was CONVINCED. In a weak moment, I tried one of these and I LOVE them! Mild to medium strength but tons of flavor. Great after dinner!
My absolute favorite daily cigar. If you are new to smoking cigars you must try these!
Damn good cigars for the price! Sweet, flavored & great price! Its a mild flavored cigar & almost as good as Drew's other Natural Dirt. Can't go wrong with Drew Estate!!!
And the winner is. Smooth and Delicious yes DELICIOUS
After reading all the reviews about this cigar I made my first venture into the Drew line of cigars. I have to say that this was enjoyable with a cup of coffee this morning. Yes the beginning is very sweet but half way through it stabilized and finished perfectly. I have purchased the box and if they all burn as perfect as this one I will not hesitate to purchase another. Later on today I will enter the world of another Drew product "copper label" looking forward to that one. I will be handing them out to all my friends.
A nice smooth tasting cigar for half the price of a Java. Coffee taste is really nice.I was at a cookout and people who don't smoke were asking me "What is that your smoking ? It smells real good!"
Too sweet for me.
Man these are great. Sweet flavor throughout the whole smoke. Overall great casual stogie
Drew Estate made yet another tasty treat. The flavor and smell are so good, they almost make you wanna eat it....but don't. They will leave you with burnt fingers trying to get as much as you can out of the little nub. The only problem I can see, is that I ordered the 5 pack first, just to give them a try. If these sound good to you at all, don't do what I did. Just grab a box. I promise you will see what I mean.
What a pleasant smoke!!! Really tasty and smooth 45 minute to One hour respite from reality!!!!!
Great cigar for a change of pace. Nice coffee flavor and I like the sweetened tip except that it was almost too sweet until it wore off. Also has a great room note, almost reminded me of the smell of pipe tobacco. Great smoke for an occasional change from the norm. Will buy again.
I cannot add anything positive that hasn't already been said, so I'll just say this is in the top two of my smoking rotation. The other is KUBA KUBA love em!!!!!!
Great price and not to mention a delicious cigar. I prefer these as a breakfast or dessert smoke. This is a regular in my humidor. Come to think of it, I got a second humidor specifically for them ;)
Good smokes. Not to sweet on the infused side, and not to bland either. The perfect blend of creamy smoke with a mild sweet flavor when you lick your lips. This cigar is great when you want something between an Acid brand and a Cohiba. Very smooth and mellow smoke, with an easy draw, while still maintaining a full body of robust flavor, and hints of chocolatey nutty goodness. Isla Del Sols burn even and hold on to a long white ash. Perfect price for a tasty Smoke treat.
I've been smoking for less than a year, trying samplers and checking customer reviews. This smoke is by far the best I've had and all the reviews show it's on the top of every ones list. Thanks C.I.
After only a few months of testing a plethora of cigars, I have found myself coming back to this ISLA DEL SOL. It has become my daily smoke, 3 to 4 a day... Great taste, my wife loves the aroma, big strong puffs of smoke, and SO AFFORDABLE!! Thanks CIGARS INTERNATIONAL!
Smooth and mild. Very enjoyable cigar.
Again Drew Estates has exceeded my expectations with the Isla Del Sol. This is a great everyday smoke. Medium to mild and with a little sweetness, this is a great buy and great smoke. Thank you, Drew Estate
Great after dinner smoke. Everyone thats tries one loves em.
I was given this cigar about two years ago on a fishing trip up north to try with a friend's dad and boy, did I enjoy it!! It has a sweet, but bold taste to it that keeps you wanting more and more.. I definitely recommend this to anyone just starting out smoking cigars...The ash keeps firm and you can smoke to almost 1 1/2 inches or so before you need to gently flick it off. All in all, a great smoke and one of few I keep in my small rotation as I'm the occasional cigar smoker, but only want to smoke the best, but won't blow my bank account..Great cigar!!!
Another great smoke from Drew Estate
A little sweet for my taste, but these are good from time to time just to change it up.
