Customer Reviews of “Maxim's de Paris”
“As always my decision to buy these was guided by my budget of $40 per box. I was impressed with CI's write up and the positive fan mail. Once they arrived the most impressive thing was the size of the cigar, wow, awesome fun, I couldn't help but take a couple of photos with it clamped in my mouth. The burn is good, but has been a little uneven as I've made my way through the box, one cigar lasted an hour and a half, another only 50 mins. The taste? Hmm, as always with a cheaper cigar there has been an uneven quality of taste through the box. At it's best it has been a soft smoke with hints of cream and wood. At it's worst it tasted like an old sock, no seriously. All in all, not a bad box for the price, and I'd say the size is the cigar's strongest point, almost always giving an hour of smoking. I just wouldn't recommend always inhaling to deeply ;)”

“I almost hate to rate these as highly as I do. Maxim's Omnibus or Imperiale are incredible smokes at a fabulous price..the more folks find out..the fewer will be available..!! Awesome smoke..great price. A great everyday or better cigar. Enjoy..”

“I have bought these (Maxim's) at Maxim's in Paris for a fortune and loved them. At these prices, you've got to be nuts not to buy them. They're outstanding!”

“A very mild cigar (Maxim's) with a smooth draw and even burn and a straightforward tobacco taste. These great cigars can be smoked any time of the day. Sorry I waited so long to try them.”

“Smells and tastes good, burns evenly, produces clouds of smoke - perfect cigar for the golf fairways. I share these with my golfing buddies who ALWAYS compliment me on this cigar. A steal for the money!”

“I worship these (Maxim's). I am gonna hate when they run out....”

“I'd recomend nobody else ever buy these Maxim's. After all, with a fruity French name like this, no real man would want to scarf them up, even tho as a mild stick they're consistant, flavorful, yummy, and a great all-day smoke. Happy, that way there will be enough for me for a while longer!”

“Maxim is a good cigar. I find the first half of the cigar to be the best. Nutty, creamy and smooth. The last 1/3 of the cigar starts to get somewhat bitter. I've smoked 24 of them and found this to true most of the time. For the price, it's an excellent buy.”

“Now working on my fourth bundle. The Torpedos draw and burn the best and seem to have the most flavor. Great cigar for that morning commute. Perfect for the golf course. It stays lit and gives off tons of smoke without any bite. Great value.”

“What a find (Maxim's). One of my favorite cigars and at these prices I hate to tell anyone about these because when they're gone it will be a sad day!”

“Maxim de Paris is a very nice everyday cigar. It starts with a little bit of a spicy note, but mellows quickly to a slightly sweet, creamy flavor. Overall, there isn't an abundance of flavor, but it still has enough to be interesting. When considering the price, this is a great addition to any humidor.”

“Got my bundle of torpedos and tried the first one. Very nice flavor and well constructed. The taper of these leaves it a little on the narrow side (I love a big ring gauge) but it smoked perfectly and I burned my fingers before letting it go. Nice cigar at a nice price. Great deal!”

“There is NOTHING even close to these (Maxim's) in value. I'd pay 3X as much for them without batting an eye... They are great! I tell everyone about them and now everyone at work smokes these as their "everyday". I will shed a tear when these are gone.......”

“I did not care for the first few Maxims tried, before they sat in my humidor for a couple weeks. After 6 weeks in my humidor, I am glad now to smoke one. It has a unique flavor profile that I have not experienced in any other cigar, and it may be that I also needed to smoke several before learning to appreciate the flavor. To me, it has a bit of a musty smell/taste that makes me think of a pile of fallen leaves in late October. It reminds me of Pu-erh tea, which is the only fermented tea in China, and how it took me a while to get to appreciate that. Construction is high quality. Give it a try after some time in a humidor, and smoke a few before making a final judgment.”

“I tried a Maxim's de Paris and didn't like it. I then smoked a few more and realized my first appraisal was wrong. This is a nice cigar, mild, flavorful and a great cigar for the golf course. Burns even and long, no bitter taste at the end. Buy a bundle or three and give your foursome a treat on your next round of golf.”

“Big bang for the buck! What you get is a bundle of 25 big cigars for a great price. Everything about this cigar is good.... Good everyday smoke, but not great. I've bought them before and just stocked up when they became available again. In a nutshell, they are as good as any $5 to $6 cigar out there.”

“It's the beautiful Connecticut wrapper that makes this a joy to smoke! Even though mild in nature, after a long exhausting work day this is a guarenteed to help you unwind!”
“Rather enjoyable mild cigar in a bizarre trumpet shape. Worth $12/stick? - no. Worth the $1.20 I paid? Absolutely.”

“This a a fine smoke. It burns evenly, well constructed, remains cool, no harsh after taste, cream, leather and love. You get a lot of return for your investment. I highly recommend this cigar.”
