“Normally I'm not a big fan of R&J cigars since they tend to be overpriced for what they deliver. Since I got one of the Havocs in the monthly cigar membership (highly recommend) I decided to try it out. It was surprisingly good! Normally larger cigars don't do it for me since the larger ring gauges overly mingle flavors but this cigar (6x60) was well balanced with a good bit of earth, chocolate, hickory and a hint of spice. The cigar burned well throughout, provided great ash and lasted about an hour and a half (so plan accordingly). Even better; my cigar paired well with coffee so I can get in a good morning smoke on the weekends. I would highly recommend this cigar if you see one in the B&M. 90 points.”
“I’m a relative Newbie with cigars and one of my first cigars was a Romeo Y Julieta Reserva Real, which I thought was very good cigar. Since then, after smoking various cigars of different strengths I find that cigar to be more of a mild to medium cigar with not as much flavor as I have grown to love. So, I decided to try a box of the Romeo Y Julieta Havoc Stocky Bullies. After first lighting the Havoc right out of the box it seemed a little more full flavored than the Reserva Real with a little spice at the back of the throat, but not much different. After the first inch things really changed, it is definitely a full flavored cigar. Had to touch it up a little at the midway point, but I think that is due to no time in the humidor. I’m very happy with my purchase. Can’t wait to see how it tastes with a little time in the humidor.”
“After nearly 25 years of cigar smoking, R&J has provided a consistent great cigar smoke for medium cigar lovers that I can count on & afford. If you love the heritage brands, then this is a brand you can count on & Havoc is one of the best of the new bunch. I highly recommend this label & this version. A great smoke if you have the time to savor & enjoy!
“I had one of the Romeo y Julieta "Havoc" cigars over the weekend and it was amazing. Medium with a little bite to it. I smoked the big Churchill which gave me about two hours of smoke time on it. Excellent notes on this cigar with a very flavorful finish. Definitely a must have for your humidor. I would recommend it with a good rum or pale ale beer.”
“The RyJ "Havoc" was very impressive and truly a fine cigar. This cigar is somewhat more spicy than the 1875, yet it retains that excellent RyJ flavor and creamy smoke. Amazing notes on this stick and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the Romeo y Julieta line.”
“I must have gotten a dud, because the draw on this beauty was impossible. I even cut the foot off after it was burning unevenly, then re-lit it and ended up with a complete acrid dud. I have some more on the way, so if I find the others to be good I'll rewrite my review. But for now, it's only fair to warn people these R&J "cheapies" are no good. She's was beauty, though, which really ruined my night because it was unsmokable.”
“The Romeo y Julieta Havoc Churchill is a medium to slightly full bodied cigar. Dominant flavors are of creamy sweet Jesus tobacco, cashew nuts and spice. Occasional hints of creamed coffee. Construction was a densely packed cigar, with a slight snug draw but good smoke output. Burn was.cool but required a touch up or two. Burn line even. Finish a semi long sweet creamy cubanesque tobacco which coated the palette. Overall a.fine offering from RyJ. I rate a 93 on my book”
“Being a fan of Romeo y Julieta 1875 Bully, I was anxious to try their recent addition Havoc. Having found a great deal on a ten pack of 6" X 60 Gordos, I pulled the trigger & made the purchase last month. Smoking one immediately upon receipt, I was impressed with the construction of this medium bodied, full flavored beauty. Now, after resting in my humidor for a few weeks, I have to report just how tasty this blend is. Complex from the fist puff, Havoc emits clouds of smoke filled with creamy nuances. Flavors of sweet cedar, citrus & anise are present, giving Havoc a wonderfully distinct profile. Highly recommended. 91/100”
“Picked up some Magnums on a deal. Not a big fan of the 6x60 for several personal reasons. However, this was a very enjoyable experience. Great burn, construction, draw and flavor. I wasnt a big RyJ fan until they recently started to expand their horizons with Nicaraguan tobacco in their blends. Im turning the corner with Havoc, and RyJ Nicaraguan puro. Really liked both of these, especially the puro. Will buy more of both of these cigars. Nice job by RyJ.”
“The RyJ Stocky Bully is more on the full flavored side than advertised - a big plus in my book. I tried to hold them in my humi for a few days, but only lasted one. I'm a big fan of the RyJ Cubans when I travel internationally, but I didn't have much luck when I bought non-Cubans at the local smoke shop. On the contrary, these Havocs are SUPERB. Strong enough for my taste, an even draw, and a little spice makes it a great stick.”
“A little messed up burn line needing some touch ups... tasty cigar. This is a Gordo from the monthly club. About 9 months in the coolidor. A very smooth smoke. If I recall correctly, the first one I smoked burned fine. I'm glad they went central American for some of their products. The look of the wrapper is flawless. Not as aromatic when unlit. Great cigar though. Worth the price.”
“After receiving 10 of the 6" X 60rg Magnum Toros in January, I put up a few for aging at 70% humidity. Now, 4 months later, I am checking out how the rest may have affected the overall experience. Prelight is uneventful, but once lit, the aroma releases. It is pleasant, mild to medium for the 1st inch, with notes of leather & citrus. Burn is even, developing a firm white ash that stays until removed. Strength intensifies as the burn progresses, reaching a medium bodied level, accompanied by full flavored nuances. The very light colored Habano wrapper looks like a Connecticut leaf, but is in fact a spicy accompaniment to the Honduran & Nicaraguan long fillers. A deviation from the normal RyJ blends, havoc represents a step up in compexity & flavor, while maintaining the medium bodied profile that is common to the manufacturer. I really enjoy this new offering & can recommend it to anyone who already likes the RyJ line. In addition, I believe this blend would be a good way for the mildheads to make a move toward more robust, more flavorful & complex blends. I reiterate my previous rating of 91/100. Considering the cost, which is well within my firm 5 dollar limit....”
“Good solid smooth smokes! Give them a few weeks in the humi!
“Another excellent cigar from R&J. I haven't had an R&J I didn't like...”
