“I got this cigar cutter with a purchase and thought it was a good deal. It looks like a Xikar cutter and I was happy until I tried to use the Calcutta. I have to be honest! It may look like a Xikar but not the quality. The first time I tried to use it I actually hurt my fingers. The cutter didn't cut and even with pressure it didn't cut clean. The metal in the finger holes dug into my skin to the point that it hurt. I ended up using another cutter to make a clean cut. I was actually amazed that it could not cut a 44 ring gauge. I'm not a wimp and perplexed. Maybe it was a bad cutter? Try it at your own risk. I love the Xikar scissor tools and never had a problem. Stick to Xikar.”
“I got these scissors as an add on with something I ordered from CI. They're actually pretty nice, but they are a little cumbersome. The tools that come with them are handy, and I use them more than the actual cutter. Honestly, I get the best cut with a razor blade or sharp pocket knife, though I feel like I'm performing a circumcision whenever I do so. Kinda makes me cringe. Anyway, it's a decent tool to have in the cigar accessory drawer if you get them cheap or free.”
“It's true it doesn't cut very well but it is kinda cool looking though.”
“Great cutters for your cigars and the fact it closes and fits easily into your pocket makes this a value deal. For the price compared to Xikar this is a no brainer!”
“Got the black one. Folding mech was a bit tweeked and of moderate quality, but scissors were sharp and cut cleanly on a delicious Diesel from around 20 ring to around 40 ring over 3 cuts. No complaints there! For the price, performance and portability I can't see anyone being unhappy buying it!”