....Usually I would put these babies in the humi for a week or so before firing one up, but with this stick, I could not help myself.... The only thing I can say about this stick is WOW!!! Nice and creamy, with a slight coffee flavor in the beginning, but the coffee flavor really comes out towards the end, and the sweet cap was nice, too. This cigar was everything I was hoping it would be and more and dare I say it.......this stick may be my cheap alternative to the Tabak Especial. I will be buying a box soon. Jump on this deal cause you can't beat this with a baseball bat....Thanks CI, yet another satisfied customer.
Sweet tip with an easy draw, a mild cigar, but full of flavor; great cigar to have over a cup of coffee in the morning.
Love the Drew sticks - Kubas, Red Eyes, and now the Isla del Sol. To be more precise, I love the flavor and the aroma, but not the Swisher sweetness...
Loved it!
stupendous, phenomenal, exquisite. What else can I say about this cigar!! I have been a cigar aficionado for over 30 years. I have smoked $1 cigars, and $400 cigars. For an infused cigar as an every day cigar, even better if you are a golfer; you will surely enjoy this cigar from start to finish. Burns very well, smooth draw, ash is nice shadow of gray & consistent. Enough said. Buy it, you will love it.
Ahhhh Drew Estate makes fine cigars in my opinion but Isla del Sol are among the top dogs cigar. Great taste all the way down.
I've never had a coffee infused cigar and bought a sampler of these. Completely blew me away so I ordered a box of the Gran Coronas. Love these. Definitely worth the money.
Great smoke, nice coffee smell with mild coffee taste. Great to be on patio with nice sunrise, cup of coffee and an Isle del Sol!! Enjoy the day.
I have bought several boxes of the IDS by Drew Estates and I have to say that I enjoy this cigar a lot. I have had the other coffee infused cigars from Drew but his one really suits my tastes. The draw is always great and after you get past the sweetened cap, it is really good. I mean for the price, there is nothing out there with the taste and aroma that expells from this cigar. For me, this is a great cigar to smoke when around non smokers. They often ask `does it taste as good as it smells`?. (Like a cup of hot coffee mocha). I would suggest this to anyone that likes coffee infused. Smoke on my friends!
On the plus side, I must say that you can smoke this one until your mustache catches fire and the flavor will not change. Unfortunately, it is the same flavor I got from the last inch of a CAO LX2 if I had smoked it while drinking Diet Pepsi. I really wanted to like this cigar. I love coffee and the thought of a coffee-infused cigar was irresistable. I tried a Java by Drew Estates. Both are spongy cigars--maybe that is why they smoke so hot. Both are coffee infused, which smells better than it smokes. Both are sweetened, but this one is overdone. I shudder to think of those Drew Estates cigars infused with potpourri! Again, on the plus side, I have purchased many cigars from CI, and their product descriptions are spot-on. So I can only deduce that it is my sense of taste that is to fault. So I will give Drew Estates one more chance--I want to try the Naturals.
May I quote a Seinfeld episode "The BEST Jerry, the BEST." That is all you have to know....
I think Gonz's staff review is pretty much on the money. A not-for-everyone sweetness while the stick leans more toward mild. A hint of coffee bean is present and works well on the palette, without being harsh...very enjoyable cigar and the price is right!
Wanting to expand my cigar experience, I broke down and purchased a flavor brand. The one I chose was the Isla del Sol, based upon all the good reviews. Having purchased a 5 pack, I allowed them rest a short while in my humidor. The cigars were as described...For those who enjoy this type of cigar (flavor), I can't see why you wouldn't like this one. There is one more brand I'm going to try called the Java, in the flavor category. Unless that one changes my mind, I will stick with the traditional non flavor cigars...
These are one of my Favorites. I always have them in my humidor. I don't always smoke them, but when I just want to sit out back by the firepit and enjoy a cigar and drink. This cigar is my choice. Just recieved my 3 boxes of them.
This cigar is a fantastic smoke as you wait for that thick burger to grill while sitting on your deck with your favorite cold tasty beverage.
Excellent cigar ! This is a personal favorite, good draw, good construction ,fabulous taste. What I turn to when I want to kick back and enjoy a pleasant hour. Amazing value in an outstanding product. Just super in every aspect !
