Not a big fan, I thought they would be better.
I bought a 5 pack to try and after a couple of weeks of resting in my humi, I find that they are still a little green. Not much flavor as it should have, kinda harsh, and very erratic burn (frequent touch-ups/relights) But on the plus side a decent price, very well constructed. We'll see in a few months if they pan out...
Yes! Just returned from a week in Germany where I sampled many Cuban cigars. All legit, purchased from La Casa Del Habano in Hamburg. In taste and aroma the Guerra Habano corona reminds me very much of of the Cuban Partagas coronas I sampled. I'm very pleasantly surprised by the taste, quality, and price of this cigar. A winner for sure!
As a follow up to my last review: after four glasses of Basil Hayden it was much more tolerable. Still didn't make it to the nub and still didn't find it enjoyable. I gave these to three other people and they all reported back a smooth taste and good burn - so it's definitely me and my personal taste. based on that feedback, I would recommend these as a daily as a well constructed and handsome cigar. Much better than the $2 sticks that look and smoke like ^&%. However, I prefer the Torano Colosseum for an affordable daily smoke or a Kristoff Sumatra for a more expensive stick.
I like everything about this cigar but the flavor. It's probably just my personal taste, but after 1/3 of the way through this cigar, I can't stand it any longer. I find it harsh and unsatisfactory. If I suffer through to the nub, I almost feel sick to my stomach. Others have described it as 'mild' to 'medium'. For me, it seems strong and only gets harsher the hotter the cigar gets. I've smoked for many years and this is the first cigar I've purchased that I just can't stand to finish. But, it's a great looking cigar.
Just bought another box, hefty feel, mottled wrapper, satisfying flavor and the right price for an everyday cigar.
A perfect everyday cigar at a incredible price. A very impressive Cuban style and tasting cigar. I will always have on hand. Get while you can!
I don't know if I have a 'bad' box, but I wish it burns better. I have smoked 4 so far since I received it on 2/7/2014, but every single one of them went out at least 3 times, despite of frequent draws, and I had to relight them. The flavor is very good, and if the burning was a bit better, I would have love them a lot. Good price and good flavor, but not so much in the burning department. I thought about returning the rest, but I am 'hoping' that it will improve in my humidor. I am keeping my sticks at 68%. If the burning was good, I would definitely recommend this to anyone! Does anyone have similar experience?
This is rich tobacco taste without bitterness. The ten or so I've smoked burned perfectly. A nice cigar for the price.
Great construction, nice burn. Thats the end of the positives for this gar. Ive only been seriously smoking for a little over a year, and this is the first time I couldnt get through a cigar. Harsh, bitter, and brutal. I gave it to the halfway point and had no choice but to toss it. I have never done this with any cigar in the past. Ive had some good experiences with other Abe Flores cigars, but this one missed the mark by miles. I have one more, I will let it sit it the humi and revisit it in 6 months or so. But I am not looking forward to it.
I've been looking for that every day affordable cigar. I saw these, and they just looked good.So I got a couple 5 packs on a good CI deal. I'm not sorry. I broke the rules AGAIN, and smoked one as soon as I got them. Looked good, Nice construction, nice even burn, good ash. I was surprised at how well it started out. The flavor came out about a third of the way into it. Don't expect it to be a $5 or $8 or $10 cigar. But I have to say, if you want a good solid smoke for a buck and a half or so, then you can go with this smoke. I'm going to give the rest of them some time in the humi to see if they perk up a bit more. Don't be afraid, they won't disappoint, but they won't replace that top of the line smoke for that super enjoyable weekend. Give em a try.....you can afford it.
Had the Guerra double perfecto last night and enjoyed it very much. Good burn, draw and nice straight ahead mild to medium tobacco flavor.
Would recommend it, am looking forward to the next one. If it was this good straight off the truck (OTT), then I wonder what some time in the humidor will do to it.
I had it right after a fairly strong cigar, so they paired up nicely. For those who might be intimidated by the 6x60 dimensions, don't be. Since it's tapered at both ends, it really comes across as a smaller vitola.
