Ok cigar; not very complex. It's a little to strong for my taste. I can't taste any hints of anything because of how stout.
Best cigar I ever smoked! This one will put hair on your chest. Pretty strong, complex, incredibly flavourable! This is the cigar that will make you realize that 98% of other cigars are sub par. This is a long smoke, even a robusto lasts 2 hrs+. Simply amazing!
Received this as part of a CI sampler, and it is delicious. Tight draw, but not overpowering. Even burn, and pretty nice ash. I let this set in my humidor for only about three or four weeks, and I may have been jumping the gun, but I couldn't wait to get to it. Since the list price of a box is worth two car payments, I probably won't be ordering a box, but I am definitely putting this on my search list. Enjoying this with my morning coffee and a summer Michigan sunrise. Life is good.
I got 5 of these in a sampler. I smoked my first one a day or two after they came. Really wasn't into it at all. Flaky ash, uneven burn and smoke was very harsh. After about a week sleeping in the humi I pulled out another one. What a BIG difference a week in the humi made. Great and enjoyable friggin smoke!! Good ash great flavor. Very tight draw though but thats ok. I'd probably buy a box of these babies.
Very easy to light. Below average construction and draw with average burn. Overly dense pack and tight draw but heavy smoke output that is thick and oily on the palate. Several touchups were needed. Medium strength and full flavors. Cold draw of sweet dark chocolate with addition of sweet black pepper and caramel upon lighting. A very aromatic cigar of deep, sweet spices. Medium length finish of sweet tobacco and coffee. The poor construction of this cigar had a negative overall impact on what is a very nice blend and could be a very nice smoking experience.
Smoked my first one last night. All I can say is spice spice spice with some choco/cofee. Initially the spice goes from the tip of your tongue to the back of your throat. It all hits on the long long finish. The finish on this cigar can last well over a minute. I was very impressed by the deep rich flavors when you get into it. The only thing for me was I could only get half way into the cigar because of the buzz. It kicked my butt and then some. I put the cigar down before the half way point and had to go lay down. Did not get sick but was done down for the count. I smoked a robusto and i was not quite to the half way point at 1 hour. To me this is easily a 2 hour + cigar. For those of you who like strong buzzes and strong deep flavors this cigar will knock your socks off. For those of you who do not, stay far away from this cigar. =)
I was looking forward to this cigar being a COHIBA, what let down!! got it in a sampler and after smoking 3 I don't rate it at all, there are much better cigars to smoke than this one.
Wow, thank you CI for adding this to my Mother-load! I have no idea what most of these reviews are going on about. After letting this cigar sit in the humi I decided to give it a try with a big ol' glass of ice water (my fav). Smooth and consistent all the way thru. When I buy an expensive cigar I want something enjoyable not only for myself, but for whoever I share one with. I leave my complex cigars at home for my end of week smoke when I want to break down a cigar profile. This is a cigar you bring on a business trip or out on the golf course with the co-workers. Will be ordering a box very soon.
Not the stand-out I was looking for. It tastes like a Punch, and I like Punch; however, not with the price difference.
Not a fan. The first half of this cigar is tolerable. Rich and pungent, though not too complex. Sorry, but IMO the second half is not good. With the first one I thought it was because I let the cigar go out a few times, but I just smoked one all the way through.
My second Cohibsa Puro Dominica. Not So hot. Pricey but just average. Dry. but well constructed. Obviously full bodied, but not great flavor. So many others are better at lower prices. I think Cohiba is resting on the brand. Red dot much better.
As most of the reviews state this cigar is more medium bodied as opposed to a full body stick. So far all of these sticks that I have smoked have all had over a year on them with the exception of one. The one that had not rested long was very one dimensional, but I tell you these sticks are great with age much like an OPUS X. I would agree that the box price is steep but when these are in samplers and the price is right they are worth it.
Just wanted to add, the Robusto (5.5" x 50) smoked for about 2 1/2 hours.
Nice cigar but kinda uneventful. Although it's listed as full I didn't think it was that strong. Unlike some of the previous reviews, I didn't have any issues with the burn or the taste. Mine burned evenly and slowly. I too got one as part of a sampler. Again nice, but you can definitely get more bang for your buck with something else.
I got this cigar in a recent sampler order with several other great cigars. I was disappointed with this cigar and much prefer the standard "red dot" Cohiba robusto. This one had a slightly tighter draw than I like, the burn was uneven throughout, and it was much less smooth than I expected; it left an unexpected ashy taste in my mouth, which shouldn't be present in such a "high-end" offering. That being said, it's still better than most average cigars, but I would NEVER pay retail for this one. My only hope is that most that would come in a full box would be far superior to this example.
This cigar carries a retail price of upwards of $20. For that kind of money I'd expect a good cigar and this one is good. The downside is I absolutely could not keep the thing burning evenly which spoils the experience somewhat. Appearance and flavour? Both nice. But frankly, there are a lot of cigars for a lot less money that I enjoy more. I've often said that a cigar is either good or not good and price shouldn't come into the equation. I still believe that. This one was a Cigar of the Month Club selection and for that reason it was worth the money? Would I actually buy another one? In a word, no.
Best cigar I've ever smoked (Cohiba Puro Dominicana). Cohiba is known for quality and this thing is nothing less than a perfectly crafted cigar. It wasn't over bearing for that first inch and a half, in the mid section it got really mellow all the way back to the nub. I didn't want to put it down! I think I may have to order a box of the Robusto's...
Well constructed (Cohiba Puro Dominicana), with a dark brown wrapper. A more full bodied smoke than the cohiba flagship, but rather uneventful as far a taste goes; It starts off with a charcoal taste at first, then develops into a slightly sweet leather taste. A good cigar that's not worth the price tag in my book. I expected more from a Cohiba.
Good cigar but not the standout I thought it would be for a (Cohiba Puro Dominicana) . I was expecting something unique like an OpusX. No very complex. Pretty straight forward medium bodied smoke with warm spice. One dimensional.
