I had been smoking cigars for 30 years and then stopped. Now ten years later, I opted to get back to some of the best cigars available in the world. With competition comes best practices making hand made cigars. In our lifetimes we need to appreciate that. Torano Loyal let me say is a treat from beginning to about one inch from end. Smooth, easy, relaxing, armotic in terms of floral, won't take your breath away. A pleasure that I will always be smoking!
WOW!!! This is an amazing cigar! When I was a young boy about 30 years ago my grandfather smoked cigars and the prelight and the rest of this cigar reminded me of the cigars that he smoked. Wonderful memories! I can't say enough good things about this cigar. I am so damn impressed with the Toraño family. If you have not smoked this cigars or other Toraño family cigars you are missing out.
Great subtle flavor on the "Loyal" and a medium body. The craftsmanship is very impressive on Torano cigars in general and this one is no different. I actually prefer this cigar to more expensive sticks. Got this in a sampler and assumed it would be a 7-8 dollar smoke. The fact that CI has this on sale for 3 bucks apiece is one of the best deals I have ever seen.
Easy to light. Very good construction, draw and burn. Good smoke output. Slight warm burn. Light smoke on the palate. Nice aroma. Mild to medium strength with solid medium flavors that blend very well. Sweet dark fruit with caramel and fading hints of leather and nuts. Natural tobacco sweetness on lips. No spice and a medium length finish after each draw.
In a special edition of Cigar Journal a Loyal Churchill was ranked as the 18th best cigar of 2012. Already reasonably priced, I grabbed a ten pack of Robustos for less than three bones per stick from clearance, to see what the fuss was all about. It's about a firmly packed, handsome cuss, that is loaded with full flavored goodness. Medium/full to be more specific. Flavors of cocoa, raisins & oak are present, in what can best be described as an eventful smoke. Cool burning, with a firm white/grey ash, I believe you will like the complexity of this cigar.
A decent everyday stick. Not in the same league with his
few premium smokes but acceptable in the late afternoon
maybe with some coffee or a beer.
I have become a fan of many Carlos Torano cigars, and have been very pleased with the CI samplers that offer a glimpse into the many types of cigars offered by this company. I recently purchased a 10-pack of the Torano Loyal Torpedos. After a few days in my humidor I smoked one and was impressed with the construction, burn and flavor profile. I would say that it is similar to the 5-Vegas Classic, but I actually prefer the Loyal. This is a very nice, well-balanced, medium-bodied cigar that will not disappoint. The price is also excellent considering the quality and how well this cigar smokes.
As always Torano fails to disappoint! This cigar had a near perfect draw and burn, and I didn't even have to think about a re-light. The flavor profile on the first half was a light, dry wood with touches of roasted almond. The second half is really where the cigar came alive for me. It maintained a prominent earthiness but also had hints of citrus which really made this an interesting smoke. I will say though that I switched my pairing from water to amaretto in the final third, so that may have brought out some different notes. Either way a fine cigar! I think this cigar could work for any time of day.
