“I bought the bundle of the Giants 1066 just as kind of a novelty cigar for my friends and I. But it turned out that they were actually really great smokes. None of us had a cutter large enough for the cigars, and after about 3 hours of puffing on one of these, you kinda get light headed. But it was a nice mild smoke all the way through.”
“Nobody seems to rate this cigar so i thought i would give it a little love. This cigar is no Cuban, Opus-X or Partagas 160, but for a great smoke without the $5-$10 price tag, this cigar is for you. The natural is in my opinion the better bet if you want to smoke them right out of the bundle. The maduro's need about six months of aging to make them taste right, but don't get me wrong, the maduro is still a great smoke. This cigar is one of my favorites that i can smoke or give to my buddies without sacrificing quality or price. I would recommend giving these cigars a try.”
“This is a good cigar, not too strong with plenty of flavor! Great cigar for the price.”
“This is a tasty number and well worth the $1.50 price. It is very well constructed and burns evenly. The cigars are mild-medium with sweet tobacco flavors, and as advertised without the bite. Pesonally, I prefer to use a punch on the Robusto naturals, rather than making a full cut. I'll certainly be buying more of these, and I can't wait to try the maduros. The Oliva Familiy just can't make a bad cigar...”
“Flor de Oliva bundles are my any day smoke. They are very consistent. After many bundles, I can honestly say I have had only a couple with difficult draw. The price is right, the blend is very good, and they are consistent. I like good flavor, but I don't like the top of my head blown-off with strength. A difficult draw is perplexing also. It seems many times the more expensive cigars are too bold, and have too tight of a draw. I hate paying $5 or more for a cigar I cannot get the smoke through.”
“i bought the giants 1066... great cigar...... i was wary at first because of the size... but the draw was nice and easy. And the taste was fantastic. hope they never stop making them...........”
“In just under 3 years I will estimate I have smokeed close to 400 of these cigars, and that's probably on the low side. I recently started ordering from a second source to compare. You see, in the last year the quality of these cigars have started to take a turn for the worst.
My last 4 orders have been full of plugged cigars, or loose cigars, or cracking cigars. In all fairness I have noticed the biggest quality issues with inspector numbers in the 20's. I too have noticed the change in flavors from bundle to bundle, some times not for the better. If you get a bundle from inspector #12 consider yourself lucky. You can't trust that will be a good bundle. Quality waining on this one. Not to mention the bundle shrinlage from 25 to 20 and the price increases from $27.00 to $34.95. $1.12 a stick to a $1.75 in under 2 years. I don't see the value anymore. If you don't mind fighting the quality issues they are still a fairly good daily cigar. although a little too pricey for what you get.”
“i had in the past bought a few bundles of these torp. LOVED them! regardless of the low price, BUT! recently received a new bundle that i had waited for 4 weeks to get, to find this bunch nowhere near the quality of past smokes. I dont know what changed but i was very disappointed.”
“GAAAH! Sweet tip! Splenda! It lasted all the way through the 60 minute churchill. Totally ruined the first one. I cut the next one a bit deeper and sucked it out like snake poison well before lighting...not so bad that way. Why would they distract from the experience by soaking the tip in a sweetener? A good cigar otherwise.”
“I bought the torpedo maduro at the local cigar shop. You can imagine what they charged me. any way,I lit it and got a nice hit of pepper wihich mellowed into flavorable classic nicarauguan taste. agood easy draw, even burn, and some nice spice all the way.Great Nicaragn aroma. I love nicarauguan smokes. almost tasted like a puro. After paying the price that I paid, I can tell you with certainy that CI's price would be hard to beat.”
“Started smoking the Churchills about a year ago and found that, for the price, they are always consistent in quality and smoke, firm to the end, and worth every cent. Then I started with the Gigantes and found the same even though they are longer. Recommend this for a smoke at a very reasonable price. No surprises.”
“Awesome smokes for a great price. Love the robusto naturals.”
“I bought a bundle an it wasn't all that. All you end up is wasting space in you're humidor. The price is right that's for sure. It's better to spend a little more so you're be satisfied than upset.”
“I drop the ball too early. I had forgot about them a few months. They sat in the humi for that period of time. Then I finally smoke one an I was impressed. I'm very sorry if anyone took me serious. I hope not anyway these very tasty, they burn just as good as any others. Their great for what you pay. You can't go wrong that's for sure. Their worth buying more than one bundle. When I get extra funds for sure I'll be buying a few bundles. Ps don't wait too long they might be on back order.”
“These aren't terrible--decent cigars for the price although the flavors are confused, likely because of mixed filler from the Oliva tables used within. Good for those who need to smoke or want to do so while focusing their attentions on other projects.”
“Hey fellow herfers, just got an 8-pak of the Flor De Oliva giants 10x66 a few days ago and smoked the 1st one tonight. This is a quality smoke, nothing gimmicky about it. Excellent draw mostly even burn that went slightly astray but corrected itself. That classic Oliva flavor came through, you know, that light salty, buttery, baked bread type of flavor, and light dashes of sweet pepper popped up every now and then. This was a solid 2 and 1/2 hours so make sure you have time. The smoke aroma was delicious as well. IMO this is not subpar by any means and the nub was even tasty(down to less than an inch)! This baby was just a whole lot of fun for not much money. Thanks as always,C.I.”
