“These are solid cigars, in every sense; all are relatively earthy in flavor. The first Black Pearl Classic burned unevenly, but the next one, for which I moved to the sun-room, away from any breezes, burned well, and its aroma (as with the first) was rich and peaty, if also a touch moldy at times. The diesel was a deeply satisfying experience, offering a marked contrast to the otherwise acceptable Black Pearl. The diesel--like the LHC Oscuro Fuerte, RP Vintage 1990, and the Cu-Avana Intenso--has such a potent complexity that it tingles through the nose and dizzies the palate. Your head will follow. That's the careful use of ligero. Both the 5 Vegas Series A and, to a lesser extent, the Nica Libre, which presents a more doughy aroma, deliver a lush and loamy experience, as does the La Estrella Cubana (this last without quite the depth of either the 5 Vegas and Nica Libre), but they present a fine range of flavors against the diesel, which is the sampler's high point. As a collection, the 60-ring sampler offers remarkable value for those seeking earthy and delicious cigars.”
“So lets face it..... Even you have an interest in large cigars... I know youve been looking at the Perdomo Inmenso... Well for $20 these are affordable. I have enjoyed all of them.... Each one has a nice pull, packed well, no sponginess. Cool burn and nice draw. For large Sticks... These are all tasty. For most definately a one time try. My favorite out of all is the La Estrella Cubana. Try Em you might be suprised”
“This sampler is my favorite for the size and variety. The fuller the better and the bigger the better, so this sampler is right up my alley. The Diesel, the La Perla, and the 5V A were great but the Nica Libre stole the show, for the money there is not a better smoke. After this sampler I ordered a box of the Diesel and the Nica Libre. Over all I am very pleased but I have to say the La Estrella Cubana was just awful, 3 of the 4 were plain umsmokeable due to construction and the 4th I have not dared to try for fear of another let down. 4 out of 5 is not bad, and the 16 good ones are well worth the price. I will order this sampler again.”
“One of my favorite samplers to buy, have purchased 3 times now. My favorite is the Diesel, followed by the La Perla, Nica Libre, 5 Vegas and then the La Estrella. The only one I don't care for is the La Estrella, these can really be hit or miss. Most times they have a very tight draw, at most 4/15 of these were enjoyable. This sampler would be perfect if they would swap it out for the Padilla Black Bear. I have managed to smoke a Diesel and have a over a 4 1/2" ash, the construction is just perfect along with the flavor. This sampler is a definite must try”