I chose the Isla Del Sol as my intro into the world of cigars based on all of the glowing reviews across the web. At 29 now, I have smoked only about 3 cigars in my life, the last one before this undoubtedly having been a Macanudo, because that's what my dad smokes. I personally do not like whichever kind of Macanudo he prefers, I found it too strong and bitter. I actually went out and searched for 'sweet cigars' and after some research, the consensus was that I should try this cigar. I like it. A lot. My mom enjoys the aroma also. I love walking into the room and it smells of this cigar. I got my 5 pack 10 days ago and have smoked about half per day, having just started on my last one. I decided to stick with Drew Estate's infused cigars, and just ordered a tin of 10 Tabak Especials for my next couple of weeks of smoking. Until the tin gets here, I think I'll go to the cigar shop and try a 5 Vegas Gold if they have one.
Being a mild cigar smoker I often enjoy flavored or infused cigars as well. I have tried many(some good and some bad) and recently picked up one of these at a local shop. It was an awesome smoke. Now that I know how good they are(expected nothing less from Drew Estate) I can get some to keep on hand. From the prelight aroma to the sweetness on the lips and right down to the last draw they are a great cigar.
I'm still new to cigars and so far Drew Estates is my favourite brand. I love the acid line, the natural, and now Isla del Sol. This is a great cigar for the price. It's not as sweet as most claim the sweetened cap does not last long. This cigar transitions three times during the hour plus burn time. Your taste buds will never get bored. I will be buying more and this is a great cigar to relax with after a hard days work.
This is the best value stick I've ever come across if you enjoy mild/sweet sticks. Drew Estae has a winner here.
Love this stick. But i can understand how it wont be everyones cup of tea. I am a newbie to the cigar world and this was a great introduction for me, sweet with hints of coffee, just a great medium bodied smoke. So if your new just say what the heck and give them a try. They have a permanent residence in my humi.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! This is a good cigar but just too sweet. I began enjoying it more at the halfway point when the sweetness died out. I don't think I'd buy a box but I would probably pick up a 5 pack.
Permanent spot in my humidors. I smoke cigars everywhere i go and many times people complain of the smell(no taste). These however attract a crowd everywhere. Especially the ladies. It has such a incredible taste and aroma. The slight bit of coffee hangs in the air and draws people in. The sweetened cap i could do without but its mild and goes away soon however for most people it will probibly be a bonus. In short a awesome cigar! Order this one. You wont be disappointed!
These are my favoite smokes. Half the price of the "Over rated " Java and just as good. If you like a mild Cigar with hints of Coffee give it a try you will be suprised at how good they are. A traditional Cigar lover might not like them.I am a big fan of Dew Estate products.
While my last fan mail on this made me seem like an illiterate I will throw another bone about this stick, it gets a million times better with age in a well seasoned humi.
IDS is a great cigar they do burn a little uneven but I prefer them to Java
FANTASTIC!
Recently picked up two 5 packs, one each of IDS and a Java for comparison. Both were generally well constructed, though loose, but tasty. I let let sit in the humi for about 10 days before I couldnt take it anymore. I really wanted to like the Java more but cant say I was very impressed, especially with all the rave reviews it gets. I have not tried the Natural line yet but I can tell you that for the price you cannot go wrong with the IDS.
Isla del Sol has all of the flavor of my sweet cup of coffee premixed with the natural sweetness of the tobacco (just a little milder than my pipe tobacco), and it is convenient...no packing a pipe or brewing coffee...it's all right there. So for a person like me, a cigar like this (and at this price) is a great find.
Drew Estate stick are too damn expensive, but oh man this one is perfect pricing for an exceptionally tasty cigar. The scent is a mix between pool hall and caffee shop hauts of my youth. Daddy likes!
Isla-Del-Sol The very smoothest smoke a cigar lover could ever want...
A friend bought a box of these and gave me a few to try. I have smoked one and the others remain in my humidor as I have no intention of smoking another one. To each his own, but as for me this cigar is too sweet. If you like smoking sugar cane, then this cigar is for you. I didn't get the taste of coffee that was expected; maybe because there was too much sugar in it...
I got my case of these yesterday morning and after opening the box the smell of coffee made me think of my little coffee shop. I had these sitting in my humi for a few hours and had to have one. Granted it was below O but it was worth it. The sweet cap combined with the coffee and coco flavors make this cigar tasteful but not to the point where it loses the feeling of a good cigar. Very well done.
