works well, not sure how long it will be looking good
I live in Arizona, where the low humidity causes many lesser humidors to fail and results in smoking hot, dry, flaky cigars. The Pig Iron 100 Humidor seasoned quickly and has worked well to keep my cigars in good shape. However, I took the humidor on a road trip this summer for our vacation. Since returning, I noticed the corners of the "plate steel" outer covering beginning to peel loose. The humidor was not knocked around, had a safe place to travel in the back seat of the car, and was simply carried from the car to the hotel room a few times. I am not sure if the road trip was the cause of the delamination, or if the glue is simply a victim of the heat and humidity that used to ruin my cigars. At any rate, I subtracted a star because I am concerned the plate steel look is not going to last as long as I would like.
Customer Testimonials
First impressions - had the humidor about a week, it's a perfect size for 60-70 sticks, along with a section for a humicare jar. The hygrometer on the front is slanted about 10 degrees to one size, and one of the dividers was incomplete/won't fit, but these are two small issues. Being more of a function guy, what's important is the hygrometer seems to be working perfectly, and I can survive with one divider. I like the rough, imperfect shop style look and the interior build seems solid. In short, I like it.....appears solid, and it stands out in a crowd, and looks like it will keep my smokes stored perfectly.
