I finally was able to smoke the Vitola 'B'... The appearance is smooth, oily, and and downright sexy. Nice amount of tobacco in this one, and no gaps or soft spots. It burns nice & easy, with that characteristic R & J white ash. The rain forced me to extinguish this stick well before it deserved to be. This Vitola lights with a bit of pepper, that subsies fairly quickly, leaving you with Espresso, and a bit of leather. A slight reminder of the R & J Cuban churchill. After about an inch into the smoke, the sweetness of the maduro was complimented by a bit of creaminess, black pepper, and some cinnamon. This one is nice and chewy. I would have nubbed this one had the rain kept to a drizzle, but no such luck. I had to lay her down, regretfully so... "Parting is such sweet sorrow..."

A nice looking stick (Romeo y Julieta Viejo). The wrapper is thick, toothy, and appears to have some age on it. Makes you want to smoke it right away! Very nice maduro flavors out of this one. NOOOOOOO harshness at all from this stick. A very smooth smoke. Got some coffee notes in there. Produced a very good amount of smoke. I would say its firmly a medium bodied stick. Burned straight as an arrow and required NO touch ups. Lit this thing and didn't touch it the rest of the way. Great stick. Would love to invest in a box. I could imagine what a year or two would do to these beauties.

I was shocked at how good this cigar (Romeo y Julieta Viejo) is...really shocked. Honest to God, I want to eat this cigar every time I light up....I don't just smoke it to the nub, I smoke it until it's a tattoo on my thumb and forefinger. My new favorite cigar!! Im constantly ordering them so I have a fresh batch marinating in my humidor. The taste is indescribably good. Smooth as wife's bottom. Bravo Romeo Y Julieta!!!

Steve-o {the o stands for, "oh my god"}.. how right you are! These RyJ Viejo are just otta sight. Sweet, creamy, earthy and yes a hint of the peanut..man what a smoke. Another in the regular rotation, way to go Steve-O.

WOW! This cigar is amazing! (Romeo y Julieta Viejo) I have smoked other Romeo y Julieta's before, but this one is sure a treat! Smooth the whole way down, and tasty as well!

The R y J Viejo...an excellent cigar. If you think 'excellent' in all respects, simply apply it to the Viejo. "Strong" enough to please the full-flavoured contingent but 'gentle' enough for the rest. Beautifully made, as you might expect from a Romeo, very nice flavour....wonderful cigar. Don't miss it.

How's this; I received a 5-pack of "E" (Romeo and Julieta Viejo) on Monday and smoked two that night and one Tuesday and ordered a box of 'em Wednesday. I usually prefer full bodied but this is incredible. I would call it mild but there is way too much flavor so medium it is. Perfect construction/draw that produces billows of smoke that to my nose is like cookies in the oven. Great balance, not overly complex but enough layers of flavor to captivate. Between this and the CAO 'VR' I'm gonna go broke! Whatever your tastes I cannot imagine any herfer not enjoying the shit outta this!

Just finished my first E 6x54. I most enjoy ring sizes from 46 to 50. This pressed 54 feels perfect. It really looks beautiful, with that sheeny dark brown. Hard to believe mild but still VERY flavorful. The draw ,ash and clouds of smoke PERFECT. Not an Opus but a magnificent $5 cigar. It just made it into by four rotation!

This was an excellent but deceptive cigar (Romeo y Julieta Viejo). First off, after I punched the top of the "c" a whopping 7 by 54 it appeared the draw would be very hard. Not so!! It drew beautifully and burned cool till the end. Secondly, it is very dark and lush yet, it is a very mellow cigar. I savored every draw with creamy goodness, yes even the subtle taste of caramel on the palate. A definate winner, try this you wont be dissapointed.

Some turned out to be pretty good, I thought because I let them age a bit in my humidor. I was going to change my review then I smoked another sour one.

I have to tell you, I love this Cigar (Romeo y Julieta Viejo). I bought the sample pack a few weeks ago when it was on special, and was instantly hooked! This is my new favorite! Romeo y Julieta Viejo, I strongly recomend it. very smooth, and creamy. Great flavor. I just ordered a box!

I ordered a box before I could even finish this thing (Romeo y Julieta Viejo). It's that good. Super creamy and smooth. I seriously almost burned my lips trying to squeeze every last ounce out of this cigar. My new favorite. Perfect for all occasions.

The Romeo y Julieta Viejo is an excellent cigar. I have had the pleasure of smoking the churchill size of the Cuban RyJ cigars on a number of occasions. This cigar is every bit as tasty. I will be ordering a box soon to refill my humidor.

Already a fan of (Romeo y Julieta Viejo) , I was quite taken by the 'Viejo'. All the previous reviews are dead-on as to rich flavor, almost creamy texture and abundant smoke. Unlike some of my other stick afficionados, I am at a loss with anything beyond a medium strength smoke. That said, I still didn't find any of the 'Viejo' Indians overwhelming in the least. Suprisingly I didn't see this line extension listed on the current Altadis website when I sought to learn more about it. All its brethren makes, however, were covered copiously. Odd? Regardless and in conclusion, I will be a regular imbiber of this new delight. Bravo!

I must have got a sour 5 pack then, I was very disappointed, produced very little smoke, had sour taste to em, smoked 3 of the 5 pack then trashed the last 2, I will not buy them again.

What a great smoke! Physically attractive, good hand feel, excellent construction, super-slow burn that stays lit, and the list goes on. The taste bouquet is wonderful and consistent throughout, producing nuances of dark chocolate and coffee, predominantly, and the aftertaste is reminiscent of the aftertaste left by a good, well brewed coffee. The strength of the cigar is also consistent, remaining smooth and mellow from foot to head. If there is anything worthy of critique, it is that the flavor nuances are just that... nuances; it takes a good bit of concentration to pick out the various flavors on the palate. Nevertheless, R&J's Viejo is an all-around solid smoke.

This cigar really made me believe (Romeo y Julieta Viejo) that there are cigars just as good,if not, better than Cubans here in the states, Why break the law, when you can legally smoke a great cigar .

Absolutely great cigar!

Whenever I am lucky enough to smoke a Habano, I always come away saying it was the best cigar I ever had, other then those occasianal Cubans, the Viejo is the best cigar I ever had. Smooth, flavorful, good looking, even smoking and nice to hold. It's Romeo y Julieta's best.

The R&J Viejo is a wonderfully smooth stick. I've introduced several associates to this stick and they love it every time. While it looks like it's going to be over powering,it's just the opposite. Nice mellow smoke without the bite. I taste a bit of coffee mixed with some coco and a splash of sweet vermouth. I always have a stock of them in my humi.
RS of San Jose, CA
The Viejo is a delicious cigar. It is nice and meaty with a very good aroma.