First let me say this is a well constructed cigar. Very even burn, easy draw and strong ash. I expect nothing less from Drew Estate. Let me also say if you are a fan of strong, full bodied cigars this is probably not a cigar for you. This is a very mild tasting cigar as it really should be to allow the infused flavors to come through. On the first few draws this is a very sweet cigar (more so than a swisher sweet). This quickly fades and what follows is a coffee flavored mild taste that is really quite pleasant. This is a great after dinner smoke and would go great with a cup of coffee. Overall, I was impressed and would not hesitate to order more. I recommend it to fans of mild to medium bodied cigars.
Picked one of these up in the CI store last night based on reviews that I had read online. A lot of people had compared them to the Java, which is one of my favorites, so I thought this would be a sure thing, as Drew Estate rarely dissapoints. I have to say though, this really wasn't doing it for me. I expected some sweetness, but holy wow. It's like they dipped the end of this thing in in coffee syrup. Even though it does die down about a half inch into the cigar it just set me off to a bad start. I'll also note that the label at the end of the cigar was glued completely around and although I tried to be gentle with it, it just massacred the wrapper. I hate to feel like im bashing this cigar, I really wanted to like it. I loved the smell all throughout... but the taste just wasn't there, and I cant forgive the sub par construction/labeling. If they made an Isla del sol candle I'd buy it... but I don't think I'll be smoking another one any time soon.
I "bought" the advertising and bought a box of Isla del Sol. Horrible. Should be sold in Walgreens and CVS next to Swisher Sweets. How can this be called a cigar? (He said in a fit of humility.)
I want the address to Drew Estates so I can tell my lawyer. This was the most addictive smoke I have ever tried. (Exhibit 1) 4 box order. It is slightly sweet when you first try but as this stick burns it becomes more palatable. The smoke itself is addictive and fills the room. Drew Estates i will settle for a years supply. Great Job awesome Smoke.
Simply the best flavored cigar out there. I've tried alot of flavored cigars and I would take this over all the rest including the entire acid line. Perfect construction, draw, and even burn in every one. The incredible price seals the deal. Give it a try, you won't regret it.
Wow! What a smoke! This is my new favorite. I cant believe the price on these beauties--are you kidding me? If you like a flavored cigar, don't let this one pass by without trying.
Any cigar that can get my wife to light up with me is alright in my book. These are her favorite cigars. Truth be told, I like the Isla del Sol too.
The perfect dessert (Isla del Sol by Drew Estate)!!! A perfect summer night includes a steak dinner with a good beer, followed up by an Isla Del Sol cigar.
This is the first time I ever tried a flavored cigar. Truth be told, the tip is sickeningly sweet (I drink a lot of espresso), but about after the first inch of the cigar, and the sweetness wears away, I'm hooked. Its damn near addicting treat.
This is one of my favorite Cigars (Isla del Sol by Drew Estate).Great taste, smooth burn.Very good smoke!
A friend of mine suggested the (Isla Del Sol) to me and I love them. In fact, I am about to order my 3rd box and I dont usually by boxes. This stick is smooth from start to finish, tastes great and smells so sweet that non-smokers seldom complain about it. For the money, there is no better cigar I have ever had to include the Java.
Holy c , was I surprised when I lit this cigar (Isla del Sol by Drew Estate) . After the snip and upon tasting the cigar even before lighting, I knew I was in for a treat. The sugary tip, thought sweet at first, mellows out quite well and adds just a hint of sweetness to this already flavorful cigar. Upon lighting the ciagr, it doesn't give off the normal pre-light smell that most cigars have (even the flavored ones) and tasted almost like I was smoking a good mocha chocolate latte. Stayed smooth all the way down, never becoming bitter or losing its taste. Definitely a recommend here if you want something not only out of the ordinary, but smooth as well.
These cigars are great (Isla del Sol by Drew Estate)! I first got some in a shop in South Carolina and I fell in love. I have smoked cigars much more expensive then these, but I will always enjoy these cigars more. Sweet and mellow with a little hint of mocha, very easy and almost addicting smoke!
