I've gotta agree with the first guy. The Il Duomo Display Dome Humidor is a beautiful humidor and a great bargain for a mid-sized humidor. The hygrometer was calibrated out-of-the-box (in sync with my digital). I don't know if it's worth the price difference opposed to something you'll find on Ebay, but what is worth the difference is how well it's constructed. The only complaint I had was the cheesy yellow tassle on the key. Nothing that can't be fixed with a quick snip. My only problem now is what to do with all this extra space in my new humidor. CI - please feel free to send any freebies my way to help fill the void...
This is one fine humidor (Il Duomo Display Dome Humidor). It is so much nicer than I expected for only $100. What a joy it was this weekend to put all my cigar stock in one humidor (rather than the 3 smaller ones I had been using). I also was impressed with the beveled glass dome lid so I could view my supper primiums and drool over their beauty. Now if I can just get my wife to let me keep in on the kitchen counter.
OK, my first humidor came from ebay. The deal seemed pretty good but the quality (as I should have suspected) was not there. The hygrometer was plastic and was way off calibration (could not be adjusted). When I opened the box and saw the Il Duomo (Il Duomo Display Dome Humidor) was also made in China, I expected more of the same. Wrong! The humidor was beautiful; the hygrometer was worth the difference in price alone. It was perfectly calibrated and made of stainless and brass. It is well worth the money and CI sells it for at least $20 less than anyone else (check the competitor's S&H). Thanks CI!
Just got the humidor, bought it as a birthday gift for my husband. It looks awesome, high quality, got here in one piece. I was surprised to see it's so big, I didn't know what 150 capacity means :). It's a good buy for sure!
I got this for my birthday. Before this I had just a small count humidor I got from a sampler combo. Something to get my by as I learned the ropes of having my own constant collection of stogies. Obviously this is superior, but for under $100 this is quite the humidor. The craftsmanship is outstanding. Humidity is a constant 63% to 72% depending on the weather, and lately our weather has been crazy. You will need more than just the pucks it comes with, so be prepared. I highly recommend a Xicar gel dispenser, and some solution to go with it. That mixed with the two pucks and I never have to mess with it more than once a month. But I can't stay away and love making sure my baby is just right, so I find myself doing it just to do it.
This is my second humidor, purchased both from CI. The first one had 2 small punctures, as if someone took a phillips head screwdriver to it. CI customer service was MORE THAN HELPFUL in quickly sending me another one, which has remained on my dresser ever since. Since I started with a small collection (20 or so), over time I am quickly filling it up, currently holding approx 75 (including 3 Cuban Cohibas, a Romeo y Julieta and a Montecristo). Can't wait for CigarFest to get here so I can fill up the rest, as yes it is true you will need much more than just the 2 disks until the humi gets filled up. Gorgeous product, admired by everyone, especially me every time I check on my stoagies and digi and analog hygrometers (constant 72 degrees and 61-66% humidity). A+++!!
Damn, that was quick delivery. Ordered on Wednesday received on Thursday. Now I have to prep it, this will be my first time so I'm a little nervous (wish me luck). I must say it's quite roomy (more room than I'll need) but I love the overall appearance it will add some class to my basement bar.
I was pretty disappointed with this humidor. It is an attractive and functional humidor (though the one I received was black and not the dark purple color that is pictured), but my main gripe with it is the 150 capacity labeling. How anyone could fit even 100 cigars into this thing is beyond me, not to mention 150. I have put a little over 40 cigars into it and I doubt I could fit even 15 more robusto size cigars in it on top of that. Granted, about 14 of the cigars in there are 6X60, but there is no way you will fit 150 cigars in here unless nearly all of them are little 3-4 inch tiny skinny cigars. The capacity stated here is very misleading regarding this humidor and the pictures also make it look better than it is. the humidor IS nice, I just wish it was what I was lead to believe I was going to get.
Great humidor! Had it for about 5 weeks. Holding rock solid at 69-70% humidity, based on my Humicare digital hygrometer. Nice overall size, good looking, solid seal, and love the clear dome. Yeah, the key with the tassel is pretty cheesy, but just don't use it. Super price and the usual super deal from CI.
