“An Excellent cigar. Medium strength. Smooth, steady, great favor. A must try at CI decent price.”
“Decided to give an update on these as I am on my second bundle. I really like this stick. It burns evenly, and has a mildly spicy and rich unsweetened chocolate flavor with a sweet finish. I really like these and they are a bargain at this price. A nice flavor and burn at a great price point. I am a maduro and corojo smoke for the most part and really enjoy these. A very nice, rich everyday smoke.”
“Great smoke, enjoyed one right out of the box. Letting them age a little in the humi, I'm sure they will be even better. Thanks CI.”
“Great smoke, especially for the price. My unit started a cigar club over here in Balad, Iraq and I gave a few sticks to some of my friends as well and we all came to the same conclusion, great smoke, smooth and capped off a hard days work nicely, will order again very soon.”
“I received a box of these for Christmas this year. I smoked my first one the other day. I must say, I was shocked. It was a pretty decent smoke. It had a even burn all the way through. Great draw and it had a lot of spice and it was a medium/full body which I like. Had a bit of a sweet and sassy taste to it as well. I would smoke these over Punch any day. I would buy these again for sure. Great smoke.”
“MMmmmm, simply delicious, enjoyable and pleasant to the taste. Finished having dinner a little while ago when the door bell rang. UPS delivering my Legacies. I went through the tradition to prepare to have one, BAM...ding-ding-ding...WINNER. What a treat, thank my friends, thank you, I want more.”
“Let my Cuban Legacy sticks sit for a week after being on a hot UPS truck. I have enjoyed about six of these, each burns perfectly and I like them very much. I especially like the traditional Maduro sweet finish. The CI description and Steve-O's review are spot on. Nice stick and I find I like them a bit better than La Estrella Cubana.”
“This cigar is made better than you deserve for what it costs. I was surprised in that regard .. even knowing that it's a Gurkha. Every draw starts sweet, maybe overshadowing the flavors that follow to a fault at times, but they are there. This was my second cigar of the night, so I may need to revisit (ok, since I bought a box of 20 and Spring is here).”
“wow just recieved my shipment of toro legacys. Awesome! I couldnt wait to fire one up. Construction, taste, burn were all perfect; I would give it a solid 90 rating. At 2.00 cant beat it. thanks CI! You guys should be rated #1 retailer.”
“Well, the Cuban Legacy might not be a 101 Maduro, but it also doesn't list for $14! It's a well made, flavourful cigar with a pleasant aroma both before and after lighting. I always have a few in the box.”
“I bought the robustos during the weekly deal at an insanely low price, not expecting a great cigar. Well, the Cuban Legacy isn't a great cigar, but it's a great value. I found lots of leather and wood flavors with a hint of spice through the first two thirds. This was a quick burner. The last third became much more harsh with almost a chemical after taste. I'll let these cook a bit in the cedar humi and we'll see. I don't think these are worth paying full price, but the C.I. sale price can't be topped.”
“not a fan. construction and burn was fine, but taste wasnt up to par for a Gurkha”
“I tell ya. I'm worried that everyone is going to learn about these, then the price will go up! Well constructed and medium in body. This is absolutely the best 40 dollar bundled cigar on this site or any other. These are now a regular in my weekly rotation. Way to go, CI! You guys kill me!”
“So I gave it a try because the price was right, in the toro size. Awesome stick. I didn't get the spice that most talk about. I find it very chocolatety smooth. Needs a little time in the humi because they are a liitle moist but that is my only complaint. I gotta give Gurkha credit, they didn't skimp on the quality here. Definately will be getting more of these. Great job to CI, too.”
“Got a box of Cuban Legacy in Toro, I've smoked several and will say their worth the price (special $35 deal), good-solid-consistent draw, some act like they want to become "side-burners" but typically straighten up okay, middle of the road cigar taste, nothing too remarkable but nothing derogatory either. Good value for the sale price in a great Toro size !”
“Got a coupe of these in a sampler and I'm blown away at the overall quality construction and smooth flavor. At this price I challenge anyone to find a better smoke. The draw is exceptional; the burn is dead on even. Ordered a box before I finished the first stick. With some box time I'm sure they wil improve but even with minimum box time these are excellent sticks. Wow!”
“Well packed, perfectly rolled, and great pre-light aroma. The hearty wrapper is more dark coffee than espresso and that's reflected in the flavor profile which to me is predominantly leather and spice. Medium body is consistent past the band with no surprises. Beautiful salt and pepper ash. There are other Gurkha's I like better, but with the aggressive pricing and premium quality I'll be carrying one of these in my two-finger case.”
“I had the opportunity to be gifted a box by my wife. I did not know what to think at first, I was excited they were Gurkha, but my expectations were not set too high. Upon opening my box, I was instantly pleased by the appearance and smell of the cigars. I couldn't wait to try one out, so I grabbed one and lit it up. I was happy upon lighting the cigar, the taste was good, draw was perfect. About half way through this smoke I noticed it had a consistant burn and the tastes of Gurkhas grade a tabaccos was once again in full effect. I would tell any Gurkha lover, or anyone that likes a medium complex maduro smoke, try one! At these prices, you can't lose!”