When I saw the low price on this one (Isla del Sol by Drew Estate) I was very skeptical but I bought this cigar simply trusting the Drew Estate name. They have yet to let me down and this cigar is no exception. Once I lit it up I was surprised by the delicious light mocha flavor, the even draw and the consistent burn. I ran right out and bought several more. If you are like me and enjoy the taste of mocha in a mild cigar then this one is for you.
I Love this Cigar(Isla del Sol by Drew Estate)! Coffee (like chocolate) has a natural compliment to cigars so why not blend these flavors? Well this cigar works very well with this balance of the mild-medium tobaccos and it's sweet tip, and flavors mixing well together. And just because it's inexpensive does not mean that Drew Estate cheaps out with loose crappy construction. You get fully packed well constructed cigars that is a pleasure to smoke like a cigar should be.
Well im fairly new to the cigar scene but i must say i really enjoy the Isla del Sol by Drew Estate. i would love to get a few suggestions from other people on what else is really good. all information would be greatly appreciated.
I have always been a fan of Drew Estate products.Isla del Sol by Drew Estate These cigars are awesome in flavor. Definetly a cheaper alternative to the Java. I have smoke several now, and the flavor is consistent, but a couple burned a little un even. All in all though for the price they are a great cigar!
Gotta say I've never been a fan of flavored cigars.....until I Smoked one of these bad boys and DAMN was it good:) Went to CI to check the price and was floored at what they are giving them away for. So I bought me a box of church hills. This is easily the best deal I've come across for these.
I was a big fan/smoker of the "Kahlua" cigars. But, when they were discontinued, I had to find a replacement. Thanks to Drew Estate's "Isla Del Sol" I have found it. A great smooth taste with a sweet coffee flavor. Nothing as good as the "Kahlua", but pretty damn close. I highly recommend, if you enjoy flavored cigars. Once again, Drew Estate has come through. Thanks!
I absolutely love the JAVA and thought this may be comparable. Isla del Sol by Drew Estate is a much more sweet smoke. still good but does not hold a candle to the Java, I guess I just like a little more Tobacco flavor to my cigars
I have enjoyed every Drew Estate cigar I have tried. From the Acid line, Nasty is my favorite. To the Natural line, Clean Robusto is it. I enjoy the Kahlua and the Java. But when I tried the Isla del Sol I found my every day, chain smoke cigar. Well made, consistent and excellent power packed flavor! You can smoke 10 a day and still have money in your pocket! Thanks Drew Estate and thank you CI !
i have to admit , ive snuck a cap lick every now and then, this is probably the best deal at ci,(Isla Del Sol) this cigar actually could take the place of that after dinner desert.no mystery here ,its a mocha choco whipped cream delight. double sugar dipped cap,but as gonzo says ,after the cap wheres off, a true tobacco taste shines through.i love to start the day with this , a little black coffee, a piece of choclate cream pie. and isla del sol.
I am not a flavored smoke person, but bought these as part of a CI one day deal. (Isla del Sol) They were great and for the price you can't beat it. It burned even and cool. It was well constructed and good Drew Estate Alternative to the JAVA. The Java is more natural tasting and the Isla is a lot sweeter, but still a winner. I smoke them with Coffee that has coffee flavored rum, yummy. They are worth a try.
Was offered this as a knockoff to the Drew Estate Java. It is a very nice smoke. Burns even, good draw and great sweet taste all the way to the end. I was stuck on the Natural Clean Robustos by Drew Estate, but I am thinking with the lower price of these I will be sticking with a Isla Del Sol's instead. Try one, very very good choice...
I was gifted this cigar by a friend in the business and fell in love with them. With Java cigars hard to find even from CI occasionally, the Isla del Sol is like a Java very lite, or even a Java Latte lite. Very nice for an after dinner smoke, and even better with a cup of coffee.
Those 3 dollar a gallon gas prices got you down? Relax with an Isla del Sol. An economical alternative to the Java. Another winner from Drew Estate - the undisputed king of flavored cigars!
I am the "Queen" of flavored cigars. I highly recommend this gem (Isla del Sol by Drew Estate). Very tasty, even burn, and awesome on the draw; not to mention, a reasonable price. I was very impressed!
