Sit down with a spicy Bloody Mary, an American Puro and a hankerin' for some Texas Bar B Q. and let this unique smoky blend wake up your taste buds. Then after dinner light up another with some premium aged Tennessee whisky and you've made your kinfolks proud!
Being a patriot, I had to try a five pack of an American puro, and I have to say, this was one helluva good cigar. Whether intentional or not, it was very Cubanesque, full body, even burn, and simply great flavors. Definitely buying again.
The fire cured leaf gives this cigar a unique smell and flavor. Construction is excellent, draw very good. I recommend this to folks looking for a different flavor. Also try the Sam Leccia Black Robusto, which liked the George Rico cigar uses fire cured leaf.
OK, since I just wrote a mini novel on another cigar, I'll keep it brief here. Smoked a couple of the corona gordo size, one of my preferred vitolas. Didn't really pick up a lot of the fire-cured....but these are quite good. In fact, found it to be a little harsh in the opening, but just for the first 5 minutes or so. After that, the cigar smoothed out quite a bit. A well-round, medium-bodied cigar to my tastes...I'd rate it either 89 or 90...think I need a couple more to decide....
I got this and an Eastern Standard for fathers day. I was super stoked about the Standard, it smelled so good the GR was a suggestion from the shop guy. I have to say this was not a miss. I was wary of this since it had Kentucky tobacco, I have been let down by cigars from Kentucky. But this cigar was fantastic. It had the flavors I expected from the Eastern Standard and did not get bitter. Simply put this cigar was awesome. God Bless America.
This is a nice stick. It's on my short list. Medium full, burns well, good body. It surprised me in a good way...
I had heard rumors of an all American tobacco made stick by George Rico, being a lover of Gran Habano, I had to try it. I was not disappointed! The American Puro is surprisingly tasty and smooth from the first light to the nub. I would highly recommend this cigar to anyone wanting to try something new and different. You will not be disappointed. Mid 90's at least.
Two thumbs up!!!
This is an amazing cigar. It is medium strength with mild pepper, earth, leather, creamy, with hints of molasses. The smoke is sweet and aromatic but nothing like an ACID cigar. There is nothing overpowering about this cigar. You would like this. Might be even better with some scotch or rum or cognac??? Wow, this cigar has a very mysterious or exotic aroma to it reminiscent of a whisky barrel or the inside of an English Pub. Only flaw that I have found so far is an uneven burn. You definitely need to try one of these! This one made my "top ten" list.
George Rico American Puro: It's really good. Medium or med-full with mild pepper, and plentiful earth and leather. It's creamy, with hints of molasses. The smoke is sweet and aromatic, but nothing like a Acid cigar. Reminiscent of mesquite , a whiskey barrel or the inside of an Irish pub. There is nothing overpowering about this cigar. You would like this. Might be even better with some scotch or rum or cognac??? Wow, this is one of the cigars that has a very mysterious or exotic aroma to it. Only flaw that I have found so far is an uneven burn. You definitely need to try one of these!
