An easy bet to placeOriginally introduced in the cigar boom of the 1990's, Alcazar is a premium cigar blend like no other. Now, I'll be honest, when I glanced at this cigar at first, I thought it said "Alcatraz," and I was pretty confused as to why someone would want to buy a prison-themed cigar. Luckily, my eyesight is just awful, and these handmades are a relaunch of the famed Alcazar blend of cigars' past. Alcazar is actually named after a famous horse, and that's apparent because as soon as you light this meaty Maduro up its off to the races. While the strength here is in the solid medium-body range, the Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper is putting in a ton of overtime to bring you a bold, meaty chocolate and earth flavor. With Nicaraguan binder and long-fillers on the reigns as well, there's just enough spice and kick to this one to make it a satisfying partner to any glass of bourbon or scotch. I'll openly admit that I had never tried the original blend, but once I finished the samples of this one I started kicking myself for missing out on the original blend. Don't make the same mistake I did, grab a bundle of these thoroughbred performers.