Very quick delivery, Beautiful, "wife loved it". Well made Humidor. 150 capacity is a joke! Maybe 110 6 to 7.5, 48 to 52's if packed up to dome no dividers. That is fine for me, mine looks great and full with 90. I just like honest advertisement. Golden key tassel is fine with me, easy to spot in my desk drawer even after I trimmed it back some, " Got no problem with Manhood" Great price, Highly recommend.
I have had this humidor for over 6 months now and I love it. It keeps a great seal and paired with the Cigar Oasis XL electronic humidifier it keeps my cigars fresh for up to 3 months without having to touch it (great for me being in the Navy). My only complaint with this humidor, as others have mentioned, is the advertised 150 capacity. Even though I know the Cigar Oasis takes up a lot of real estate, I could not see how this humidor could be rated at 150 capacity unless you filled the whole thing with Coronas. With the size issue aside, this is still a wonderful humidor. It looks amazing on my dresser, the quality is top notch, and the glass dome is nice to show off my super premiums. I would definitely recommend this to a friend who is looking for a 75-100 count humidor.
I've had this humidor for a couple months now and been overall pleased, though it is not perfect. The wood in the lid was cracked where a hinge was screwed in but appears to have been repaired before shipping. The dividers are not sized to the humidor without using some adhesive strips to fill in the gap. Also the holes cut in the tray for the humidifiers are not the correct size. The pucks that come with it are sponge, not gel, for those wondering. I did order two gel ones to use and likewise they do not fit in the discs. Overall, it's a good looking humidor and performs, but disappointed in the craftsmanship.
I was nervous about purchasing a humidor as I live in VERY dry west Texas and thought it would be a big hassle babysitting it. Although the "capacity issue" mentioned in several previous reviews is real (I can't see how anyone could squeeze 150 sticks into the Il Duomo without putting them in a blender first), I AM very satisfied with its construction and appearance. My fears of having to constantly babysit a humidor in such a dry climate were quickly put to rest as THIS baby always keeps my smokes in a 68-72% environment. Overall: VERY happy, but might have to get another one if I want to keep 150 sticks on hand.
I've had the Il Duomo humidor now for over 6 years. It's a great humidor but I would encourage any buyer to also purchase a better quality hygrometer and humidifier. I use both the "Humi-Care Digital Hygrometer" and "Humi-Care HX10 Crystal Gel Rectangle Humidifier which are awesome. My only comment about the Il Duomo is that 150 is not accurate. Right now I have typical section of 60 cigars and it's full. You can stack multiple layers on the top shelf if you want but I don't.
Works just fine. Seasoned it with a shotglass And the two humidification devices it came with, after 24 hours it was around 70% and good to go. Hygrometer that came with reads about 10% higher than actual. I bought a cheap digital replacement, and will use the analog in something different.
Got my humidor in less time than it will take to get it set up, unbelievable. Looks great, and my wife wants to put it in our living room, but that not happening, can you say MAN CAVE. Now lets see if it works has good as it looks.
Unique design, nice finish, holds a lot (though shy of the stated amount) of cigars, and - best of all - seasons quickly and has a great seal. Even with the glass top, this is the best of my humidors at holding humidity. You won't be sorry with this unit. Michigan winters are dry as Vegas summers, so I use it with four drymistat tubes along with the provided humidifiers and never worry about humidity level. (Why do so many people recommend tossing the humidifiers? They absolutely should not be used alone, but there's no reason to not let them chip in on the RH effort, IMO). Best of all, the price. Il Duomo; Humi-Care, Dry Mistat, or Boveda; digital hygrometer; and some cigars. And then you are all set to go. Do yourself a favor and just get this one.
Gorgeous glass top, perfect seal, savory Spanish cedar lining, easy to season...couldn't be happier with this 150 count humidor! maintaining a perfect 70/70 up here in the cold dry weather of Michigan. I recommend Humi-Care Seasoning Wipes and a Humi-Care Black Ice Pie Jar (4oz) to go with it. I'm amazed at the quality I got in this humidor (paired with the other humidification products CI offers) for the money I spent! Top notch with money left over for a sampler!
Great unit; love it.
Very well made humidor. Would buy again