“This is a great smoke, especially for the price. Beautiful, tight ash and quite a bit creamier than other Gurkhas I have smoked. I just bought a box of the robustos during the weekly deal and must say no disappointment while smoking one almost straight out of the package. I would definitely put this in my humi consistently and can't wait to get to the other ones after a few days of sitting.”
“Great, great cigars. Full flavored but not too heavy. Notes of coffee and chocolate throughout. Even burn all the way back. These are cigars I wanted a roach clip to finish.”
“To hell with anyone who says this is not one of the best deals in the stogie world. This $2 stick from Kaizad Hansotia is ridiculous in every way. It is well built, good draw, even and semi-slow burn, full taste complexity, great balance, and if you're on a budget like me, AWESOME PRICE! Love Gurkhas, love the Cuban Legacy.”
“Love these smoke em all of the time, like others have said just give them some time in the Humi first”
“Been a cigar smoker for about a year now. I'm lucky to have a couple of "serious" cigar smoker friends who are always willing to tell me what I need to know and to help me spend my hard earned cash. Over this year I've smoked a bunch of cigars. I've tried inexpensive (cheap crap) and very expensive stuff up to $20.00 a stick. After all is said and smoked, I'm a true Gurkha believer. Love CAO America, Love Rocky 1992, Love La Flor Dominicana Ligero and Double Ligero and a bunch more. For reasons I can't explain (PRICE?) I keep coming back to the CUBAN LEGACY. Not a tight cigar, soft in spots but that's OK. Even burn, hits me with pepper at times and doesn't take a day to smoke. Hey, I've learned some hard lessons sweating out a cigar on the bathroom floor but that hasn't happened with the Legacy. One of my favorites and believe it or not both of my high dollar corporate buddies that I mentioned earlier liked the ones I gave them! A true winner for the taste and cost.”
“This was a great cigar right out of the box on the day it was delivered. I've smoked several more since. They have been excellent in every way.”
“I purchased a box of these Cigars when they were on sale for $1.60 a stick. What a surprise when I lit one up and found what a great taste and burn they had. I enjoyed the easy draw, good wrapper that stayed together for the entire smoke. Thanks again, wished I had purchased more at the sale price.”
“Decent cigar but almost every one had burn issues. Good draw but invariably the subterranean pop up burn an inch from the end which completely compromised the burn.”
“Its Friday evening, had Chinese for dinner, my work week is over. Sat on the deck with some Southern Comfort and a Cuban Legecy Rubusto. I ordered them yesterday and they came today ( love you CI). Its getting cool out here, got my leather jacket, ahhh, thats better. This cigar has a aroma that reminds me of warm chocolate chip cookies. Its medium in body with pepper through the nose and a creaminess that keeps me coming back for another puff. Verrrrry satisfing. The burn is a bit uneven but with enough Southern Comfort, I will tolerate that. I hope with some time in the humidor it with correct itself. Love these sticks so far. Good Night. ”
“This is an amazing smoke. Needs to be aged a little bit but is well worth the wait. The only problem I have is that the draw is extremely tight, though its nothing a paper clip cant fix. If you have hesitated on this buy them. The price is always right.”
“Got a box of the robustos and put them into my rotation. These are way better than the price would suggest. They don't say 'Gurkha' anywhere, but the quality is there. Haven't had a bad one yet, all smoke beautifully. I look forward to having one of these every few days. Love it for the price!”
“A cigar with enough pepper to remind you with every draw. The smoke is so smooth you really don't notice the slight sting, and I burned it down as far as I could. This is one that I would like to have in my humidor, but would not consider it an every day smoke for me. Once again, Ghurka stands out as a consistent maker of cigars.”
“Tried one of these lately and was very pleasantly surprised. It drew well with nice burn and great flavor profile. The ultimate test, however, resulted in my purchasing a box. At this price point it's hard to find a smoke of this quality.”
“After trying all three sizes, this is one of the best, under $3 sticks out there. Easy draw, great construction, even burn, and it gets better the closer you get to the nub. Another good Gurkha.”
“Quality smoke, from the rich well constructed wrapper, to tasty long filler that produces a long firm ash! I really enjoy this cigar and recommend it highly. Don't be fooled by the ridiculously low price! Some may dismiss it because they think it's just another sub par to aveage smoke released by another cigar giant trying to capitalize on their popularity! This is a very good cigar at a stellar price point!”
“I got the CL Toro in the Honest Pour sampler. I just smoked it today after about 4 months in the humidor. Good looking stick. It was a very smooth smoke. It didn't have any harshness at all, which was nice. It also had a nice burn that never needed touch-ups. There was a point about at the end of the first third where the cigar diminished in smoke production and I was worried it would go out easily, but then about at the halfway point it really picked up again. The flavors were decent. I wasn't blown away by them and wasn't dying to have more when I finished it. It wasn't complex, and it had a pretty consistent earthy flavor profile. It was pretty good... A decent cigar for a good price...”