“The quality of these $30-40 per bundle of 20 cigars in overall construction and taste is the best overall value you'll going to find anywhere (except for the steep discount on clearance brands). I have tried the natural and maduro longfiller wrapped toro and torpedo sizes and you cannot go wrong, both have a medium strength that starts off with lighter tobacco smoke mixed with leathery/creamy flavors that build to a fuller tobacco smoke with leathery/woodsy flavors mid-way to 2/3rds in. The maduro wrap does add a bit more complexity to the smoke and is my favorite. I wouldn't say that these are as good as Oliva's G/O/V brands, but they're pretty close, especially for an everyday smoke, at the golf course or to give out to a smoking buddy. I understand that over the years, the overall quality has gone down a bit, also the bundle was 25 cigars just over a year ago, but it's still a great deal. On a 100 point scale, I would rate the naturals an 87 and the maduros an 88 (unblinded); consistency could be better.
“I had a Flor de Oliva Gold torpedo over the weekend. It was in the humidor for a solid 3 months. Overall construction was great. Had a little unraveling as I was finishing up, but even that was very minor. The draw was excellent! The best draw I've ever had from a cigar. Very consistent burn as well. I'm more of a medium-full body smoker, but if you like the mild-medium variety, this is a great smoke! And you can't argue with the price. Enjoy!”
“HOLY ISSH!...I read the reviews, I saw Gonzo pick Video, and it was spot on! These are a GREAT SMOKE for the price, did I mention they were GREAT? I'm so glad I found a great everyday smoke! I had the Lonsdale. These will stay in humi rotation! I feel like I struck Gold!”
“I have to say, Flor de Oliva has been one of my staple favorites for years. They are top notched and extremely reasonably priced for what you get. I usuallly don't get any construction flaws, but I did have one split at the cap in my humi recently. Although....I will say the humi was new, and the humidity was kinda swinging, so it was probably the humi and not the stick itself. I realllllllly enjoy the favor of the naturals. I am partial to the torpedo shape. The start is almost sweet, and the cigar produces tons of creamy smoke. I have always bought these, and I always will. Try them, you won't be disappointed.”
“Bought a bundle of 20 of the naturals and smoked one last night. I'm very pleased. If you're looking for a mild, smooth, good-quality everyday smoke--this is a great choice. Only complaint is that the first one burned a little unevenly. However, considering the price and the quality, this stick will be a regular in my humidor!”
“I just got my first box of these and wish i would have tried them before. They are fantastic.Smooth from start to finish.Nice even burn. I can smoke these all day for the price.Thank you CI.”
“Raspy , could not finish it. You get what you pay for. Never again.”
“Touted as being the bottom of the Oliva brand, the "Flor de Oliva" are a surprisingly good cigar!
The burn was slow & even and the smoke was smooth & plentiful. I've even tried the ridiculously large "Giant 10x66". This beast is down-right silly to smoke in public. But despite it's ginormous size, I still found it to be a very enjoyable 3 hour smoke.
Grab yourself a bundle of robusto or toro's. At around $2 a stick, you can't go wrong. It's a cigar you can enjoy on a daily basis without breaking the bank. The perfect balance of quality & price.”
“Love the taste and consistency! Great cheap smoke..I will be buying more soon”
“My B&M always keeps these well stocked and for good reason. A tasty smoke at a very affordable price. I'm always sure to have several of these lounging in my humidor.”
“Sweet!......And I don't mean that in a good way.
I have to say, I've really tried to learn to enjoy this cigar, but I can't get past the sweetness. Sorry, mediocre at best.”
“These cigars are cheap enough to be "knock around" smokes as they say it, but I wouldn't even dare! These guys are always stocked in my box. These smokes are great right from the rip but if you keep these in your box for a couple months then you have yourself a gem. I love them, my friends love them, always have always will and for the price CI has them we're gonna be smokin good for a long time..”
“You can't beat these babies for the price, better than some of the more expensive sticks.”
“I have been smoking these cigars for about a year now and this has been a very nice smoking cigar with a pleasant taste. The sumatra sweet leaf wrap on these is what makes the difference. They are not flavored or sweetened. Very nice and the price is even better. Thanks CI.”
“I love these cigars. They are my choice of a good everyday smoke, not very expensive, but still provide a great flavor!”
“Very nice smoke.. I love the little sweet after bite. I enjoy them while watching the game or having my favorite spirits after a hard day. The price will not kill the wallet and the sticks are a hit time after time.
“Great buy-and-smoke cigar. These are just a little sweet. Not "infused" sweet, but clearly have a sweet note. These are not complex and don't develop as they smoke; they are pleasant from start to finish. I am a fan of the 90+ seconds you can find here and these are a great contrast. Excellent one, two combination which now comprise my "daily" smoke preference. These would be a good intro cigar for someone who is not afraid of a good deal of smoke.”
“This is the one! Great flavor and my friends who don't smoke cigars (I know I need new friends) compliment the aroma of this fine Nicaraguan masterpiece.”
“This is a nice smoke at a reasonable price. Great to have some on hand for an everyday cigar.”
“Just an awsome every day cigar. Love it on the Golf Course!”
