In 2022, Crowned Heads collaborated with the famous NACSA factory of Nicaragua for the first time, known for making cigars for many esteemed cigar manufacturers. When the founders of Crowned Heads traveled to NACSA, they gifted Gustavo Cura of Oliva a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label, a favorite of his and many others in the industry. The Azul y Oro borrows the namesake colors of Johnny Walker Blue for its unique bands.
Using an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper leaf atop a Nicaraguan Jalapa binder and fillers from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, the Azul y Oro is a quintessential Crowned Heads blend. Medium-bodied, complex down to the nub, and smooth as can be. Notes of earth, toastiness, and cocoa sweetness form an incredibly enjoyable profile, and one that won’t stick around forever.
